      It's a good swap to do for sure. RB's are in low supply so get one when you see it!

    Great looking Z! I appreciate all build types but that is probably my favorite look, modest drop, no flairs bumpers on and of course Wantanabis, or at least something similar. I also like to see a few body imperfections and patina. The overall look is a car that has a history. It's been driven a lot and will continue to be driven. Perfect in my opinion.

    somebody should tell that guy that you don't have to bash the limiter every gear change... that's how you crack oil pumps

    Didn't know an RB25 would fit, but if it can, nice! I'm glad that you said in the description that it was turboed, I was going to ask. Which size did you go with since it just says "big turbo"?

    • @sundaydriver_co3526
      @sundaydriver_co3526  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes the Rb series are a great fit for these early Z's. The Rb series is actually based off of the L series that came in these cars which is why they have such a similar sound. I can't remember the turbo specs, you'd need to ask the owner!

      @@sundaydriver_co3526 Ok, that's cool, but yeah, thanks for the info, I've got a friend that has got an old Z and he might love this idea.

    @sundaydriver_co Wish I would have heard that last comment about the RB25's before I got rid of mine. Had 1 in my car and 1 chillin in the corner. ☹ Sent them both about 2 months ago. Hope you find one soon though. 👍🏽

      Shoot! Still on the fence between rb25 and 1jz. Either way its going to be a fun build!

      @@sundaydriver_co3526 Well, if the idea is just about the build and not "Nissan powered Nissan", then I'd say go with the 1J. Its just as cheap or cheaper in some cases, it sounds the same as the RB25 (to my ears) and the power can be had easier with less money or reliability issues. I had plans to build an RB25/30, but I'm so late to the party of building my Z that the price of the RB30 short block is so elevated that I changed my mind about the whole build! I said to myself, for the price of a RB30 short block, I could buy a 2JZ. So... I sold my RB25's and bought a 2JZ and more parts! If the RB26 wasn't so expensive, maybe I would have thought twice about it, but a 1JZ or 2JZ versus an RB25... It just made since to me to part ways. But I guess its more about your budget and what you have access to. Plus, what your power goals are. Which is why some guys go LS. I understand it all. But for my money, I got the right engine for me. Either way, I'm looking forward to post about your build. That's the most exciting part to me. The build up! The driving just makes me happy. 😁

      @@carterlrae Totally. My thought with the Toyota engine is reliability with that great jz sound and from what I have heard better build quality and ability to take hp levels (thicker cylinder walls ect.) In a perfect world I would too go for the rb26 being that it is a Nissan and was built as a race motor first and has proven to handle lots of power even near stock. With Z's being as light as they are I'm not looking to make crazy power levels and I have no doubt that the 1jz could easily handle.

      @@sundaydriver_co3526 Agreed to everything you said. Which is why I made the switch. But like I said, I'm looking forward to more videos of your build either way.
