It was a pleasure hanging out with you this week. You are a class act. My TH-cam career stepped up a bit when I “Yee-Hawed” past you at the water bottle graveyard.
That would be the mighty Matt Lieto on uke. He was covering the racing live on IG courtesy his e-Cervélo, and then MC'ed podiums back in camp each night. Also serving gelato with Castelli. And probably some other stuff I was oblivious to.
I love the vibe of these videos lately. Not many people I'd run all the way through a half hour event and bike video but I just enjoy the virtual attendance along with the information. Somehow you're making the side takes and interruptions work brilliantly. Looking forward to the next one.
Great video! I like the format of showing the ride and riding conditions before the bike review, which puts the review in context. And welcome to the Bend and Cascades area. We have a ton of gravel riding options in this area.
Great video, you championing that gravel spirit! Been a while since I watched you handle a flattie! Even your dynamic plug was …what? I gotta perform now? LOL. Thanks for taking us along Ben.
Young kids keep me from attending this event (and training for that matter) but I hope it keeps going strong and I can make it happen in the next couple years. Looks like such an amazing set of routes.
Having heart failure is the main reason I'm collecting my new Revolt Advanced Pro 0 this week, but OMG, that course would finish me off within 15 minutes I reckon, so completing it, I hold my head up high to you. I have a question, with clipless pedals, how often did you apply some grease during the 5 days, OR maybe you didn't as the grease attracts the dust
Great video, thanks! Quite the disappointment that Giant didn't include the UDH... Still on my shortlist for my gavelbike though. Together with the Propain Terrel. Unfortunately reviews of that Propain are hard to find.
very nice and useful review, thank you! how privileged you people are ... the landscape, just "wow" and what a cute dog this is ❤ if you don't mind - did you speak extra slowly and clearly for the audience, or is this just your daily spoken tempo & dialect ... just curious, because I could understand so well
Again a super video, and wow looks like a great chill event. But you're really all over the world to, not so long ago you where in the EU.! Keep it coming
Another great video thanks. This race is practically in my backyard so cool to see you out here. It’s on my list to do, but I haven’t made it yet. Keep up the great videos!
I was at the event and completed the pioneer it was vicious harder than anything I have done . I also was on a Giant Revolt 22 version with Shimano two by 48/31 front and 11/40 it worked great. I am looking for a Revolt that has down shocks up front . By flipping the chip I can put 2.2s on , I didn’t but wish I had. I was also able to meet you and talk with you a bit that was nice. I would do the event again ,but not without 2.2s and front shocks. Thanks for the video and review.😃🚵♀️
Awesome video! btw I just bought a one myself I have found un unexpeted problem with the internal routing in the stem area, looks to me you have done some modification to accomodate the computer wahoo/garmin mount, am I right?
That was a fun video! Looks like an EPIC and well run event. Great way to introduce a bike :). Any word on what BB standard the bike uses? Looks like some kind of press-fit, but I can't find the specifics. Guessing it's BB86 (like the previous rev), but would be great if you could confirm. Thanks.
I know you love those tires but it might be time for a change. Having said that, do your punctures only come when racing? That could be a sign of poor line sights.
Great video! I'm curious: as folks move to short travel full suspension flat bars with aero to set records on Great Divide...why are all the gravel folks so committed to drop bars and road bike tech? As an Oregonian, I see no benefit to what might work in the flats of the flint hills...bigger tires, frame bags to hold your water...seems to me folks thought their rigs from Unbound would be great here. I totally disagree. A basic hardtail would probably be best on this ride.
Reminds me of the AIDS Lifecycle ride that I do .... 545miles over 7 days from SF to LA. It's not a race but they haul all our gear from campsite to campsite. We have to put up and take down our own tents.
Mammoth Tuff same with face cover needed to keep dust out from fine volcanic soil. Wider tires required not from comfort fully more floating on the top loose dirt when needed. Not sinking into the loose soil that results slower pace to walking to four letter words not for public ears. Oregon trail stage race on my to do list.
With sram axs you can. But you'd have to buy mtb axs shifters, mtb brakes and a flatbar. re do the cables. At this point, I would suggest to buy a mtb, or a beach bike (a mtb converted to a gravelbike with a rigid fork).
@YannickLB which giant model would you suggest for my 6'2" body...I weigh 210lbs but also want to do bikepacking and touring with this bike so need a low
30 36 gears sounds too high in gear inches for steep climbs. My Surly is 1x11 and have 34t chainring and 11-52 cassette on 27.5x2.1 gravelking sk+ tires.
Nice event; the flip chip seems like a "pro" directed item that is not that advantageous to the average rider. Most people aren't changing out chains to run multiple tire sizes. I UDH would have been more marketable IMO to the average rider to future proof the frame. That Revolt looked like gimmickry more that a huge change, but they gotta sell those new pricey bikes.

Because it is our shared history. My family escaped war and poverty as imperialism ravaged Eastern Europe to settle in Oregon via the Oregon Trail. They were people - flawed but decent, just as those who already had lived there and been decimated by disease and war in their turn. Liberalism ascribes to personal moral choice what are actually tectonic forces of history. Good to be with you, Lance. Keep on yee-haw'in'.
The Uke player was priceless, worth the cost of admission. Definitely an event to stop and smell the roses.

Everybody loves Alex. Will keep bugging him...

Looks magical man. I’m saying that with ❤
I’m stuck at work right now working 12 hr shifts and this looks beautiful
Rad vid! Stoked to share a moment near the top of stage 5 climb one, that was a brutal day on the body.
looks like a cool event/race/camping. If I was into camping, that would be a sweet vacation.
Looks like an amazing event!
Thanks for a great video. Watched it from start to finish with great presentation of scenery, the event and the bike.
Glad you enjoyed it.

Fantastic event and video. Thanks a lot Ben.

It's PressFit, yeah. Dub for the SRAM bikes, FSA BB-AL86 for the most affordable Shimano bikes.

Great jump

Yeah, almost exclusively when racing. I mean, I couldn't tell you the last time I had to plug a gravel tire when just out riding.
Ahhh, the doggy…. U want to melt hearts of the new subscribers…good move, good event, good video 👌 good bike, I guess
Great race! Why Schwalbe g-one R over RS? Just going to buy one of those ;)
Because that is what Schwalbe had at the event.

damn i have to rewatch that video, i kept looking at that doggo
Can you review the Schwable G-One overland, which is the tire that won Unbound.
I've raced a '22 Giant Revolt with Rival AXS Groupset for two seasons now without an issue. I'm a bit perplexed.
Was that the dreaded SRAM front chainring drop?
Ben do you have a spreadsheet of the tire clearance of all the bikes you've tested?
I do have a spreadsheet where I track geo and notes. I haven't gone through and done tire clearance on all of them, but I should.
total stage 5 PTSD watching that :)

@ben, same tire as Unbound?
How much does the whole experience cost price wise ?
I have one on order, is it possible to slam the stem?
Almost entirely, yes. The hoses route into the frame so the bottom spacer has to stay.
@@TheRidewithBenDelaney Thanks mate, are you able to send me some close up photos?
Is the BB threaded?
Still press fit
Is the steerer D shaped or round? And can you swap the stem for one from another manufacturer.
Steerer is standard 1 1/8 and you can swap, you just need to wrestle with the spacers a bit.
@@TheRidewithBenDelaney thank you ☺️
1x12 for me please. 42t front 10-50 In the back. Gx axs mullet setup, yes please 👌 never dropped a chain
Damn this looks amazing just too much climbing for this heavy weight lol
Where can i buy that cap youre wearing?
On my website when I get them back in stock later this summer. Thanks for asking.
Looks like fun, riding n camping for 5 days
Divided on this vs the comparable Cannondale Topstone.
Your daughter must finally be pleased
What size tires are those? Sorry if I missed it 😅
45 to replace the stock 40. They were great for all but the last day, where I would happily have gone bigger.

Looks like an awesome event. Bigger tires are better; Dylan Johnson making 10th at Unbound running 2.2in tires. This it's where things are going.
Where’s Chris Horner?
Hope you avoided the dysentery.
Always liked the Revolt but the seat post dicky setup and the front stem spacers are a turnoff for me and I would always run a Redshift Shock stem.
You can easily swap out the spacers for any standard round ones (i used Hope ones along with a Hope top cover) and run a redshift stem 👍🏻
@@TheAndyWhite Yes but now it has internal cable routing. So I figured that was going to be a factor.
