Just to let you know, Mikey, a lot of herbs are bug repellents. Basil, Bay Leaves, Garlic, Sage, Thyme, Mint, Chives, even Cilantro are known to repel bugs, the listed ones even repel specific bugs. So it’s not at all strange for Petilil’s leaves being bug repellent and edible.
So let's see here, trying to put multiple items into one meal... Chansey eggs, probably scambled with Miltank milk. Piloswine bacon. Petilil tea. Tropius fruit on the side. We have the makings for what sounds like one of the best breakfasts ever.

In the seafood department, I feel like Octillery and Seaking are notable omissions. I specifically mention Seaking and not Goldeen because while Goldeen seems to strictly be based on a goldfish, Seaking is not only larger, but also seems to take some inspiration from salmon. Also, its Sword Pokédex entry mentions it becoming more fatty in autumn during mating season.
It would be really cool to see an artist design like all the pokemon-food items Mikey described here. That would be super cool to see "Pumpkaboo Pie" or "Malamri" 😁
Getting Snover's barries is probably a task easier said then done, considering that Abomosnow typically are extremely protective over Snover. Not to meantion Sword's dex entries for Abomosnow talks all about how when Galarian Darumaka try to steal Snover' berries, they typically chase them away, swinging its arms like hammers.
Get a Pokémon to fight the Abomasnow, faint it, quickly grab berries from the snover, say sorry to the snover for what it had to witness and maybe give it some food, win 😎

10:18 thats just a hard way eat a pumpkin, at that point i rather i eat a normal pumpkin rather than a cursed ghost pumpkin. Also if a ghost inhabited a pumpkin that means that in pokemon universe there are normal pumpkins, and probably people selling it.
I would never actually eat an Alcremie because it's adorable and my top favorite pokemon, but its pokedex entry states that it secretes cream from its hands and the cream's sweetness depends on how happy it is. I have a strong interest in baking, so having a couple Alcremie around in various cream flavors could make for some rather delicious pastries!
That makes a lot of sense, and then u combine the fruit from tropias or just berries in general into the cake or jus ton it like a topping you’ll have some pretty good delicacies right there
Alcremie cream with Tropius Fruit and Shuckle Berry Juice. Along with a Slurpuff as the timer since the dex states it can tell when a pastry is perfectly cooked. Now that’s one good pastry
This has to be my favorite video you’ve put out so far. It was such an interesting concept and a genuinely funny video, and you could really see your personality coming through with how much fun you were having. Keep up the good work!
It's interesting how you mentioned the pokemon-human relationship part, since modern day pokemon doesn't have as many references to eating pokemon (at least not where the pokemon dies, but you do have to wonder where those sausages came from) more than likely because they basically made the pokemon sentient creatures, making them unethical to eat, and also probably the idea of people keeping them as pets adds that taboo into it. Then again, I'm a "meat is meat" kinda guy, so as long as I don't see it being made I'd dig in
I mean it really isn't too far off from real life. Some people keep farm animals as pets while others just eat them. It all comes down the person and their experiences, I suppose. I mean, heck, in many households that raise chickens, the children often take a liking to some of the chickens but they still end up having them for dinner anyways.
I agree up til the “so long as I don’t see”. That reeks of the “ignorance is bliss” mentality but ignorance is just ignorance. If the process makes one too squeamish to acknowledge it then so should the result since it still has any moral/ethical ambiguity the means inherently imbued into the ends. The route taken doesn’t disappear once a destination is reached, it’s still connected. But I agreed with you up til then. It’s not too different from rl, not even with the sentience ad there’s data to suggest that the presence of the complex structures of the cerebrum are the main source of sentience, organ structures that birds and mammals all have. So…arguably cows and chickens are sentient.
It's actually fascinating how much of the food facts are covered in Pokedex entries! I love the subtle world building that we get through the 'dex, it's great.
12:15 in the new S&V games it talks about how people use lechonks to sniff out crabominables meat because it’s just that good so yes, it would taste very good!
I'm shocked at the lack of mention of Vanillite, Vanillish, and Vanilluxe. They're all literally ice cream! And if you wouldn't eat them or don't like ice cream then I'm still surprised that you didn't at least mention them at the end with the other Pokémon that are literally just sentient food
@@xXpandypopXx The Pokedex says: "This Pokémon formed from icicles bathed in energy from the morning sun. It sleeps buried in snow." And Vanillish "By drinking pure water, it grows its icy body. This Pokémon can be hard to find on days with warm, sunny weather." So it could be Ice from them but I think it just tastes like pure Water and a parfait that looks like them but actually taste good would be better to sell🤔
Pretty sure Morelull and Shiinotic would be hallucinogenic mushrooms, and might not be the best idea if you’re not prepared for that possibility. 😅 Also pretty sure Petilil’s leaves are what the super bitter medicines that all your Pokémon hate is made from.
I think that "hallucinogenic" would be an understatement. I'm thinking more like, eating it will mark you for abduction by fairies. Like, you know that thing about how eating fairy food makes you trapped there? Something related to that.
I remember the universally hated elemental monkeys are great for making tea in the Pokémon world (or in the manga). Pansage's leaf combine with Panpour's water, and boiled with Pansear's fire or something like that.
The reason why Petilil tea can also be used as a bug repellent is probably because it contains caffeine, which tea and coffee plants naturally have _to deter insects_
3:48 Actually, Miltank can be found in the wild on Route 39, just outside of Olivine City, and there's even a Miltank farm there. Olivine City is based on the Japanese city of Kobe, where Kobe beef comes from. So Miltank's meat probably _would_ be similar to wagyu beef, as they come from a similar geographical area.
Looking at this when Mikey was saying that Lechonk is too "smoll" 4 weeks ago and now we have Chonk evolution which is even more perfect to be eaten as whole roast than Grumpig :D
Does anyone remember Shuckle's playground rumors? Many know Shuckle can transform held berries into the Berry Juice item. The rumors say that if you leave that with it long enough, they become Rare Candies
This is so interesting. Not many people realize the amount of things you can make with Pokémon parts or the Pokémon themselves. There needs to be a Pokémon cooking game where you use different Pokémon ingredients to make food. The ingredients are not the flesh of the mon just like the milk or fruit
Does... Does Mikey know that pumpkin spice isn't made of pumpkin? Like, sure, you could still EAT the pumpkin as a pie, but pumpkin spice refers to the spices used to flavor pumpkin (cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, and ginger).
@@anthonybaez4441 Yes but he mentioned all the pokemon relating to food Therefore if he were to eat something meat based or plant based he would want to eat them cooked Therefore fidough would make an excellent pie
Fun fact, Mikey: Farfetch'd itself is based on a Japanese proverb, something like "don't trust the duck bearing its leek", as like the duck itself was asking to be cooked. It means that you shouldn't trust things looking too convenient to be true :)
Bayleef's leaf/tree shoots growing in the tubular leaves around its neck. (I didn't realize that that was what those were until I looked at its ORAS dex entry). Whole bay leaves are common seasonings in soups, even if you're not supposed to eat them, but they can be ground down for use as a spice and eaten safely (the idea that bay leaves shouldn't be eaten has to do with the stem catching in your throat).
what about herbs and spices? Bayleaf literally has Bayleaves growing out of it's neck. Use those oddish, tangela and chikorita leaves to season those miltank steaks. Hell yeah
I feel like you missed a few that IRL you can only seem to get in specific places. Smoliv, Dodrio, Octilery, Feraligator, Grapploct, Fidough, Krookodile, Shelmet, and Wishcash are the ones that come to mind.
If you don’t want miltanks milk then just use gogoat, or skidoos milk because in the anime they are known for making milk and some of the kalos regions cheeses and ice cream
yeah, the pokedex entry talks about how it has a floral scent all of the time, i wonder if that'd have any effect on the taste, and if so if that'd be for the better or not. lechonk also is said to have an herblike scent, which i think would be pretty good, then it might have a similar herby flavor when you eat it, so you don't even really need to season it, and lechonk is also said to only eat the finest foods, so that'd probably have a positive impact too. he says lechonk is too small, but it's probably the better choice imo
The honey of combee and vespiqueen also looks bomb to me. And dont know if you would count it, but the olive on smoliv. P.s. Not a pokemon but the berries that drampa gives in the anime also look amazing
@@nathangamble125 you that does not sound very tasty. I had no idea Smoliv already had a dex entry btw. thnx now i know what not to do in Scarlet and Violet
Don't forget Dollive and Arboliva. Maybe not eat parts of them specifically, but they're known to give away a nutritious oil and they're based on olives. So... basically, a vitamin-packed olive oil equivalent. Perhaps, to make a nice salad dressing, or just for general cooking. Also, duck is a very commonly-eaten bird; I don't really like it very much, but that would mean that at the very least, Psyduck and Quaxwell might be viable. I assume Quaxly and Quaquaval are probably in the same situation as Torchic and Blaziken, respectively. And, not to mention, in Scarlet and Violet, a dish in the game is said to have a spicy Scovillain sauce, which sounds like it could be interesting.
@@gengarzilla1685 That is true - between the leaks and the official announcements, I have totally lost track of when everything got revealed. Don't know why it didn't occur to me that the video was probably made off official announcements before Scarlet and Violet came out. But, I guess it's a nice little update of probably edible Scarlet and Violet Pokemon.
Eating Pansage's leaves will "whisk away weariness" and I remember in the anime, Cilan, Cress and Chili would have their monkeys work together to make tea using the leaves, water from Panpour and heat from pansear.
While Pignite might have too much muscle on them compared to marbled meat, this would not be the case for Mammoswine, while the legs would have significant musculature, the chest and belly would have very fatty and marbled meat, as humans used to hunt mammoths for not only fur but food as well, so it’s very likely that it has a significant amount of meat on it’s bones that would make for some delicious meals. As for Emboar, seeing as boar is literally in the name, there’s a very good chance that the meat around the abdominal region would be very tender, juicy, and sweet given that boars, while pests, are also good eatings because of the amount of fatty and well marbled meat that can be carved off of them.
Eating a haunted pumpkin is like the fastest way to get possessed lol. Imagine having to go out on a ghost hunt to find one, exorcise it, then make pumpkin pie with it. What a workout for some pie

In the seafood department, I feel like Octillery and Seaking are notable omissions. I specifically mention Seaking and not Goldeen because while Goldeen seems to strictly be based on a goldfish, Seaking is not only larger, but also seems to take some inspiration from salmon. Delidish, the tasty pokemon
I bet the taste is electrifying.
I mean some people have fish and pigs as pets but still eat sushi and bacon
Well in china dogs are popular food, even they have a holiday dedicated to dogs meat
They are sausage nipples obviously

I was thinking the same thing.

Pretty sure Morelull and Shiinotic would be hallucinogenic mushrooms, and might not be the best idea if you’re not prepared for that possibility. 😅

Either hallucinogenic or they'd put you to sleep. Since their spores do that.

I remember the universally hated elemental monkeys are great for making tea in the Pokémon world (or in the manga). Pansage's leaf combine with Panpour's water, and boiled with Pansear's fire or something like that.

They are also super bitter.
Its so nice that grunty boi and mikey are actual friends now... Brings a tear to my eye 😭
what about herbs and spices? Bayleaf literally has Bayleaves growing out of it's neck. Use those oddish, tangela and chikorita leaves to season those miltank steaks. Hell yeah
I feel like you missed a few that IRL you can only seem to get in specific places. Smoliv, Dodrio, Octilery, Feraligator, Grapploct, Fidough, Krookodile, Shelmet, and Wishcash are the ones that come to mind.

Eating feraligatr would be a crime to me
Also Vanilax
If you don’t want miltanks milk then just use gogoat, or skidoos milk because in the anime they are known for making milk and some of the kalos regions cheeses and ice cream
They also learn Milk Drink so you know it safe for consumption.
Now that Scarlet and Violet are out, I think Mikey would add Oinkolonge to the pigs.
yeah, the pokedex entry talks about how it has a floral scent all of the time, i wonder if that'd have any effect on the taste, and if so if that'd be for the better or not.
lechonk also is said to have an herblike scent, which i think would be pretty good, then it might have a similar herby flavor when you eat it, so you don't even really need to season it, and lechonk is also said to only eat the finest foods, so that'd probably have a positive impact too. he says lechonk is too small, but it's probably the better choice imo
Pokemon being described as naturally edible reminds a lot of the Toriko universe

The olive on Smoliv probably doesn't taste good. It's been described as containing bitter and astringent oil which is not suitable for consumption.
@@nathangamble125 you that does not sound very tasty. I had no idea Smoliv already had a dex entry btw.
thnx now i know what not to do in Scarlet and Violet
It gives Haban Berries. They're a bittersweet, but half as sweet as it is bitter.
