    Thank you so much for this video tutorial because I had no idea what to do with that thing but knew I needed one! Going to use it for my next feeding with baby boy as I've been engorged...love the balloon demonstration AND THE MUG because I am SUPER clumsy and will cry over spilled milk.

    I'm pregnant with my third baby and I'm learning so much more with you than with the nursing class I did before. I had low milk supply with the first two and I'm so hopeful for this new one. Thank you!

    Does this pump work when you already have low supply? (1-3 ounce )in 15 mins pumping sessions ?

    • @PrenatalYini
      @PrenatalYini  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      It will help collect your let downs from the opposite breast while nursing even with low milk supply. But it may not be the most effective/efficient way to increase milk supply. A complete history is needed for an individualized plan.

      Great question! The Haakaa may help in removing extra milk but may not be the most effective/efficient method for someone with low milk supply. A complete history and individualized plan of care is needed in these situations.

    • @annabrauch6487
      @annabrauch6487 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      You shouldn't. Just breastfeed. I see lots of moms who get breast damage and inflammation from haakaa. It is really not a necessity for establishing supply.

    • @PrenatalYini

    Can I combine my milk with previous pumped milk from my Hakka like from an earlier session?

    • @PrenatalYini
      @PrenatalYini  4 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Hi! Milk from different sessions CAN be combined ONLY when both are at the same temperature. DO NOT combine room temperature and cold milk. BOTH need to be at same temperature. You can store individually and then combine when they each reach the same temperature. Hope this helps!

    Is it possible to start producing more milk by pumping.my baby is one month old now and i am not producing enough milk

    • @PrenatalYini
      @PrenatalYini  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Absolutely! Initiating breast pumping or increasing the number of pumping sessions while using the correct flange size should increase milk production. Allow up to 7 days to notice a difference. Check out my pumping videos for more guidance .

  • @Christy.Sotolongo
    @Christy.Sotolongo 3 ปีที่แล้ว +5

    To make sure I understand: Baby nurses on breast 1 while I use light suction on breast 2 with Haaka. Then nurse baby on breast 2 with deeper suction on breast 1.
    Once baby finishes nursing on breast 2 should I use Haaka again? Or should that end the nursing session?

    • @PrenatalYini
      @PrenatalYini  3 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Correct! Only use the Haakaa while baby is nursing on either breast. After baby is done nursing, you’re done with the Haakaa too.

  • @annabrauch6487

    A haakaa is NOT needed to establish a supply or "prevent" low supply. Also a haakaa is NOT a pump, it is a passive milk collector, it will not provide stimulation to keep supply up like a baby or pump. This is bad information - as an IBCLC you should be practicing more ethically.

    • @apebass2215
      @apebass2215 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +8

      To describe it as "passive" is incorrect, it applies a light vacuum.

    • @annabrauch6487
      @annabrauch6487 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@apebass2215it's literally what they are called, passive milk collectors. Exactly because all they do is apply light suction. I'm a board certified lactation consultant.
