Definitely a great guitar. When it was announced, I planned to get one, but the limited edition sold out before I could find one. A few months ago, I found a used one at Music Gallery and immediately purchased it. The very first thing I played was something Robben taught me about 40 years ago while taking private lessons at Gelb Music. Fortunate experiences both then and now.
are these going to be available for us to purchase Robben? the Gibson you signed for me out at full moon resort, 2017 burned up in a fire..so getting your signature PRS and signed by you would be awesome.. I sure mis those Guitar Dojo Camps out There...Great times Great Memories. Thank you
I absolutely love my PRS RF signature. Feel wise, it is very much a tweaked McCarty, but it is unique tone wise for sure. The pickups are different than anything PRS makes and the tonal response is open, very punchy and percussive and bright without being shrill. Lots of single coil attack qualities in those pickups! And yes, those qualities still translate with a gained up amp. Tremendous guitar and I recommend to anyone if you can find one and have the cash.
Funny, I was looking at that guitar and musing "what if somebody made the headstock smaller and rounded off the sharp points" and just THEN Robben said he didn't like the small headstock and they made him a larger one!
Very nice video. I was surprised to see Robben playing a PRS in other vid's, but now i understand why. Paul is one of the most influential builders / guitarists who's ever been. Robben working with PRS is just one more example of Mr Smith's presence in the industry. Who is that bozo over-talking in the background toward the end? All that click-clack in the background? Show some respect for Mr Ford if you would.
The Bridge Pickup is capable of capturing the harmonic complexity of the way the strings vibrate that other Pickup locations struggle with. The Neck Pickup has its own beautiful tone, but I'm drawn much more to the Bridge, and the greater tonal variety it provides - All the Harmonics are available. And if it's too bright or spikey, the Tone Knob is there to smoothen things out.
I tried to get one of these when they released the limited run. I think PRS is deliberately playing the long game here and will release the model as a standard range in the next couple of years. He must be figuring that he will sell many thousands on release and then interest may trail off, so timing and anticipation are everything.
It's about time Robben Ford had a signature guitar. The Esprit didn't really take off and I think a signature Tele would have or even a Gibson Les Paul. I'm not a PRS fan but there would only be two I'd get because of the players. David Grissom and the Master, Robben Ford
guitar with a great look and, for what I can ear a great sound. Personally I would have liked a better sound for the video, there's some kind of room reverb that's confusing... and the one who opened a can of something at around 5:00 and then talks while Robben is talking is kinda irritating 😁
He might have the reverb dialed in on the amp. After all it is a “Super Reverb”. You are so right about the guy in the background. I heard him mumble something about Miles Davis.
ROBIN? WHAT WAS WRONG WITH YOUR ALL THE TIME GO TO TELECASTER? I HAVE SEEN YOU PLAY THAT GUITAR ALL THE TIME FOR YEARS. YOU LOVE THAT GUITAR, WHY ALL OF THE SUDDEN A COMPLETELY DIFFERENT LOOKING AND SOUNDING GUITAR? THE TELECASTER IS THE ONE! THIS IS NOT! HOW MUCH DID PAUL PAY YOU TO PLAY HIS GUITAR??????? : / YOU DONT LOOK LIKE YOU OR SOUND LIKE YOU WITHOUT YOUR TELECASTER!
Not a very popular signature artist. Every time I see him on social media he's not playing a PRS! I'm not inspired or motivated by his act. Surprised this even popped up on TH-cam!
@@fusionfan6883 I agree, his phrasing, tone and note selection are a joy to listen to, whether he's playing a Gibson, Fender, Ibanez or PRS he's gold! The fact PRS felt Robben was an artist they wanted to build a signature guitar for also speaks volumes! You can hear him playing his PRS signature on 'Blues for Lonnie Johnson'.
Gibson is the first and best in every category, PRS is a beautiful well made guitar but its soulless and has too much of a liquid tone, it ruined carlos santanas classic tone, give me his red SG any day
Ridiculous. Check out Tory Slusher. The best guitar player in the world. Don’t be fooled by overpriced guitars, and amps. A pickup is a pickup is a pickup. It’s in your fingers. Period. You will always sound like you, no matter what guitar you pick up. Now you know.
Nice clarity, love that sound! While not a PRS fanboy, they are killing it lately. I even bought the DGT SE, and gig with it. RF is a true treasure.
PRS has the best attention to detail of any guitar manufacturer. Paul is always striving for innovative and quality.

Don’t be a sucker. Buy a 49 dollar guitar, and watch Tory Slusher show you how it’s done.
Wow, congratulations on the Birth Of This Cool GTR-re-iteration project together, looks and sounds fabulous ! 😃😍🥰🤩🤎🖤💛
Love the Guitar Robben.... haven't seen you since the Karmapa visit in Seattle in '08......hope you are well.....Tenzin

Those two PRS's you have are super guitars.... you have all sounds available to you with them....
Beautiful guitar 🎸
I have the same thought with my DGT. I use the Treble PU all the time…with my other guitars I am mostly on the rhythm pickup! Great looking Axe too….
Sweet axe and player! With you on the enlarged headstock 👍🏻🎸

A true guitar hero…
Brilliant sound and playing. I wonder if PRS would ever start using those pickups in other models or sell them separately?
The Esteemed Robin Ford...(Maestro) you would have been fortunate to have his tutelage 😊
Robben
Wait for it! So Robben personal Signa fingerboard is Rosewood not the Blackwood?
I am curious to know as well.
African Blackwood....which is a rare and pricey type of rosewood. Very hard and dark like ebony.
Will you have them design a Robben Ford Guitar Dojo SE model? I can afford that one.
Funny, I was looking at that guitar and musing "what if somebody made the headstock smaller and rounded off the sharp points" and just THEN Robben said he didn't like the small headstock and they made him a larger one!
PRS Robben Ford Limited-edition McCarty Electric Guitar i CANT FIND ONE! Are they in production?
Limited run in 2022.
Honestly, this guitar sounds better than the classics
That's some guitar!

I want to hear about the shoes
I am ready to buy one!!! I do not care if it is an SE or core model. Just give it to us already!!!
Don’t be a sucker. Spend 50 dollars. A pickup is a pickup is a pickup. Tory Slusher knows. So does the 3 string shovel slide guitar guy. Now you know.

Splendida chitarra
If PRS ended up putting this model out in an SE.............I defin. consider it. Would hope they do a couple of colors at least.
Got to pay more for instruments than we make at gigs.
Nice....still doesn't have the Tele sound.
I am definitely not a PRS fan, but Robben could make a low-end Ibanez sing lol

i have had them all and my PRS Santana is one of my favorites,,if prs puts out a Robben Ford singnature its mine..i am getting one..
There was a signature RF guitar made by Fender.
@@mitcharney1 Yes, the Esprit which didn't really take off but I reckon his PRS sig will

👍👌
罗宾大神最终也是要恰饭了嘛!😉
Iff his choice is P.R.S., its mine to! 🙏
Wasn’t Robben a huge fan of Danny Gatton?
PRS. Really? 😎
Guess its for free for Robben.😢 We have to Pay for it. I'll stick to my CE24😊
Waiting on the Robben Ford signature model PRS SE.
never seen him play PRS ever...only Fenders and Gibsons
There are plenty of videos of him playing this PRS live.
Shame these were a limited edition run because they went fast so how about releasing another batch its easy profit for PRS and Robben
Der Klang liegt in der Hand, Robben ist ein Gitarrengott, er klingt herrlich.
Prs guitars are HQ but I don't like the neck profile...It's not comfortable in my hands.

Hm... yes, quite curious... just like the Roland Blues Cube Artists he supposedly used... never.
Play them all bro!
