    My original intention for this humidifier was to use it for plants that require high moisture levels. After using it in my room, th-cam.com/users/postUgkxtD9aJ2m6GU-X1IChQxjn9l31K1A7Kpwj however, I think that's where it is going to stay in the fall and winter season at least. The increased humidity in my room made the room warmer and more comfortable. I had first ran the humidifier for 4 hours with the timer setting for it. After the first hour, I checked my room and can feel the difference. When the full 4 hours was up, I checked again and noticed that the humidifier was shut off as it is suppose to. The moisture level never seem to get passed 56/57%. I then let it run until all the water is used up, which it wasn't all used up. There are still some left in the base that you are not suppose to add water to. I filled up the water tank all the way again, being careful when removing it from the base. Some left over water may spill out. After putting it back on and setting the unit to auto, I let it operate. It didn't stop running, rather I don't know if it did at any point since I didn't check it regularly, for 24 hours after which the water in the tank ran out. The moisture reading never passed 56/57%, which may be a good thing for me. Being situated right next to my bed, the noise was not very noticeable with the occasional water gurgle from time to time as the unit ran.

    This channel never stops coming up with new and interesting gadgets! My basement dehumidifier runs non stop from April to November. I have a Frigidaire and it has been a solid and dependable unit. This one looks interesting although all the Bluetooth items (to me) just make simple things more complicated. Not sure if you mentioned the capacity of this one?

    • @SilverCymbal
      @SilverCymbal  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you, the tank holds 4,2 gallons, some other dehumidifiers hold less than one gallon which is cray! You don't have to use the bluetooth but I absolutely love knowing when its full. In mass many of us have these in basements and totally forget they are full for weeks, sometimes longer until we start selling mold, etc. This one feature is really nice

      I totally agree I actually gave them feedback about that. There is a huge market for a better humidifier too. I want them to make what they did here and do that for us. I would also like to see an option to connect it to a 1/4" water line so you wouldn't have to fill it too. We will have to wait and see!

    • @Condorcounter
      @Condorcounter 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      If you live in Canada or the northern US, every lumber/hardware store should have a drum humidifier to install on your forced air furnace plenum. Almost every house has one installed due to furnaces running long in winter and drying out air.

    bought mine 3 days ago. but it hasnt collected a single drop of water.
    it says i have 31% humidity level and it only goes down to 35% . so i put it on continuous mode and even with 24 hrs of it being on. not a single drop of water was collected.
    is it cus the humidity level is too low? but my previous humidifier would collect water even when it read 30% humidity before it crapped out on me.
    so is it designed to just not collect water under 35% humidity? or is my unit defective?

    • @SilverCymbal
      @SilverCymbal  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Definitely to low. 31% humidity is extremely low. You wouldn't use a dehumdifier for that low.

      well.. according to midea's customer service, the unit SHOULD collect water even at 30% relative humidity. Since this is an electric dehumidifier and not a desiccant.
      they asked that i conduct a "shower test" to check the sensor (turn shower on with hot water to raise humidity and see if the unit collects water).
      Lo and behold, it did not collect any water.
      so i'm returning it tomorrow.
      thanks for the reply tho. hopefully this comment can help others that may run into the same problem.

    I have the media cube plus two Frigidairs. Despite this video, the cube is nothing special. It's no smaller than typical units in its price and performance range, and it is kind of ugly. It's looks like two buckets sitting in the room. I do like the wifi controls, but many brands have this feature. The most notable new dehumidifier of recent years is the huge Frigidaire 60 pint which is much more efficient than units like the cube.
    The best dehumidifier is that one that doesn't break in the first few years of use.

  • @gilbes1139
    @gilbes1139 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    Running a dehumidifier with the window open is very inefficient. If it is more humid outside, that will just draw humidity in that the unit will have to fight with. If it is less humid outside, you don't need a dehumidifier with the window open because you can just exhaust your humid air and draw in dryer air.
