This is the best demo, I ever saw on TH-cam. Very interesting in grills, with a little history. Like to see more of this type of cooking. USA. I would love to see how to grill from different Countries.
Yes, the various items from all over the glove are so fascinating. Might be great, too, to see a video about the different types of charcoal. I have boxes of Japanese charcoals that are so superior it is might blowing.
I smiled as soon as he produced the Weber Go Anywhere Grill. I have had one for about 24 years and I’ve used it a few times this year. I have put a fire brick in one side so that I can indirect cook/smoke with the lid on. But like your guest in this video, for ages I used it only as a hibachi to grill rather than to smoke and cook low+slow. It will probably last me out! I also use other BBQ’s and last year bought a fan-assisted one, but most of all I use a kettle BBQ. A good BBQ can be a friend for life.
Son of Hibachi is a great grill. Have it for years now and it's performing great. Perfect for tailgating or camping. Fires up and self cleans in no time. Other big advantage is it's unique flexibility. 1 side up with coals. Nearly closed. Too many options to mention here. Search for it on TH-cam. And true, I find it performs best with briquettes. To control the heat. And after grilling, just close it up in its fireproof pouch and straight in the trunk. Kills oxígeno and saves coals for your next grill.
The P.K. (Portable Kitchen) will last a lifetime & should be able to be passed onto the grandkids. They are an amazing Cooker. Would’ve like to see the Lodge Sportsman Grill/Habachi in the collection. These cast iron American Habachi’s style cookers cook well with Japanese Binchotan Charcoal.
This video makes me want to take my hibachi to the beach and grill some pork belly. Yours looked tasty. Great info and fun to see some of those older styles.
I am lucky to have access to Japanese charcoals that burn SO hot and with such little ash that they are the Ferrari of bbq charcoal. Hibachi is my great love and that charcoal is the perfect source of heat…….
You're right to miss it, but It's hard to get over here and insanely expensive. I just wanted to use the few grills I have in my shed right now and not go overboard for the clip. The Son of Hibachi sort of gives the same crust..
+Carlos G It's om my wish list Carlos.. funny thing is we even spoke about it durring the making of this video. One day I'll have one in in my studio. Mark my words 😀👍🏻
Geweldige master class met Jeroen Hazebroek Roel, misschien een master class met BensBQ, uitsnijden van een half varken, half rund of lammetje en dan op de 'Q'? :D
Seriously, I am no prude. I occasionally used curse words. But this visitor should have refrained while filming. It was sort of like he used the f word as a shock factor to convince the audience he was in the cool crowd. He worked much too hard at trying
Hey Roel... good video! It was cool seeing all the different types of Hibachis. I also have a PK Grill/Smoker, which I like a lot. Here's a couple of uploads of the PK in action. Check them out if you have time - th-cam.com/video/WLfl-tQ0kCI/w-d-xo.html - th-cam.com/video/CE4Unvyqnds/w-d-xo.html Thanks!
I can't believe you can still buy these dangerous BBQs, these have been banned in my city for decades. We used to have so many condo fires over these rotten kits. Everything is gas grill for BBQ

Love Jeroen's encyclopedic knowledge of grills, a true fanatic. The Smokey Joe can also be a decent compromise for a "Hibachi". Nice work guys.
+Andrew A Stuart Yeah you gotta love this guy... he has been grilling all of his adult live.
Hahaha yeah thought about that... SJ sure is 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

+henri wolbrink It is a great Grill Henri I love it. We don't see enoigh video on it being used. Maybe I should get one 2 😃🤘
And probably the only portable with rotisserie option. And cooking with foiled potatoes with lid closed. Amazing options.
@@henriwolbrink I just bought one. And to me the Cast iron grill looks flimsy and weak. How are your experience on this grill ?

My Lodge Sportsman Grill is my "go to" grill most of the time! I use Lazzari Mesquite lump charcoal and have always had very good results!

I make grills out of old tool boxes
Jammer dat je 'm "Hazebroejerk" noemt, hebben jullie nu al ruzie....?? ;)
hahahahah... Hé niet stoken in een goed huwlijk he!!! ;)
So that's easy... a BGE with the lid open is a Hibatchi ...
Yes, actually I have a theory that the Mushi-kamado came about by putting an Hibachi into a ceramic pot as a way to control the airflow.
