♦️ Sims 1 vs Sims 3 vs Sims 4 : Bonehilda - Mini Evolution

- Hello. This one comparison was purely because people have kept requesting it ever since Bonehilda was rumored to make a comeback in Paranormal Stuff. Aaaand now that she's here I can see why people have missed her, she's quite an interesting NPC with much personality, even back in The Sims.
I knew this would be a short comparison and I haven't gotten enough time to play around with Sims 4 so let me know what other fun quirks you've found about her. I know she can swim in Sims 3 and 4 but it seems so...unimportant that I decided not to mention it, along with some other stuff.
Anyways, what are your thoughts on her?
My opinion?
Sims 1 is very solid, not only did they introduce her but they gave her lots of personality, I like how her clear alcoholism has been toned down with each version, I'm not a fan of the later entries neglecting her admiration for the Grim Reaper tho.
Sims 3 was alright, I like how the made her even more useful by fighting burglars, extinguishing fires, training dogs, etc. It's weird that she tries to interact with babies tho so I guess this is something they actually intended for her to do but in the end couldn't make it work, it's odd that they'd just left it there, because she'd spend HOURS trying to interact with the baby.
Sims 4 is continuing to have a bait in stuffpacks, this time it was Bonehilda aaaaaand I don't appreciate that. She's alright, does most of the things she is known for but is it just me or does she work way less?? In my game, she takes hours before getting to the real work and would rather be dancing than fixing things around, not sure if they meant to make her more lively or it's an error.
Either way, I find myself leaning more towards Sims 1 for quirks and Sims 3 for actual usefulness. Sims 4 is right in the middle of that so it's also the last in my book, but that's just my opinion, let me know yours and I'll see you on the next one. Take care.

The crazy thing is how easy it was for me to fix.
5 minutes in Sims4Studio, and I added a Scared moodlet (so they look afraid and run everywhere) to the "maid leaves when seeing bonehilda" interaction.
SUPER easy, I dunno why Maxis didn't do it.
Sims 4 maid = Book Dumbledore
Sims 1,3 maid = Movie Dumbledore

Honestly? This feels like a rare situation where the original The Sims game is the best version? I loved her in TS3 but getting the grim reaper's autograph is just so cute & hilarious!

Bonehilda is an underrated gem. I always make a point to have her in my games in Sims 3. She is truly a God send when you have 8 idiot Sims breaking everything

I like using her instead of the maid because the maid sometimes doesn't do anything other than wanting to swim in the pool or play on the computer. But Bonehilda sometimes glitches out idk y
I have only one idiot sim at the moment , and she managed to break the computer and the sink immediately afterwards. Can’t imagine how much stuff will get broken with a full household but I guess I’ll find out soon as she has the Surrounded By Family Lifetime Wish. (I usually play with big families, but it’s been years since I played on the Xbox 360 version, and I recently got the Steam version.)

The Sims 4 one is just like a regular Sims 4 maid which is they never clean the house.

In The Sims 2, maids are all about business. They will clean and do just that. If the maid (such as Kaylynn Langerak) has a high relationship with a Sim on the lot, then that maid will stay for a while, allowing the Sim to do a little flirtatious behavior around her.
In The Sims 3, maids are tasked to do their jobs, but you have to keep an eye out on the maid, because some maids will just slack off. It's in the Game Hints, I think.
One time in The Sims 3, Gunther Goth got a phone call from the house maid, and apparently the maid wanted to go on a date with Gunther. I decided that Gunther will not enter an extramarital affair with the maid, and instead fired the maid. Besides, Cornelia Goth is a pretty neat Sim and will gain LifeTime Happiness points from cleaning the whole house. Bonehilda in The Sims 3 is also cool. You just buy a Bonehilda coffin (a fixed payment) instead of a recurring payment for a maid. It's just creepy to have a walking skeleton cleaning the house, that's all.
I don't have Paranormal Stuff pack for The Sims 4. So, I can't comment on that.
I had sims come back from vacation and one room was full of dog hair on the floor which brought me to call the maid, I noticed of course the maid did everything but clean up that area for two in game weeks.
I’m one of the people that actually enjoys Sims 4 (sometimes I’ll install those mods where people are just randomly killing eachother and stuff) but boy theres a long list of things that have to be added and improved
Why do the maids never clean the house is my question? Even in the anothers Sims games, they never do.
Ohh, I love the S3 Bonehilda! She likes to drink, trains pets, fights burglars, and hides clothes when Sims go skinny dipping. What a cool gal!

It would've been hilarious if they add an animation where they can play fetch with the dogs, but using her arm as the stick.
Of course the maid in the sims 4 calmly walks away when she sees her ...I was expecting that.. sims 4 is known for being the most anti-climatic and boring when it comes to reactions. It's like standardized dolls with a bit of masochism lol
Anyway, queen Hilda is back and she's ready to clean, dance, and get some water snack

The painfully ironic thing is that the sims 4 is based around emotions and 90% of the reactions are calmly walking away
Emotions in ts4 are so fake. Even ts3 had more emotions, live and were more real. It's just sad.

In Sims 3. Not just Coward trait can run away from Bonehilda. The Neurotic trait does the same thing as well.

@@shyviolets It would be so bad... Especially as Sims 4's sims are kinda dumb here's an exmaple why: My sim eat an soup, so they go wash the dish, But instead of washing it in kitchen, they are going to bathroom..
Isn't it because it is? It was supposed to be an online game, then that was snatched away 2years +- before release and they had to made it into an actual sequel, hence so much lacking and the enormous gameplay focus on young adults. Thankfully TS5 isn't going through that because EA learned it's lesson with online Sims 3 times, which is why I have a little hope for it.

My friend bought me Sims 4 last year or so and I was so EXCITED. Then I found myself just blankly ordering my Sims to do their routine one by one cuz they're hopeless.
It's like watching badly made NPC's, if you left them alone they will do ridiculous things. I was looking forward to what they do in the game, turns out they do nothing but drink coffee all day

I miss the little interactions Bonehilda had in Sims 1. Definitely the "fangirl at Grim Reaper" interaction should come back, and she should interact with ghosts/graves in some way beyond the normal.
sims 3 for sure. she has her own box to be in, the ppl scared by her express that, and its honestly the best one with her in it.

The Sims 4 bonehilda really just feels like a reskin of the Skeletons from Jungle Adventures and not like a true Bonehilda from the older games.
But why there would be different skeletons..? Skeleton is skeleton, and in TS4 it looks like this. I like her but wish you could keep her in a coffin.

Actually all the creature NPCs in the whole The Sims franchise are Sims with different skins, saying this like it's an SIms 4 issue is being dishonest.

@@theusov Trust me, these comment sections make very little issue a Sims 4 issue. The community is on such a “Sims 4 bad” hate train that they refuse to acknowledge when Sims 4 does anything better and blindly love everything else about the previous games. Also, the entire comment section is about the small maid animation when they aren’t mentioning how Sims 4 has a more practical Bonehilda than Sims 1 and especially Sims 3 and has more personality than Sims 3 but not Sims 1. Sims 4 Bonehilda is better than the Sims 3 one in pretty much every way. If Sims 3 and 4 Bonehilda were swapped, people would still hate the Sims 4 one.

Yes, I love how detailed her coffin is in Sims 1, whereas in Sims 3 it’s so cartoony and childish looking, like something you’d find a clown in. The details in Sims 1 are a big part of why I still love and play it.

Suprena_two sims 3 has a lot of details, but there’s really no comparing it to sims 2 in that department. There were definitely corners cut (i.e no interactive kitchen cabinets in 3, sims teleport themselves into their car from standing instead of actually getting into the car like they can in 2, cars actually pulling out of the driveway in 2, hair physics were removed in 3, lots more too).

I really dislike how bad The Sims 4 went in quality compared to sims 3, there's just lots of downgrades from animations, content, etc that really pile up. It's still fun dont get me wrong, but It is not as polished as it used to be, feels much more like a dlc cashgrab
this. Sims 4 gets too much hate, but its easy to understand where the hurt fans are coming from. those little details that were cut definitely add up.
Doesn’t it just feel good to be friends with a kind monster, but I feel bad for Bonehilda. She’s so kind and some sims call her wired and rude things when she’s just trying to do her job.
I always like bonehilda, and i'll always have them in my household bc they're literally a butler, but more cool and cheaper😆

watching all these videos reminded me how much thought and care was put into every little detail of the sims 1. especially with animations. while they may have technically improved in later games, sims 1 captures the most character and expression I think. so many small details even just the way she exits her closet is such a great example. the way she peers out for a second before sneaking out and shaking herself off vs her just jumping out in ts3. its little touches like these that really make the game feel like a living world. I love it so much! need to replay

In The Sims 3, Bonehilda also often looks at herself in mirror too. But it only happens when she done with all of the housework and the other sims didn't use the mirror.

Sims 4 Bonehilda is terrible. She never cleans anything, she just dances, occasionally cooks vegetarian food, and walks away from the lot. I also don't like that she can only be summoned with a +3 medium skill, you can't just buy her coffin. Why does the Sims 4 team take everything beloved from previous games, and ruin them.
@Hyperactiv Gamer Not exactly. They ran out of time and/or didn't want to create one more build/buy item, based on how she leaves the lot. They could've re-used the animation from ghosts jumping into and possessing items for when she leaves, but they didn't.

I didn't know she greet the dead in sims 1, omg, she's the cutest lol and I think that the reason she can't interact with babies in sims 3 is a bug and if I'm not wrong there is a mod to fix that. Also, bonehilda eye sockets in sims 4 are weird, I think that they tried to make her "cartoonish" but I didn't like it, she isn't as pretty as in sims 3.

Sims 4 Bonehilda sucks. All she does in my lot is walk around and when she is bothered to cook she cooks non vegetarian meals for my sim.
In my game she only walks around the house. Nothing else, just walking.
In my game she taught the toddler how to speak everytime she was summoned, and she put him in bed. But the nleaning...she cleans the puddles she left after drinking XD

Yayy, someone noticed! Lol. I change them depending on the video, I was talking about romance in the last few months so that's why their look stayed the same. It's hard to adapt to Sims 1's limited red clothing tho.

Bonehilda was the reason I played Sims 3 for so long. I loved her! I got the Supernatural expansion as soon as I got Sims 3 and seeing her beat up a burglar was enough to make me devote my life to her lol
