  • You’ll love these delicious cheesecake brownies with a rich, fudgy chocolate base and a light, perfectly sweet cheesecake topping swirled with chocolate. The slight tang of cream cheese really compliments that chocolate flavor and makes for a balanced bite.

    I made this recipe from your blog today. Some steps are missing and i had to watch your video to find them, which was time consuming and frustrating. In the recipe card, you don't mention reserving 1/2 cup of brownie batter for the dollops on the cheesecake. You also forgot to mention what to do with 1 tbsp hot water. These things are in your blog post, but they should also be part of the recipe card and they're not there. When we print recipes, it's the card that prints, so it's important to make sure all steps are there.

  • @trinitylane2202
    @trinitylane2202 ปีที่แล้ว +17

    Note, for anyone, like me, who is going to make these after printing the recipe there are some differences. First - The printed recipe says to use a 8x8 pan but he used a 9x9 in the video. I don't have an 8x8 pan and I jury-rigged my 9x9. Luckily I watched the video before I spread the cheesecake layer, so I scraped the batter into a 9x9 pan. Also, the printed recipe doesn't say to reserve 1/2 cup of the batter so I reserved that when I put the batter into a 9x9 pan. It also says; "Add chocolate-cheesecake spread with skewer." I found that wording really confusing, especially since I didn't know I was supposed to reserve 1/2 cup of batter. Anyhow. It's in the oven and I think it will turn out. What I learned is I should watch the video, print the recipe, and make sure everything is the same.

      Having to go to 3 different places just to make sure you've got the recipe right is probably why I haven't made these yet. I'm not down with running around the net, just to make sure I'm not double and triple checking myself to make sure the dessert comes out correctly.

On the website you say to bake them at 350 for 10 mins then lower temp to 325 and bake for another 30 mins but in your video you say to bake at 350 for 30-35 mins without mentioning to lower temp and in the video you also say to turn off the stove and leave in there for 30 mins so cheesecake don't crack and then to cool in fridge which is not put in your directions on the website. Can you please verify which to follow. Thank you.

    My grandfather was a country gp, who lived by the motto: "everything in moderation."
    One Christmas, about 6-7 years ago, I made cheesecake brownies, something a little bit new and interesting in Australia.
    Before leaving to travel home, I left him with several leftover cheesecake brownies.
    The following week, he rang my mum to chat, and admitted he'd been unwell with a migraine. Concerned, Mum probed him about it further. Finally he admitted it was a chocolate migraine, from gorging on cheesecake brownies! 😂 Cheesecake brownies drove Mr Moderation into madness!
    That's why I need to make this recipe...a fun way to honour my grandpa, who has since passed away. Plus, an excuse to try out newly available lactose free cream cheese! 😉

Now that we have 3 kids my husband and I hopping back into the baking train and I’m so excited. @@staceymaepearlnolan2089 my measurements are not quite the same. i like to watch my sugar intake so, for instance, for 16 oz of cream cheese i would add 1/3 cup of sugar, not 1/2 (especially since the brownie is already very sweet). also, i do fold in whipped heavy cream to my batter as well! gives it a very light and fluffy texture

    The difference between your trivet and a kitchen towel is that the kitchen towel doesn't let the bowl dance - whereas the trivet sways it everywhere and you may actually lose control of the bowl and watch is slide onto the floor. That's the true function of the towel - no sliding, full friction.

    John, you need to talk to your proof reader. I made these according to the written recipe. Under instructions you have line a 9x9 in baking dish.
    Later you write line an eight by eight inch baking Dish. I switched my pan to 8in. And they came out way under cooked. There were no times for different sizes. You used the written number eight as opposed to the number8. It needs to be corrected I just saw the vid and it’s 9 inches. I have brownie soup..

    When you write a recipe for this and omit the part about leaving them in the oven for a half hour after shutting the stove off you leave lots of room for error. Not all stoves lose heat at the same rate so it is assured to give inconsistent results.

    The written baking part of the recipe is different from this. He says to bake at 350 for 10 minutes, then 35 for 325 in the recipe and here he says 350 for 30 minutes, then he says he baked it for 35 minutes. He also says on here to turn off the oven and let it sit for 30 minutes. That would seem to way overbake it unless maybe the over door was propped open.

      Yes. You don't need eggs in a cheesecake. You might want to add a tablespoon of flour, but that's not necessary either, depending on the consistency of your cream cheese (whip it well).
      You can use fruit purée, like mashed bananas, or cooked and mashed apples, or you can add butter milk or similar instead of the eggs to help bind the ingredients and add moisture. The brownie might have a different texture, or flavour, but it can still taste good.
