Thank you for sharing so much knowledge with us newcomers. I have learned so much from your videos and I feel so much more comfortable following your advice than I do with others I've watched on here.

Your videos are very honest and informative while still being very interesting. I started a reef tank several years back with lots of conflicting and sometimes confusing information and at the time was just when LED lighting was taking off. Made many stupid mistakes and wasted lots of money and fish and corals. Second time around I will be taking it very very slow and will be setting up a system that is smaller and more manageable maybe around 100 to 150 litres max. I will be focusing on stable parameters and maintaining water changes through an auto water change system.

Thanks for taking your time and explaining it so carefully, not going to lie, I have been tempted to go to the ‘build’ but have resisted and am enjoying the build up (probably because I can binge watch them) 😀

Would you recommend vacuuming the tank sand or just stirring it up now and again?

Absolutely love this series I have just got a fluval evo 52l and the way you explain everything is the best i have seen so far all in layman's terms. I am struggling to find all the links to the full series is there any chance you can send me a link

Indubitably. I prefer oolite these days if I choose to use a substrate. Any larger particle sized sand is really a remnant of the days of under gravel filters and holds too much detritus in my experience. In any case, I appreciate your perspective and enjoy testing my 40+ years of experience against other hobbyists new and old!

Looking forward to future videos, I'm curious to learn if you're going to pick a media basket setup, maybe you'll build one or maybe you have a favorite.

Stuart have you considered combining your channels and keeping your fish in a clear ‘petrol’ tank on your bike?
Would be like a living picture as you rode down the street

Would there be any reason for not using putting to hold rock together? I'd be scared of it coming apart and falling. Is it safe to do?
    Thanks

No real need to on a small tank like this but you can if you would prefer.

Have you ever collected and used sand you collected from the beaches in the Caribbean or West Indies? I have a fluval 5 evo with sand from Grenada. I wonder if that has contributed to the tanks stability.

I have never had any algae in my 10 gallon! Not a speck and I don't have a skimmer, maybe because I followed brs advise and didn't add coral or turn on light on for 3 months
