Despite the smack talking kids on this page, I found this episode of your Tactical Impact Season1 disk-set to be really informative, back when it came out. In all of my time, I had never heard the M1 described as a PDW. It broadened my interest in ballistics, as well as 'power on target at distance'. And the relation between different calibers for various purposes...Good stuff, thanks.
Love the HK MP5, after over 50 years in operation and now with the mid-life installment upgrades. The perfect subgun which couldn't get any better just did...Awesome video Larry👍🏻
Problem is that it is getting old. For example we have new technology which is making better and better firearms. The mp5 is amazing and will always be on the top 3 list of best sub machineguns but now adays we do have better stuff example being better modularity and more ambidextrous also simple things like mp5 diesnt have a bolt hold open when the gun finishes the last round also arguably a lack of rails and places for attachments yes it did get a makeover and has a but if rail room or you can buy rails to put on but thats just my 2 cents. The mp5 is an amazing weapon and will always be remembered on anyone's top 10 guns or top 3 smg that said it is starting to show its age.
I simply feel that it must be said that I truly enjoyed & appreciated every single episode... and they continue to stand the test of time (which certainly cannot be said of but a few of it's contemporaries... and forget about predecessors [again, for a sublime few]). Thank you, sincerely, to absolutely ALL involved in the work/passion that brought such a "vehicle of tactical AND practical intelligence to those of us who are truly WOKE. Thank you all!
Wow this is possibly the best video you've put together yet. Fun and informative. The one thing I think it was missing was an ultra compact 300 blackout PDW AR.
hahah airsoft alert lol thats funny and made me rotfl hahaha. Anyone who does a bit of research would see that the p90 performed way better in all of the NATO's test the p90 out preformed the mp7 and also the 5.7 round is was better in the ballistics department.
I would have to say that the coach gun was the first PDW I can think of if not the Colt revolver. Don't get me wrong. I love an M1 Carbine. Super fun and effective, but I don't know that I would call it the first to be designed for that roll.
ComradNemo both have Oakleys...maybe start there. one might be the half jacket with ballistic clear lenses. ESS and WileyX make good ones too. As long as they're not scratched, I'll use anything.
when using a vehicle (or obstacle) as cover, is it generally better to be a meter or so back from cover so as to avoid bullets deflecting off the cover, and to not get bunched up or visually impaired by the cover itself?
hey larry did you ever do work with Jasson Falla Because I fell like I watched and show on youtube that had both you guys on it but I Can't remember what it was? also who do you think have better operators Australia or US?
Sometimes that is what you got, especially if you are the driver and you get ambushed and you jump out to return fire but what you have is your sidearm since you can't drive with a MP5 or AR across your lap too well. You make do as best you can with what you have when it goes down. You don't get to pick the time and place for a gunfight when you are a target.
Does Larry Vickers make new content? cause these vids arent bad but having already seen them...what is he doing now and why not be making stuff now obviously he is quite knowledgeable.
I've never fired a pistol. Is there a noticble change in firing your first shot of the M9 in condition one to follow up shot. I own an airsoft version and if I did the same it would require a longer trigger pull for the first and a shorter one for the second sht.
Hi Steven, I was just reading comments and I see yours is fairly recent and had no reply; so let's see if I can help. First, airsoft is a good way of training and if anyone gives you crap about it (and they might) then those are the people you certainly ignore regarding firearms advice because they are a-holes. Next, there are many videos on TH-cam about the Beretta M9 (92F) but not all are worth watching. I recommend hickcock45 as one of the best gun channels on TH-cam. You might also checkout Nutnfancy, sootch00, and YankeeMarshall. These guys are worth watching. And now, to specifically answer your question...The M9 is called a single/double action because the first pull is long and hard...then the slide pushes the hammer back...and from then on each trigger pull is very light and crisp. This type of firearm is NEVER carried with a cocked hammer, and in fact, the safety will automatically decock the hammer safely. Although technically possible, you could thumb-cock the hammer yourself before the first shot to eliminate the long trigger pull, but this is not recommended. Also, when you do rack the slide to chamber a round, the hammer is then cocked. But essentially the M9 is carried with a round in the chamber, and some people also carry with the safety off. This is because the long first pull makes an accidental discharge unlikely, compared to a striker fired gun which always has the same fairly easy trigger pull. And that reminds me of one other excellent person to watch and I highly recommend Paul Harrell. He's an excellent instructor and he has a video on how to properly fire the M9 especially regarding that first trigger pull. Well, this is probably more information than you requested, but hopefully it helps you and anyone else who might have read this far. Good Luck! -Peace {Tampa Bay 9/8/18}
Hey Larry, I'm a left handed shooter and was wondering how to perform a speed reload on aN M4 style rifle while shooting lefty. When shooting righty, you can check the bolt and flip the mag out in one motion, ready to insert a fresh mag. Shooting lefty, this requires you to flip it out and then move the gun back to put a new mag in. Is there a different technique for reloading this way lefty?
Morena Mordegard still an SMG; it was something that found it’s way onto the frontline because even though the PPSH-41 was well mass-produced the soviets still needed a cheaper alternative.
As Col. Arthur Alphin demonstrated, both rifles have their pros and cons - in the end however, factors such as discipline and the unshakable, daunting, mind numbing *DRILL* can truly bring out the best of both weapons. The double barrel would be a waste in that situation. id go with ol bess
The delay in shouting "threat" before engaging is counterproductive. The fact that someone is engaging clearly identifies that there is a threat; each time they run through that scenario there is almost a one second delay from ID-ing the threat, calling it, and then engaging. Also, magazines in belt holsters should be facing rearwards as the awkward wrist movement to turn the wrist through 180 degrees to load it means you lose dexterity.
Did you know Larry Vickers was one of the early members of the Army's Delta Force? He's the real deal, a combat vet and a bad ass commando. I just watch and learn from him. Just my opinion, and I agree with you on the magazine position. -peace!
I like how Aaron always checks left to right before he puts it on safe, reminds me of instructor zero lol. yes we know your good and a bad ass just like you know your filming a video haha not in battle so you know that your left and right are safe haha
Having that discipline during training an target shooting builds that foundation and habit so if you ever find yourself in a situation you are fully prepared.
100,000 percent true mp5 and m1 carbine rule inside and indores wounce you go outside1 at range they fail ! outside look at a jp ar 15 .3 moa 5shot groups at 100 yards with load devolopment!
P90 = JAM-O-MATIC. That’s why the Secret Service got rid of the Full Auto trigger packs. That gun is a liability in full auto UNLESS you use the perfect ammunition. Would never trust my life with that gun. I’ll take a 10.5 mk18 ANY DAY over that junk.
But the P90 is not really a pistol caliber carbine as the round was made to be used in a PDW, like the MP-7-P90. A 90, especially hidden under clothing is more compact and the barrel length made for its standard ammo. Has the traditional SMG become less relevant and important, yes. But to say they are obsolete is hyperbolic. Then you look at the newer PDWs they are just a smaller package than a short barrel AR15. 9mm performs just great from 5-8" barrel. 5.56 from the same barrel length? Practically useless. Remember the 5.56 as it fashioned was made around a 20" barrel platform. 9mm? Not so.
Matt Canipe Well the P90 and the Five seven pistol were developed at the same time to fullfill a Nato request. There are 45-70 revolvers, but that does not make 45-70 a handgun round. The other point stands perfectly fine aswell. A 5" barrel is a long barrel for a 9mm. Where below 10.5" is considered by most as the length where the 5.56 starts to run into serious issues.
Matt Canipe it is not 2800 fox out of a 7.5 in barrel. More like 2100 fps. With a 60 gr bullet you get about 570ft lbs of energy which is around 50-70ft lbs more the a 9mm out of the same size barrel, and you won't have to deal with the outrageous blast from a 5.56.
Good vid Boys very educational this is what America needs MORE GUNS!! & MORE KNOW HOW " Armed AMERICA IS MAKING A BIG COME BACK!! & Thats a good thing its a must!! A way of life , to hell with the lawless ones !!Thanks for the "HEADS UP"! Regardless I 'm still favored toward the M-1 & the 1911 there tried and true😉👍👌
Somebody get Larry an Oscar for this performance 😎
...Seriously tho.

Great job guys at Vickers. Love this concept
Thanks LAV!! Really Appreciate these classic uploads!!
Man I miss these shows. Yet another LAV classic! 💪
Still my favorite Weapon is a pdw although it wasn't shown I love the H&K MP7
airsofter alert

this is absolutely one of your best videos thanks guys.
this was sweet man. love the history lesson mixed in there as well. hope theres more of these then 4
*"In Panama"*
This was different to see on your channel, but it was great! Thanks for the solid content :)
guy s I do believe this is one of the finer of videos yet
great performance and video. Thanks.
I'm taking these guys with me to Wal-Mart. Gonna be clearing some sweat hogs and checking out in high speed.
Great video guys. Really enjoyed it!
Larry I love all your hard work on these videos. Its like boggie nights. your packing.
The only PDW I ever saw out in the wild was the MP7. The Germans and Polish MP's were carrying them when they visited our fob.
How do you compare the p90 with the FN 5.7 handgun?
gstea1 difference between the the two is the P90 has a longer barrel for more accuracy, range and energy.
I would have to say that the coach gun was the first PDW I can think of if not the Colt revolver. Don't get me wrong. I love an M1 Carbine. Super fun and effective, but I don't know that I would call it the first to be designed for that roll.
Very interesting video. Can anyone tell me which shooting glasses were used in this video?
ComradNemo both have Oakleys...maybe start there. one might be the half jacket with ballistic clear lenses. ESS and WileyX make good ones too. As long as they're not scratched, I'll use anything.
ComradNemo their both wearing Oakley M frames 2.0
ComradNemo those Sr. were the hater blockers blocking out liberal filth
I prefer the M frame 2.0 better than the original M frame and even the new M frame 3.0.
AWESOME keep them coming keep them coming.

True
attempt #3 please do the L85A2 if you can get your hands on one.
This was awesome to watch but during the firefight there was no communication. Shoot Move Communicate
Elias De Leone but they were next to each other in cq. he did talk and said ready etc
I'm one who likes the Kriss Vector. I understand it's still a pistol round. It's 30 round mags with the option of using my G21 mags for xtra ammo
In the end, they are protecting A Man Called Hawk. (Spencer for Hire)
P. D. Dubya. Kinda like george dubya. what state this guy from?
Shahid Pinoy North Carolina
Larry when you were showing the Kentucky rifle were you at a small park in VA?
I miss that show
The m1 carabine was not the first design and built pdw. There were end-of-ww1 pdws
I really enjoyed this.
hey larry did you ever do work with Jasson Falla Because I fell like I watched and show on youtube that had both you guys on it but I Can't remember what it was? also who do you think have better operators Australia or US?
Soccer Mom!. Step out of the vehicle!
Why on 1:39 first man in squad with M9? Rifleman have more firepower
Pistol runs point for cqb. Then pdw, rifle in the rear for bounding overwatch
Sometimes that is what you got, especially if you are the driver and you get ambushed and you jump out to return fire but what you have is your sidearm since you can't drive with a MP5 or AR across your lap too well. Did Larry made video about FosTech Echo trigger? I would like to hear his opinion.
Please more Tac Impact vids!!!!!!

I like a AR15 pistol with stabilizer brace, or SBR in 300 blackout. 8-9" barrel.
M2 Carbine with a 30 round mag - introduced in 1944.
Hey Larry, I'm a left handed shooter and was wondering how to perform a speed reload on aN M4 style rifle while shooting lefty. Andrew Sanchez stag makes a lefty ar. might help
That has a shit ton of proprietary parts though
LARP’in with Larry.
OMG DID HE MENTION FALL OUT BOY (FOB) IN THE BEGINNING OF THE VIDEO?!?!?!?! 😍😍😍 #Fan4Lyfe
Would you say the PPS 43 was also a pdw?
It has a small, powerfull round, is light and was carried by tank drivers and other non frontline guys.
Morena Mordegard still an SMG; it was something that found it’s way onto the frontline because even though the PPSH-41 was well mass-produced the soviets still needed a cheaper alternative.
Five seven round for police and army use is far more powerful than its civilian version. So it has good lethal effects.
They are the same rounds, and military use FMJ and AP only, no HP.
As Col. Arthur Alphin demonstrated, both rifles have their pros and cons - in the end however, factors such as discipline and the unshakable, daunting, mind numbing *DRILL* can truly bring out the best of both weapons. The double barrel would be a waste in that situation. id go with ol bess

Some serious moose knuckle going on Larry haha. Is that a gun in your pants? Or are you just glad to see us haha.
Badass video!!
As a sharp shooter i would always prefer a rifled gun to pick up targets at range using Light Infantry Tactics.
Surely someone must have mentioned already but unlike Calico M100 / M900 series P90 doesn't use a helical magazine....
M1 carbine more effektive then 4.6x30?
Why use a 7 round mag on a full sized 1911? The 8 rounders are the exact same length.
Larry love your show just an observation watch the barrel crossing
That's why you carry 3 rifles.
911LexVegas this isn't GTA.
A PDW rifle and a sidearm is more than enough
Friggin loved it!!!
Thompson .45 not a WW2 pdw? How about the grease gun?
Those are both SMGs and have always been used and listed as sub machineguns. Definitely not PDWs.
How about MP5 vs M2 Carbine?
Why not just use short barrel 556 bullpup?
I actually find easier to shoot a pistol on the move, the rifle bounce a little more, but that's with me.
I like how Aaron always checks left to right before he puts it on safe, reminds me of instructor zero lol. yes we know your good and a bad ass just like you know your filming a video haha not in battle so you know that your left and right are safe haha

minuto 4:36 no era mi ex presidente vicente fox? hahaha
I'd choose a CZ Skorpion or an MP5 in 10MM or maybe a Tec 9
Stephen Keeler Tec-9 is a piece of junk.
now with SBR AR15s in 5.56 or 300BLK, pistol caliber PDWs like MP5s, P90s, etc, are completely obsolete.

Remember the 5.56 as it fashioned was made around a 20" barrel platform. 9mm? Not so.
The round it fires came from a FN 5.7 which is a pistol, also the 5.7 classifies as a pistol caliber so what you just said is invalid.
Also, 5.56 has velocity of 2800FPS which is VERY affective from a 7.5 inch barrel. Learn before you speak next time.
Matt Canipe Well the P90 and the Five seven pistol were developed at the same time to fullfill a Nato request. There are 45-70 revolvers, but that does not make 45-70 a handgun round.
