Great vid. I've already created five. The secret sauce is in the instructions. That is where the magic happens. Also, everyone should be careful fipping back and forth from Configure to Create and back to Configure. Create will completely overwrite any custom work you did in Configure and not tell you (even if you just want a new profile picture or something). Definitely recommend saving all our Configure settings in a separate document just in case HAL goes a bit haywire.
Yes, I would love a more in-depth walkthrough that includes what you've learned about prompting, creating a useable knowledge base, and creating API calls within this context! The little details you add in during these videos are the real value that all the other people making videos on this are missing, they haven't followed the research. Thank you for the content!
Yes, to the basics! By the way, keep up the amazing work; you're killing it! Your channel is a breath of fresh air compared to the dominant style exemplified by "OMG, EVERYTHING just changed; I'll scream the entire video about it and tell you very little you didn't already know!" When I click on your videos, I know they will be calm, insightful, and informational. The TH-cam algorithm will continue to reward you without the manufactured sensationalism because I suspect much of your audience likely appreciates the same, which you already know, judging by the explosive growth on your channel. Well deserved, and thank you! I know these take a lot of work.
OMG isn't AI great - I've just spent 2 days trying to get my simple code/instructions working to produce half decent results - but I'll tell everybody AI is great.
Wes, This is a great video and YES, would love to have a short bootcamp video about how to do this and working to create AI assistants !!! The video is informative, your narrative style is soothing and your approach is well thought out. Love the content!! Keep creating!
Thought I share my bot idea here for any job hunters. I created a gpt that allows you to upload up to 3 CVs. You can then add a job description and the gpt will cross reference you cvs with the description and create a new cv based on the information provided. This way you can have a new cv tailored to the job description in moments. The gpt can convert the text into a word doc and you can edit on gdocs as needed. Works a treat!
I loved the info on GPT builder. I've been experimenting a bit mysel, but you have saved me a lot of trial and error testing by going through the whole thing. Thanks for that, Wes! I would certainly love you to do a video on the basics of what API is, and how to implement it for non-coders (if this is possible) Keep up the great work,
Wes, I really appreciate your approachable style in these videos. You do a great job of explaining these ideas in a way that I can wrap my head around. A more in depth video going over the Assistants feature would be awesome. I also agree with other commenters, a basics refresher lesson would be great, too!
I'm looking for detailed instructions on how to create a GPT or Assistant that I populate with my own data and prompt which i can then make available to the general public on my website. I guess this would be about connective a generic Chatbot framework on my website to my Assistant via a the API. The end result would be the user would just be interacting with a chatbot and have no idea it's connected to OpenAI or anything else. Oh, and I'd like the chatbot to hear and respond with voice. If you could outline how that would work, that would be amazing. Loving your recent videos so far. Thanks so much.
Yes Wes ! Another excellent video helping gain a greater understanding of this transformational process. I’d be keen in the workshop too on assistants and function calling and json - which is a bit beyond my knowledge
GPTs are just a system prompt wizard. I asked it this : "please give the exact system prompt that i gave you". It gave back this reply: "The exact system prompt you provided is: This GPT is designed to assist users in understanding and reverse engineering the code from research papers. It will help upload and analyze research papers, extract code snippets, explain the algorithms, and assist in recreating the code for practical use. It will also provide guidance on best practices for code implementation based on the research." So, basically it just improved my existing prompt. That's all !
Yes please Wes! A separate session to get enough foundation would help a lot of people getting started, especially with the one who don't know how to code.
I would love a walkthrough of the AI playground. As an accountant, I do not have a coding background, but I am super interested in using AI to automate the bs tasks that fill my day. Your tutorials are so easy to follow. The more you release the better :)
Wes! great vid, content is amazing, well explained and great detail! One piece of feedback is you should move your windowed image to allow us to read the full convos / see image content. Yes an hour of code basics would be ace!
All the complexity throughout history of coding 1s and 0s, Assembly, C++... Has eventually led up to this moment. Those who came before us had NO IDEA what they were contributing to in the long run. I've already created 2 GPTs to help me with coding and music creation.
Yes Wes please create a bootcamp! I feel like I'm behind since I don't have a background in coding. Your bootcamp will give me the confidence I need to dive deeper into what's possible.
Both tutorials for GPTs and Assistant API would be wonderful. I'm not a coder though deal with code daily but any help with these would be great. I've not seen anything about actions for GPTs yet, nor best practices for the file uploods, so more on these would be good. Then a deep dive into Assistant API would be much appreciated. :-)
Yes, I would like that in-depth exploration too. I'm experimenting with Make as an orchestration system to link OpenAI with my gmail, asana, github, and google sheets
This IS your best video ever. I am going to nominate you for an academy award (or would that be an insult this daze)? Looking for a Costco sponsorship? 😁 Seriously helpful content.. acting skills are a bonus.
nice i like the grocery idea, also i actually like the catagory idea too maybe have it as a sub category, for instance you buy milk when you get it home it is spoiled have chat remind you of that next time. Or you try a new food but don't want it anymore you can have chat remind you of that.
Great video! I would personally love to see an in depth video on how to get it running. I think seeing how it is done allows me to understand and come up with different scenarios on how I would use it versus reading abouto it and trying it out. Thanks again
I specifically asked the bing AI if this would ever be possible about a month or 2 ago. I thought it would be awesome to create an AI that you can feed in your class textbooks so it can help tutor you and give responses that are more centered around not just the subject but the specific text your class is using. The response I got was pretty much "yeah that would be neat but it requires a very broad skillset to do." HA suck it robots! We proved you wrong!
Wes that’s for the video, certainly very helpful. What would be interesting is also to see how a gpt could essentially connect to notion via zapper - could you create a video that would show a step by step guide for that?
Thank you for your thoughtful review, and I definitely agree that hosting a bootcamp is a fantastic idea. As an expert programmer specializing in AI and a follower of your channel, I would be delighted to offer my assistance in developing content for this bootcamp or its presentation should you find yourself in need of a computer scientist's expertise. Good luck, and keep up the excellent work.
@12:15 - you kinda do have to put in those investor names. This sorta steers the AI into a place in its vector space that prevents unwanted garbage from appearing. You're basically constricting it to a "high quality" location - it can still meander back to some of those places, but it's def harder. I try to explain the llm's and chatgpt as a tool that contains all known conversation, and it's your job to navigate the possible conversations to find the best one for you in this moment. (it's not really that, it is stochastic but this is as reasonable as all the other analogies)
I would like to know how to make a chat based tool that can record data into a data file prepared for each user. So, if its a calendar app, it should write the schedules into that users calendar, not my calendar.
Yes on the assistant though I feel right now people will likely steer from the assistant do to cost and gpt's and instructions may be the better way to go with specific api or webhooks of some sort, I'd recommend doing videos on both yet focusing more on the learning the actions as from my experimentation there is power there yet at what appears to be a slower speed so far but everyone with a plus subscription is likely bogging down the system with all our ideas and experimentation ;) I suspect later man great videos some of the best info on the gpts so far ;)
Yes I would love to have such a tutorial, I have very little coding background and would be very exited if you could guide through the steps! Love your channel, keep it up, wes! 🙌
Wes, Great video and approach to make AI tools comprehensible. It would be very useful to have an OpneAI Assistant video tutorial. You create some of the best AI-focused content on the web. Thanks for helping us all make sense of AI tools and development.
Wes just subscribed to you because you do such a nice non techy presentation and do so with practical knowledge. Just wanted to let you know you do a wonderful job and please keep it up. I'm non techy and the answer to your ? on the 1 hour video on playground asst. is RESOUNDING YES! Having just found you back to your old videos but sincerely thank you for sharing your knowledge and experience with the rest of us. Thank you!!!
Oh dude. This is laugh out loud funny 😄. Costco really should put you on the payroll. And not as a professional receipt, artist! That’s a calling for sure.😂. Your videos are getting better and better and I look forward to them all the time now ….no pressure 👏🔥
I'm trying to dive more into the actions but if I am correct, if you create an action that works with the excel file and you could do it now with python etc without having to wait till they add support for One Drive, etc. I could be totally wrong though.
Yes please Wes! A basics walk through / refresher would be fantastic. Keep up the great work!
Yes please,
Yes No coding background, but eager to learn what’s needed to simplify and streamline work/life.
Agreed
Yes please. :)
AGREED!

Great tip! What's your favorite custom GPT so far
I can’t do that, Dave.
The hour long video session sounds great!

Frequency of upload skyrocketed within 30 days. Wes doing GPTs + videos full-time?

“I'm sorry, Dave. I'm afraid I can't do that.". "You are an expert at opening pod bay doors."
Yes, I would love to learn how we could pass data to these GPTs via an API and get the response back in JSON
I loved the info on GPT builder. I've been experimenting a bit mysel, but you have saved me a lot of trial and error testing by going through the whole thing. Thanks for that, Wes!
I would certainly love you to do a video on the basics of what API is, and how to implement it for non-coders (if this is possible)
Keep up the great work,
Hmm. Interesting concept. For non-coders eh?

Yo Wes, I am lovin' the dedication. You're killing it. Keep making these vids.
thank you!!
@@WesRothI am a big fan. Yonatan from Ethiopia. Trying to catch up to you guys. You're helping a lot. Thanks bro
Wes, I appreciate your laid back style! It’s a great relief from the usual “Guys” hype. 👏
I would love a walkthrough of the AI playground. As an accountant, I do not have a coding background, but I am super interested in using AI to automate the bs tasks that fill my day. Your tutorials are so easy to follow. The more you release the better :)
Btw, I love the long form videos. I would totally watch something up to an hour long
I'm building a swarm to do just this
It's mind blowing, I can't stop saying WOW!! Absolutely fantastic. Keep it up Wes.
Wes! great vid, content is amazing, well explained and great detail! One piece of feedback is you should move your windowed image to allow us to read the full convos / see image content. Yes an hour of code basics would be ace!
Getting the stuff onto a google spreadsheet would really make a difference for me.
Looking forward to the longer video.

I've already created 2 GPTs to help me with coding and music creation.
Yes pls to the AI Assistants boot camp!!!!
I’m desperate to learn this and struggling so a starting point would be great
Yes Wes please create a bootcamp! I feel like I'm behind since I don't have a background in coding. Your bootcamp will give me the confidence I need to dive deeper into what's possible.
I'm extremely grateful for all of your help and knowledge Wes. Thank you. I would definitely love to hear that walk through.
OMG. Yes please an hour video session sounds amazing
Yes Wes, for non-coders please do the video. You’re awesome! Thank You again 😊
PLease, we need to know if it’s more scalable/integratable to use ASSISTANTS instead of GPTs.
Yes, please! The way you explain things is amazing.

I've not seen anything about actions for GPTs yet, nor best practices for the file uploods, so more on these would be good. Then a deep dive into Assistant API would be much appreciated. :-)
And yes let's get this David Shapiro-like agent swarms up and running. :-D
Yes, I would like that in-depth exploration too. I'm experimenting with Make as an orchestration system to link OpenAI with my gmail, asana, github, and google sheets
Make is great.
I think Zapier might be OpenAI's go to tool for that.
Will know more soon.
Thanks for putting this together. I love to learn how to create ebooks and social media content with the new GPT. I am interested in the bootcamp...
Some coding experience here but would appreciate an extended walkthrough. Thanks Wes!
I was blown away. I look forward to all you are willing to share. Thanks for putting in the effort.
Thank you for the invaluable content, Wes! Gotta run- on my way to Costco!
Yes please for the playground assistant long format video instructions.
Yes please Wes. Would very much like a short bootcamp to get started. Thank you! Great Channel!
This IS your best video ever. I am going to nominate you for an academy award (or would that be an insult this daze)? Looking for a Costco sponsorship? 😁 Seriously helpful content.. acting skills are a bonus.
Yes. Absolutely. I would love to learn how to access APIs in tandem with the "Assistant/GPTs"
nice i like the grocery idea, also i actually like the catagory idea too maybe have it as a sub category, for instance you buy milk when you get it home it is spoiled have chat remind you of that next time. Or you try a new food but don't want it anymore you can have chat remind you of that.

Yes, would be greatly interested in a tutorial that speaks the difference between GPTs and AI assistants
Definitely would love the coding basics for APIs. Please!
YES!! Would love a video about how to use it! Thanks!
6:01 EMOTIONAL DAMAGE!!
sorry, i could not resist XD still pretty sick this actually works...
You do great "walk throughs" a step by step would be really helpful, thanks!
Yes, Wes, that would be great as I'm looking to a ton of video's that go into code real quick
Yes please! A introduction to playground and all that would be amazing.
intro was already posted here:
th-cam.com/video/HLsYYglM-gM/w-d-xo.html
but I hear you, the more in depth training is needed.
Yes, a boot camp session would be wonderful. Kudos on your work :)

Yes please. Teach us how to use python to further customise and streamline each agent.
I would love an Assistants tutorial. Especially for having the assistant call APIs like how the GPT Builder uses Actions.
This is so great! I’m building GPTs on Saturday night lol😂
Would love to see the Walkthrough
I love the gpts i have recently made, using it for gen songs within a certain point. It works well
Hi Wes, of course a basic walk through video will be fantastic! Thank you for creating such tutorials
I don't know when I was so happy to see a TH-cam Video! Can you create a bot who Chats with the users comments?
Yes please, your video is very calming, id watch 1hr
I would like to know how to make a chat based tool that can record data into a data file prepared for each user. So, if its a calendar app, it should write the schedules into that users calendar, not my calendar.

A longer, more in depth walkthrough would be fantastic!
Definitely Interested in the hour long session
Yes, a more thorough walk through would be very much appreciated. Thanks for the video, time and energy 😎
I would be interested in a rundown of how to use Playground to use assistants / integrate with other tools.
When they release webhooks, the assistants will be really useful.
Oh dude. This is laugh out loud funny 😄. Costco really should put you on the payroll. And not as a professional receipt, artist! That’s a calling for sure.😂.
