    Thanks for video! It's very interesting to hear different audio systems. I want to suggest you play some uncopyrighted R&B and Hip-Hop music. It will be great to hear this genres!

    You are filling a nice niche in the market of reviewing manufacturer's audio systems. Great video!

    Hey man thanks for making this kind of videos. I loved it
    It will be more nice if you play some NCS songs for bass test

    • @DailyMotor
      @DailyMotor  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks! NCS songs bump for sure! We'll consider it, but we have to be careful of copyrights, and we also have to be able to get uncompressed downloads. But I agree, we should get a heavier bass song.

    I have the 2020 crv touring with the subwoofer. When I adjust the subwoofer all the way up or down, I don't hear any difference. I have a feeling it's not working. Is it a big noticeable difference for you with it turned up or down?

    Thanks for another great, honest review. Most reviewers never say anything bad about the car so I really appreciate your pointing out the horrendous sound setup in most (if not all) Honda products. Also, the loud Honda interiors don’t help the sound either. I don’t mind the bad infotainment UI as long as it has CarPlay and a touchscreen.

    Hi. Thanks for the review. I was wondering replacing the stock speakers for the CRV 2020 ,without adding amp nor changing, will improve the sound quality? if yes do you recommend any speakers?

    • @brothermike3866
      @brothermike3866 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I have a 2021 CRV touring and it has the same mid range muddied sound like the 2020. Would also love to hear input on good rich sounding speakers but keep the original infotainment system. A speaker comes to mind is Infinity kappa perfects. I’m guessing I should add better amp and sub as well.

    • @loganle1043
      @loganle1043 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@brothermike3866 you definitely need an amp. I just added one. It helped a lot. Upgrading the speakers themselves isn't enough because they are power hungry

    Good video. Always wondered how the touring 9 speaker system looked like and sounded like. Thanks.

    I would have loved to hear any aftermarket options. Especially one with a multi bend equaliser. I’m still getting around in a 2003 CRV. The good old days of double-din slots … love my aftermarket Kenwood system with 13 band equaliser. Would like to know what to do with today’s car manufacturers with theses systems that are like an iPad mounted to the dash.

    Thanks Charlie. I appreciate your talents - good test methodology and choice of music. I agree with your evaluation. My only confusion was the score - 4.5 out of 5 I assume, but that feels very generous, I think. I'd rate this as 4.5 of 5 for a standard package, but only 3 of 5 for a premium. We're buying a new CR-V this year and I was wondering if the 9 speaker system was worth the upgrade price. Clearly not (yet).

    • @DailyMotor
      @DailyMotor  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thanks! Sorry it took so long for me to see your comment. It was actually a 4.5 out of 10. Definitely not a great score :/ Honda has a ways to go with their audio.

      No because my sister owns this car as well with the 8 speaker package I believe and it’s quite good actually with a balanced smooth sound that isn’t overly emphasized in any ways

    To me, this system sounds fine and i kinda agree with you, Honda's non-branded audio systems don't sound that good. I heard this system in real life (My mom's 2018 CR-V ) and yea it sounds decent and loud but the bass vibrates everything. Pretty sad honda audio systems sound bad without modification.

  • @alex1234770

    I used to have a 2017 honda crv exl with the base 8 speaker audio. Stock sounded awful so I ended up doing full system with rockford components, dsp, 4 channel, and amp and 2 rockford 12s. It wasnt a tough upgrade but it sounded pretty darn good afterwards.

    I know I'm late but better than never. The audio system is noticeably bad and it depicts exactly of an old radio that's reached it's highest signal. When you go to FM then you kind of want to lower the volume. But when you get to other genres that uses cymbals like metal, then it feels like you're hearing screeching. The infotainment is so outdated and slow that it'll piss you off. I actually have this car now but I'm willing to trade it in because the controls are too complicated and out of place. In terms of sound system, I guess the bose equinox can annihilate the crv. There are other cars that I'm willing to see.

      Just bought a slightly used 2020 Honda CRV EX-L and the audio is terrible! Sounds like I’m riding with two Bluetooth speakers up front. Almost no bass response and there’s no presence of any of the rear speakers. I’m not sure if Honda’s problem is their infotainment system or just really cheap speakers? If I upgraded the door sub I’ll probably have add an amplifier. I’m no audiophile and I’ve never upgraded a car audio system but it’s truly unbearable when listening to music… it sounds like I have 2 small Bluetooth speakers up front for my audio

  • @TYPICALTRYHARD_

    The middle speaker from experience I had an mdx 2019 the center speaker was used for navigation like telling you that your exit was coming up which I accidentally found out when I was trying to turn down my audio as it was telling me to take a turn and afterwards the music volume stayed the same honestly kinda weird but I guess is so your music doesn't get interrupted as much when the navigation voice comes on

  • @sharune007
    @sharune007 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    Yeah totally agree. This is a shitty sound system!! Do you find that the rear speakers are not as loud as the front? And do you think that since there's a sub, that somewhere in the car, there's gotta be amplifier? I had a 2018 crv and traded it in for this.The stereo was much louder and highs and lows were much better. Much good and better features were not included in this piece a shit. Sorry Bro but this is really disappointing. I hate having to get into the freaking car! Thanks for the video. I thought that I was the only person that felt so!! If you find an amplifier, let me know.

    I have a 2020 Honda CRV. When I have the AM radio on and then drive by a radio or cell tower, I hear a very loud buzzing static noise. It is so loud that I can’t understand what the the talk show is saying. This happens every time I drive by one! I took my CRV into the Gunn Honda service department a few months after I bought it. They drove my CRV and another identical CRV by the cell towers and both cars replicated the loud buzzing static. So they said that all 2020 Honda CRVs have the same “feature”... I said “You mean defect!” They refused to fix the problem and Honda Corporate would not help me either. They justified their final decision by using the disclaimer that says the radio may experience some static. All my other Hondas never had this problem. I am so disappointed and frustrated with both my CRV and Gunn Honda. And yes, the stereo system in general is a 4.5.

    Dude of course the default settings is not going to be perfect for your particular style that you like to listen to and your particular taste. You try to sound like you know what you’re talking about and it’s obvious you don’t have any real professional audio experience. Your track that you were trying to show people the quality with is a very poor track for checking audio quality. All electronic with very mid heavy and utterly noncomplex bass and lacking any acoustic instrumentation. The one acoustic guitar track you played was obviously a poorly recorded indie track as the guitar was not even fully in tune. Please use quality tracks and do some studying. Also if there is a speed control volume (just spit balling here not sure if it does have one) then that adds additional compression which shows up especially in the mid range muddiness.

    • @damienlobb85
      @damienlobb85 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Honda's unbranded stock systems are really not great. I don't see why you're so harsh on him in defense of a sound system that is "okay" at best and was most likely an afterthought like most base/mid range infotainment systems. Like he said, the stock unit is 300-odd watt. That's 60w per speaker. Or more realistically 50w per door and 100w for the sub. Not to mention, he probably has more experience testing in car stock systems. He has many many videos testing all different cars from low end all the way up to 10 speaker premium branded systems. You're being hugely assumptious here, and if you don't like his opinion on the sound system then why are watching? It's clear you are looking for people to validate your views on the audio.

      Hopefully Bose optional premium audio in new Civic will be an improvement. We have a 2019 CRV EX-L and it should have a better audio system for the price of the vehicle. Also Honda should have def. put a speaker into center dash. I think non U.S. models have one.
