Uganda's Makerere University historically was East Africa's premier University and intellectual hotbed . Kenya VP Oginga Odinga and Uganda President Milton Obote were close friends and both attended Makerere University . VP Oginga Odinga(Kenya Luo) and President Milton Obote(Luo-Langi) started efforts to Unite the Luo groups of Kenya ,Uganda, Tanzania, Congo, Chad, CAR, Sudan/Lower Egypt ,Ethiopia Gambella/Eritrea . Uganda President Yoweri Museveni failed to gain entrance at Makerere University but received a recommendation letter from President Milton Obote to attend University of Dar salaam courtesy of Tanzania president Julius Nyerere who was close friends with Milton Obote .
Kenya's 3rd President Mwai Kibaki attended Makerere University for Economics and graduated top of his class before proceeding to London School of Economics for Masters in Public Finance . Prof Peter Anyang Nyongo(father to Kenya Actress Lupita Nyongo) and current governor of Kisumu Kenya also attended Makerere University and graduated top of his class before proceeding to University of Chicago for MA,Phd in Political Science . He also taught at University of Chicago(President Obama taught at University of Chicago and Michelle Obama was administrator same University) .
Hope guys stopped over speeding while on that Entebbe express road. Ugandans had turned it into a super autobahn where they can drive without a speed limit and cover almost 40km in just 11 minutes!
No one should have to travel to a University Campus for a transcript in this technological age. In the Western World, specifically, here, in the US, everything is done online from the comfort your home. So, Makerere University should improve on that.
