      I actually have the Spectra S2 and neither of the funnels fit, I’ve tried them both. I don’t use a high vacuum level and still get too much areola in the funnel. Its a great pump I absolutely love the pump.

    I am a first time mom and our baby is 5 weeks old. I selected the Spectra 1 when it’s time to return to work and have to start pumping. This video was so informative and helpful. No one has ever told me that women have more than one let down.

    Omg I wish I would have watched this before I started using my pump! 😢 😢 I have been using the size 24 mm and I think I should have went up to the 28mm because now my right breast nipple has what looks like rug burn. I thought all the suction cups were the same size like you mentioned is a common issue. 😅😅😅😅You are a god send!!

      You’re actually supposed to get fitted or size yourself! These sizes are just standard so you can buy inserts to fit you! These hardly ever work without causing damage to your nips because the sizes are huge! It’s made to fit in inserts nobody nipples are actually this big.

    I did a trial with my pump following the instructions for this video. I did the 2 min let down/massage mode then did about 8-10 min on 50 for sucks and 4 for strength of pull. I got about 3 oz. I’m nervous and excited to add pumping into our breastfeeding routine. Thanks for this video

    Thanks for sharing! Quick question, I'm an overproducer should I be pumping every 2-3 hrs like my baby would feed? And then stop after I get the amount he eats? Or do I still pump until there's no more milk? Also can I combine to pump a couple times a day instead of every 2-4 hrs? Thanks!

    Hi. So i get confused, some moms tell me to just have baby latch, no pumping for the first 2 weeks. Others say keep pumping every 2 hrs. But im not really sure if baby is actually getting milk from latching. How do you know when baby is actually getting milk from breastfeeding? Im not sure if i see him actually swallow when he's latching.

    I just used your video to set up my pump and pump for first time!!! I hope I did it right. When do you stop for the second let down? I think I stopped flowing but I wasn’t positive. And then by time I did that mode I was at 23 minutes so I powered it off after the let down and hand expressed. I collected like 3 ounces total and stayed at the 38 cycle setting and level 5 for most of the session. Anything I should have done differently? My baby latches most every time but sometimes we have issues. I use the Haaka a lot and collect almost an ounce every time but I wanted to incorporate the pump in case my supply wasn’t good. No idea what I’m doing really. I don’t plan to pump more than once a day in the morning just to keep things going. Does that sound about right for someone who has a good supply already with feeding baby? Thank you for your help you are AWESOME!

    I appreciate this video, I see I have been using my pump incorrectly. I notice after pumping for a while I have to pull my skin back to make sure the milk is coming out of my.nipple. is that normal? Because of this I can't pump both at the same time and also because each of my breast requires a different flange size.

    • @PrenatalYini
      @PrenatalYini  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi. If you have a double electric pump, you can pump both breasts at the same time even when using different flange sizes. If too much areola is going into the flange tunnel, the sizing is not ideal.

    My baby was premature and underweight at the time of birth. Latching had become difficult as she used to sleep due to which she was not getting sufficient milk and her weight was going down. Thus, we switch to formula.
    On the other hand my milk flow had gone down drastically. I am only able to pump few drops of milk using my spectra s2 pump.
    Now my baby is 3 months old and her weight has come to a normal range. Is there any way I can increase my milk flow?
    Would you suggest any supplements?

    • @PrenatalYini
      @PrenatalYini  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      With the right support, plan, and supplements you may increase milk production. A thorough medical history is needed to determine the best supplements for you. Every mom is different. Consider scheduling a consult with an IBCLC. Moringa is overall great at supporting lactation. amzn.to/3nJb9Wi

    I have not been able to pump more than 0-10ml. Ive played around with cycles. Ive used two to three letdowns, still not helping.

Both pumps can be used for single or double pumping. Hope this helps.

    I am a FTM, I exclusively breast pump due to latching problem. My baby is 48days old. I generally pump every 5-6 hours and I get minimum of 80ml from each breast, is it sufficient?? From past 2 days,I am trying to pump every 2-3 hours to increase my milk supply,but I am only getting 80-100ml in total from both the breasts. I use spectra S2 with massage mode for 2min in d beginning and switch to expression mode with 46cycle and level 11combo, increasing it to 54 cycle and level 11combo by the end of pumping. I pump for 30 minutes every time. From past 2 days, it’s very painful to pump even in low cycle of 38 and level 5. Am I doing it in right way??

      Thank you for sharing. Pumping should not be painful. Try pumping at a lower level and ensure you’re using the correct flange size for your needs. Watch my video on increasing milk supply (includes a section on pumping).

    Can you convert this breast pump to pump into bags?

    • @PrenatalYini
      @PrenatalYini  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes! You can insert the bags inside the milk containers that come with your pump and screw them on like you would normally. After pumping, take the bags out and store following CDC guidelines. Hope this helps!

      I am a mother of 3 week old. I am trying to exclusively pump but I am not sure how will my body know to make more milk as my baby grows. Should we pump more time as the baby grows older or should I increase more pumping sessions ?

    • @NChaitra
      @NChaitra 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@MrSpandana88 you should pump often, every 3 hours atleast. It’s important for the first 12 weeks when your supply is still regulating. Once that’s done, you can pump 7 times a day and gradually decrease it too. Follow @pump_momma_pump on Instagram for more tips. She’s very good

    Is it true that we need to pump 12 times a day to keep our supply or bring it in?
