Our Mockingbirds sound just like that. His dongs keep changing! His beak is definitely not like that.
I've never heard of a strawberry fig tree!! That's amazing 🎉❤❤❤

Fig Leaf tea tastes good and is very medicinal. I also saw that in many countries, they eat cooked leaves and they are a healthy green vegetables. After I made my iced fig leaf tea I ate some of them cooked and they were okay. Maybe not your favorite but good to know a good source of green vagetables in times of need.

That thrasher is very pretty and I love how it sounds! We have brown thrashers and I never hear them make a sound, but an Eastern Wood Peewee that stsys here sings all day.
I got to watch another hummingbird take a bath. That makes 5 that I have seen taking baths this year, and all from different birdbaths. I would have never gotten to witness that if you hadn't taught us how to make birdbaths with solar fountains. Thank you!!

Oh Robbie. how I miss my brown fig tree. It just gave up and died this summer. We’re too warm in Tucson, Arizona. It was growing in full sun for years but no more. I’m going to purchase another and plant it in partial shade. It’s one of my favorite fruits. ✨🌵🌷

Partial shade should work good for a fig tree. Maybe the fig tree will come back from the base.? Thanks 😊

Lowe's in my area has the black totes with yellow lids on sale right now.
They are $11.98 or if you buy four or more they're $10.48.
I read to use the fig leaf sap to get rid of a wart. It worked. But it was on the bottom of my foot and it hurt for three days then it started to die. Before, I took vitamin e but that time it didn't work. But the fig sap did!

Your fig trees look so healthy! I’ve always wanted to get a dwarf fig tree for my patio.
Was wondering, if you compost the fig leaves would there be any concerns about the sap?
That thrasher is beautiful if noisy! 😂

I just started learning about figs and bought some cuttings online. Trying to root them now. I'm excited and looking forward to my start on fig trees. Strawberry figs sound delicious and I bet my daughters would love that variety. Gonna check into acquiring that one. Those trees are huge, some of the largest I've seen. Good educational video, thanks for sharing.

Hi Robbie, just viewed this. Great information. Must have missed it previously. I'm starting some cuttings now as demonstrated. 🤞🤞🤞
I had a fig tree for about 30 years, but I always pruned it back to maybe 8' max so I could reach all the figs. Was great for tree and me because the fruit was produced on new growth every year. (Not like an apple tree for example.) So always had a "bumper crop" twice a year. And could keep it bushy.
Realize I could have covered with tulle had I known your methods if birds had been a problem.
What got a lot of my figs were those darn large green fruit beetles. Always put out traps cause they ruin all the fruit.
After seeing your daughter's orchard I'm starting one from scratch now with all ULTRA DWARF TREES which are grown in patio pots so will be using your tulle whenever fruit starts ripening. I was even able to order a tiny fig that can grow in a 5 gal pot.
Bottom line, garden orchard fruit should be within reach, not sky high for me. 🤗

Will have to look for a strawberry fig. You made them sound very tasty!

Hi Robbie, I have been wanting a fig tree but don't trust those who have sold seeds because I've purchased some from Etsy and they didn't grow. Would you be selling the cuttings?
Great video as always. Interesting lookin bird. Can't say I blame him/her for wanting the figs, they are sooo yummy but the reasons you can't buy them fresh at the grocery store is they don't last long. I can get them dried and I love them! Would love a tree though, even if I am not here when the tree actually begins to produce. I could be, but still unsure at this point. In Middle Georgia. I know LazyDog Farms sells cuttings that do grow in this State and the area but they are very expensive. ❤

When you take cuttings, it can take up to five years before you get any fruit. But if you air layer. You will get fruit the next season.

We are in Southern California, and we grow all kinds of fig trees. I don’t know where you are, but you can ask your nursery as to what type of fig trees you can grow in your zone. Some people in cooler areas keep their fig trees in containers, putting them out in the spring and summer, and bring them in as the weather gets very cold.

@@RobbieAndGaryGardeningEasy I live in zone 6A, 7500 ft elevation, my closest nursery is in the southern part of the state so they csnt help me. So appreciate you taking the time to answer my question.

A friend gave me a cutting of a fig tree 3 years ago. I have a new fig tree, last year, it produced 2 figs, this year it produced 1 fig. Hopefully, next year i will get more figs and the birds do not eat them. I have not had the pleasure of tasting one
