Ranger regiment conducts tier 1 operations with tier 1 units regularly so they must be good at cqb and night fighting capabilities. Also the regiment has more kill or capture than any unit in the world as they have deployed continuously for 2 decades and they are different from conventional light infantry units
I'm not sure if he is now I havent talked to him face to face in a while but my uncle was in the 75th rangers regiment apparently worked with the SAS and saved over 200 soldiers in Afghanistan didnt have a singular loss or anyone wounded and still ended up killing every threat when being shot at from everywhere when calling in airstrikes Some of it could be slightly over exaggerated as I got told by my granddad as they see each other quite frequently
Your sections sound very similar to British Army section except we have not master CPL/BDR rank its Cpl that's the section command L/Cpl section 2ic there are 3 sections in a platoon lead by 1 platoon SGT usually the rank of Sgt and one section commander 2nd Lt or 1st Lt. At the section level it breaks down into two fire teams Charlie and Delta fire teams One lead by the full screw (Slang for Cpl) he has over all command of the section the second is lead by the Lance Jack (Yet again slang for L/Cpl) 8 men section is fairly standard size for British Army Section but have seen it larger but the book says 8

A British LCpl is the same as a Canadian Cpl and a British Cpl is the same as a Canadian MCpl
