    What a video! Bursting out turnips. I started kratky hydrophonics six months ago. The produce was a disaster 😂 trying again this season, hoping it will be better this time😊.

    What kind of fertilizer is made? Is it the same for all types of vegetables and fruits? Thank you for your efforts.

    Have you tried potatos or carrots?

    • @healinghobbies
      @healinghobbies  ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Yes I did but in a double bucket. I actually just pulled my carrots experiment today. I was pleasantly surprised as they are looking healthy. However the taproot were smaller than expected. I think I have an idea as to why and will continue to do the experiments in fall. I am guessing inconsistent nutrient supply as the bucket can only hold about 2 liters and there were instances I missed to refill them and they get dry😀. I will share some updates and photos in the community section in the next few days. With the potatoes, I will pull them too this week, I can already see few of them coming out. 🌱🙂

      ❤ this! Can this also be done with Beets? I haven’t seed such large Styrofoam trays before either. Where did you found them?

    • @healinghobbies
      @healinghobbies  ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Yes, I'm currently growing beets, onions, garlic and celery on the same set up. Please feel free to check the community section, where I share some of the photos and updates of the current experiments and ideas. The styrofoam is a DIY grow box. I also made a video on how to make them. Other alternative is tote containers or any of the same type. What I like with stryoboxes is, it also serve as an insulation specially in summer if you are growing outdoors. They are a bit flimsy though, if you can find 1" thickness size it would be much better, Unfortunately, I can only find 3/4" in home depot. I've been using them mostly in my lettuces and other greens and they work very well for the third season now. But currently, with the root vegetables specially turnips and onions, they get heavy and some of lid edges breaks. I hope this helps! Happy Gardening!🌱🙂
