Super stoked you got value from this 🤘🏽 if you find yourself needing more detail my most recent vid goes through similar stuff but more in depth 😊🫱🏽🫲🏼
@@chibuzonweze3291 Let’s go!!! It’s all about nuances and trying different things in a controlled way, resolve has so much power but we’re the ones that have to finesse that power 👌🏽 super grateful for this comment.
Hahah this was brilliant. Thanks for the entertaining video but also informative. Is there a reason you do noise reduction at the start and not the end?
GO ON MY LAD PAT! Appreciate you brotha, and yes a few reason: Noise Reduction at the start of the node tree can help to preserve the image integrity. It gives us a cleaner starting point. It can also help to improve the colour data which can help by removing the gunk out areas like the highs/mids/lows. And if we place NR at the start it can help with our key selections, cleaner isolations within our qualifier. Let me know if that helps 🫱🏽🫲🏼
@ thanks for the reply I appreciate this. I’m a director at heart but got into grading and now I love it. So I’m trying to up-skill myself. Last question I know all the capabilities of why Raw codecs are good but in a color grade does it give you that much more. guess what I’m asking is would having Raw make the grade look that much better (cinematic). I’m contemplating unlocking pro res raw on my Ronin 4D but £900 for the license, I could also by a new lens.
You’re an artist bro, a multifaceted artist thats the main thing to remember, you’re falling in love with different parts of the craft and that’s great! The key thing to take into consideration with your question my guy is everything has its limitation, even our eye, but with 16-bit raw you get access to around 281 trillion colours opposed to the 1 billion in 10-bit log, this in itself unlocks a whole new dimension of colour and how far you can push it. The dynamic range is a matter of a few stops, so you need to determine how clean and precise of an image you want to translate over to your audience. Hope that helps
@ it does massively thanks for the feedback. This makes so much sense I edited a project I shot in raw and took like 5TB but since I have not got t he same results though I used same camera and lens and light. The context has been different but I was not sure if I was seeing what I wanted to see or if I definitely had stronger results editing in raw. Anyway do you a a website if anything comes in that has a bigger budget I’ll holla at you for sure.
Glad to be an OG here!
