    THANK YOU for mentioning both the whole "system" thing and the "natural/organic/clean" thing. I tell this to people all the time! My shampoo, conditioner, and stylers are all from different brands because the *products* work for me. Same for my skincare. And I've had allergies since I was three and everything I'm allergic to is "natural/organic/clean" and I have to use synthetic medications to prevent or heal from the problems they cause for me.

    • @sarawhite9338
      @sarawhite9338 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      Good points. The 'natural' crap doesn't work for me either from most brands unless it's plant based & has zero synthetic fragrance. I'm highly allergic to synthetic fragrance, as in I can't use or touch it. I've gotten hives on my wrist from having it on a shopping cart handle while shopping one day. My hands itched for a week after using the wrong soap because we were at a restaurant & it's all they had available (I now carry my own plant based soap in a travel bottle in my purse & always have unscented baby wipes & sanitizer too). Allergies are awful. & I'm on synthetic meds too for hypothyroidism & other stuff). Good luck🍀 managing your allergies & disorders. ❤💚🌷

    • @sarawhite9338
      @sarawhite9338 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      Fragrance free products are also great, especially for laundry & household cleaners. I also always keep at least my socks on at other peoples houses because floor cleaners can & have given me itchy feet due to allergy to synthetic fragrance. I even had itchy feet after wearing thin socks at a friend's house! It sucked.
      My boyfriend called my (wanting to) try new products Allergy Roulette. 😅 I just wanted to try a different deodorant. 😢 He had a good point though.

      @ellarothsky 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      He's wrong on a few points. There's loads of natural products out there and some are better than others, like with anything. You just have to find what works for you. Some of them do just replace buzzwords with an equivalent; some genuinely use better ingredients. Saying "you'll use sulfates in toothpaste anyway" is not only ignoring all of the sulfate free toothpastes out there, but why would you use more if you don't have to? Not to mention people that don't want to use endocrine disrupting chemicals or have allergies to certain ingredients. It's reductive to say all natural products are the same.

    • @CarolinaEsp
      @CarolinaEsp 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@ellarothsky you are so right. So, they are boasting bs over someone elses achievements.
      Safe huh???

For a larger list check Cruelty Free Kitty or Ethical Elephant. Don't bother with PETA because they will say a company is cruelty free if they pay 3rd party companies to do their testing

    I'm 61 and over the last 5-10 years, my hair has gotten thin, brittle, and frizzy. I missed my soft and smooth hair so much, so I went to a new stylist a few weeks ago and told her my issues. It was pretty obvious so I doubt I needed to even tell her, but she used and recommended Olaplex products. I'd never heard of the brand, but I bought a starter bundle and my hair is already changing and smoothing. I can even see new growth which I didn't expect. Thanks for the great information. I have a showerhead I bought off Amazo, and you just replace the filter cartridge every few months or so, depending on how rough your water is. I can attest it not only makes a huge difference in hair (we get so used to living with hard water etc. we don't even realize how it impacts us), but skin, as well.bI used to get itchy after my short, despite using shea butter, etc. Once I installed this showerhead, it stopped. Soon as I start to get itchy again, and/or my hair feels heavy, I know it's time to change the filter. One of the best things I've done for myself. And it's inexpensive.

      I was no poo for 7 years. My hair went from shine, 3a/3b, medium to thick and normal to the touch at 38 to a frizzy mess of 2b/2c/3a, fine, very opaque, dry, thin and... it fell. It gave me the appearance of androgenetic alopecia at 45 y old.
      I started with Deva and my hair just got worst and worst. I kept jumping brands thinking I needed to find one my hair liked. Then, my friends started asking me why I was straightening my beautiful curls and later what was happening because I was going bald basically.
      Believe me. Contrary to every curly girl I've heard online, my hair is very much celebrated by people that know and don't know me. 😂 So I heard them and decided to face my fears.
      Labs tests normal, an androgenic alopecia diagnosis, some video watching and some thinking later and I realized it could only be the no poo.
      I went back to the sulphates and silicones I used for 38 years without problems and I had to spend some $$ to recover my scalp and hair. It is been 4 years I left the no poo behind and my hair couldn't be better.
      I still care for it, but that is because I am 49 and the menopause is around the corner.
      I don't recommend going natural. If you do and your hair gets worse.... leave it asap! I could spend some pretty penny to recover my hair/scalp from the damage, but those that can't will face harsher times.

    I first bought Redken Volume injection combo. It was a game changer from the first wash. I've only felt my hair so clean and soft after a salon visit (except I hate the smell of whatever shampoo they use). Now I get to have it at home whenever I want. I can't believe my soulmate had been alone all this time 🥲
    Next I got the heat protection, which I regret just because I don't style my hair that often, I don't know why I did that 🤦‍♀
    And a couple of days ago I got the leave-in conditioner. I tried it on dry hair and I can't even describe how immediate the change was. Now I can't wait to try it properly on wash day.
    With it I'm now using some hair oil I had from the supermarket and a cheap dry shampoo if I need to extend the washing for a day or two now that it's summer and there's a lot of sweating going on.
    So I'm thinking, if the rest of the products have such immediate and obvious results, I'm going to have no problem keeping my hair healthy until they reach my butt. Next on the list is the oil and the blowout cream for winter, when I need the heat and hold.

I have fine straight hair, not too thick, about the length of shoulder blades. Also, taking in some more vitamins and caring about my health in general, I feel that makes a difference as well. So far, my hair shines more than before and I feel my scalp is enjoying the fewer washes. Treated myself with a blow dryer and shower cap plus sleeping cap. I am still getting used to the changes, but I really want my hair to grow thick and long and I feel I am on a good way to reach this goal. Thanks to this channel. 😍

    There's a trend in Poland where a lot of cosmetics have "90% natural ingridients", "98% natural ingridients" - but in reality, most of it is very natural water, some oils, things like that. Also - everything has chemicals. Literally everything that exists is made of atoms, which pair together, and those pairs pair with different ones to create compounds. And if one compound works it will work the same regardless of its origin. You can take it from a plant (quite often with significant costs to the eco system) or you can produce it in a lab. Check insulin, how to get "natural" one and why we make it "in the artificial way". Same rule applies to everything that works, meaning has an active ingridient. We still don't know how to make artificial lanoline, as far as I know, we only get it from sheep's wool, so long way ahead.

All the previously red raised areas are now flat and not red like regular skin, and there's the tiniest bit of flaking - probably reduced by 90%! I know everyone's different and might not get the same results but I just wanted to share in case someone hasn't tried it before.

      Just ask for it in pharmacy , many of them. He said that organic is shit but I compare ingredients with normal shampoo and the “not organic” ones are full of preservatives and endocrine disrupters… which are very bad for our general health. Fertility, hormones even cancer … I stick with organic bio staff for more than a year and my hair grow like crazy.

      I also use sulphate-free shampoos now and have psoriasis, but that's mostly because sulphate-free shampoos are generally formulated to be really gentle and so don't irritate my scalp more than necessary. I've been using the herbal essence aloe and mango one because... well, it's the cheapest one that worked for my hair.
      When the psoriasis flairs up though, I got coal tar shampoo from the pharmacy. It smells absolutely horrible but it really settles things down fast. If it's really bad, there are also non-topical options, like biologics, but they are generally only used when the psoriasis is worse than the numerous side effects of the medication.

      I would suggest looking into pine tar sol shampoos! They're definitely harsher on your hair (need a good conditioner) but, I did find it really effective used once or twice a week at removing build up when necessary. Don't have psoriasis but I do have eczema that flares where ever it wants and in general found products with it really good because it reduces inflammation as well.

    I make my own shampoo absolutely customized to my needs and everyone's always asking my hair rutine. I do this because I am very allergic to Sodium Laureth Sulfate, which most shampoos have (professional or not). I'll have to admit it is a great cleanser but my scalp and skin cries everytime. It is very cheap, easy to make and keeps my hair and most important my scalp healthy.
    However, this guy is right! A lot of hair products in the market say "natural", "organic" and bla bla. But never true.

    Ok you were on a role til you said redken . Redken doe not claim to grow your hair it is to help maintain your length and prevent breakage and seal the split ends. I started using it and the protein in it helped stop my hair from being so fragile after washing and strengthening the cuticle. I would not say use it every day for the rest of your life but hair goes through changes like our bodies and this product helped me balance using moisture products and protein products because I live in a humid state. My hair had not grown pass my mid back. this helped to strengthen my hair and assisted its growth,

    I was going to try a bunch of the recommended products and routines months ago, but it's way too freaking expensive. So all I changed was getting a Wet brush and I think it's helped. I tried washing twice and that was a nightmare, like everything was stripped from my scalp. I can go a few weeks between washes without my hair getting gross. My scalp didn't like the hard well water I moved to so I tried Apple Cider Vinegar rinses but it was a hassle, so I tried a few shampoo samples with ACV/detox labels including Ouai. They worked but Ouai is way expensive, so I tried Pura d'Or ACV Thin2Thick Shampoo and conditioner and they work well, no more hairline scalp flakes (didn't make my hair thicker), but a stylist told me I had a lot of breakage making it seem like I had thinner hair than I do. So I've been using Dove Hair Therapy Breakage Remedy conditioner (I know! The horror: cheap product promising fixes!) and I like the results of the two brands. It's been a few months of the brush and conditioner change and lately I've been thinking my hair feels a lot thicker where it was thin before, so I'm hoping there's been less breakage.
