    Smart, easy setup. You're going to go onto bigger and even better things

      Already have, thanks! I’m doing classic arcade machines now. It’s pretty badass, and more profitable..and more accepted in that pond, than in this aquatic one. Everyone is a critic! Have a great life, thx for the great comment

    This are my favorite Clowns. Nice looking mod man. Thinking about doing the same thing for the IM i am posting about.

      @King_Henry  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +Infamous Aquatics ....Thanks Man! I love those clowns as well...and I'm not really a clown fan taboot ;-) I wanted to mention the glass jar thats in the refugium section....It's a household jar that barely fit in there...it holds some live rock and plants (that you saw in the video). Beneath that is more live rock. You've got to have these nooks and crannies to give these pods a safe-haven, and thus reproducing. Thanks again!

      Yeah, Awesome +Infamous Aquatics ...I decided to do a 2-3 min video on JUST the workings of what my setup is...There is more to it, and I want to share that, and dumb it down a bit, for people wanting to just look at modding.

    If you're interested in getting a better view into the filter section, that honeycomb patten comes off very cleanly with a razor blade.

    • @King_Henry

      Awesome to know buddy! Thanks :-). I might not do that for a while though...does that stuff actually help the integrity of the glass???

    Great tank! How did you place your overhang filter? Is it just an extra filter along with the built in tank filter?

    What is the rock and macro algae in???? A jar??

    • @King_Henry
      @King_Henry  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, an old canning jar. It housed the main home for the pods. If i ever get into the hobby again, I’ll have something with holes in the bottom of clear acrylic instead (to cut down on collected waste/nitates/nitrites. In fact I would make a whole diy drop in solution as a refugium (if I keep that setup).

  • @karennation3580

    Does this light get bluer? Someone posted that the light dosnt have enough blue and I notiec alot of people replacing the ;ight' Also does it grow lps or did it before you moved it?

    • @King_Henry
      @King_Henry  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah there’s much better lights out there. You get what you pay for. The tank is empty now...got out of the hobby again..mostly due to TH-cam fucking up and taking my monitization away. TH-cam kills the little guys like me.

    Is your Mandarin still doing well? Just got my evo. interested in a refugium as well so that down the line I can house one

    • @King_Henry
      @King_Henry  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      +RugbyGentleman Yeah, she's still doing well...Actually she eats frozen as well, which is pretty rare i was told...She lost one of her fins although, and I'm wondering if it's one of 3 things...1. The Skunk Cleaner Shrimp. 2. A rock fell on her. 3. Her fin got caught in the impeller of the Hydor water pump...anyway, shes ok!

    • @RugbyGentleman
      @RugbyGentleman 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      KING HENRY awesome, sorry about the fin though. :( As for the refugium, what is it fully composed of? Looks great I might be running a similar tank to yours shortly!

    • @King_Henry
      @King_Henry  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      +RugbyGentleman I will be making a short video on the specifics of the mods that I've done :-) Basically, there is bed of small chunks of live rock in the center section, and a glass jar sitting on top of that (in the middle section btw). In the jar is half-full of live rock, and then the clarbea macro algae you see in the video. THAT BLUE MATERIAL IS AWESOME btw, as the pods seek refuge in that material (which is next to the glass jar. SURPRISINGLY, the pods are now living in the Aqueon 20 filter material I added...the same blue material I used in the refugium! More to come!

    • @sarahgrassi9648
      @sarahgrassi9648 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@King_Henry why use the jar? Couldn't you just lose the jar altogether.

    what type of led is that over the main part of the aquarium?

    • @King_Henry
      @King_Henry  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Here it is +Michael Ironside www.amazon.com/Lightimetunnel-Aquarium-spectrum-Dimmable-Lighting/dp/B019QAZX9C/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1497211801&sr=8-1&keywords=lightimetunnel You could get a better one, but this one works great for me, and I'm only running the power at 25%! Plus it's nice to have the blue channel separate from the white/red channel.

  • @lonestarpatriot876
    @lonestarpatriot876 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    Interesting but definitely not what I would do. I have separate refugium that gets run from the main display tank. Then I have an Intake media basket in compartment 1 of the tank sump, and a Phosphate/Media Reactor in compartment 2 of the tank sump.
    I did not keep my Fluval top because it was annoying. With that said, I would not suggest using cut acrylic for a top unless you are putting holes in it so the tank gets some oxygen and airflow. That can cause temperature swings and especially PH swings. I made a canopy out of wood, with grating for the lights that you don't see unless you open the canopy. The lid of the canopy has holes drilled into it for air circulation.

      it's the 'lighttimetunnel' LED light...Its super cheap on Amazon...here is the link. www.amazon.com/Lightimetunnel-Aquarium-spectrum-Dimmable-Lighting/dp/B019QAZX9C/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1494876915&sr=8-2&keywords=lightimetunnel It's great! +ED PE Yeah Ed, this setup is for cultivating 'pods' that feed mostly the mandarin Goby in my tank ;-) My mod is also great for seahorses, etc. YES, I agree that the stock system is pretty good (not perfect) for most folks!

      Nope. Mandy got chewed up by the wave maker. I since put a net in front of the propeller section. Poorly designed, as i lost 2 fish to the fish-shredder-wave-maker 😒

    • @King_Henry
      @King_Henry  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      +刘志刚 I don't own a tuka fish, but they are carnivores, and from what I've found so far on internet, they will eat frozen Mysis Shrimp, Brine Shrimp, and will thrive with in a tank with a refugium....It looks like they need a lot of swimming space also---70 Gallon tank or more. Other than that, it doesn't look too hard. Good Luck! They also can change sexes. If the male perishes in a school, the largest female will change to male.
