    The fact that Armand is the oldest and strongest vampire there shows how diabolical he is. He put all of these pieces in play so everyone can destroy each other so that only he and Louis can continue their lives together with no distractions. He could’ve saved Madeline and Claudia but he hated Louis love for his daughter.

      Lestat could’ve saved them as well in the books he was stronger than Armand and in the show he can do really what Armand can do and they both could’ve stepped in and killed all of them in seconds but for whatever reason they stepped back and I think it’s because Armand wanted her gone so he could have Louis and not deal with Claudia

    Yeah, the new perspective on Claudia's turning was probably one of the creepiest moments of the show low key. And I do believe it's the closest version to the truth, Louis says so to Daniel. But the most disturbing part about it is how Louis treated Claudia I think, how he would drag her around like a doll, how he was the one who "babytrapped" Lestat and no the other way around....The odyssey of recollection!

    • @SpaceEmos

      Louis was desperate though sure it was selfish and creepy but he got discriminated by his family, and ripped off by racist pricks the club he built for 8 years. But it was creepy lol also when he was talking shit to Lestat holy crap he was really deranged and creepy. Made me think differently of louis....
      I still like Louis especially when you see him in present day he seems more calm & wiser. But he is a tortured soul. Also Lestat in the books said he is the most human of all vampires. He's been through some shit being immortal still having complex human emotions.

    • @SpaceEmos
      @SpaceEmos 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +5

      @@nebulous8389 I kinda disagree with calmer and wiser for present day. It seems like Armand keeps him in a docile bubble but Louis has some extreme mental health issues. During Claudia’s turning he’s clearly in some manic dissociative state. Like Daniel said, what Louis needs is 100 sessions of emdr 😭 he needs to stay away from those men

    • @nebulous8389

      @@SpaceEmos well of course he's being controlled by Armand, but the fact that he is accepting and admitting things he wouldn't have done years ago is something. He admitted the truth on how Claudia was made. Definitely not saying he's all great in the head lol but he's not draining 120 drug addicts anymore, & he's accepting more things. Also the fact that he is attempting to tell his story finally is progress. This is like a therapy session with Daniel.

    In ep 5 season 1 you hear the violence but you don't see who is doing what to whom. And you only hear Louise tell Claudia to stay back it's OK. So I love the way. they tie this all together in a way that makes you question both of their recollections.

    I could not get over the acting in this episode. Everyone brought their A game. There wasn't a single moment, even knowing what was coming having read the books/seen the movie, that I wasn't sitting edge of my seat.
    Still Armand being like, I couldn't prevent this...who doesn't call BS on that. Literally took over an entire room of people with his mind, and yet, he couldn't stop it. Not only that, let's not forget, he let it happen, he led those theater vampiries to the three of them, and previously, he let is other coven be destroyed just because he no longer wanted to deal with it himself. He plays the innocent coquette, the scorned lover, the victim card extremely well, but he literally is always standing just inside the door as others do his dirty work for him. Isn't this what this is as well. We saw the theater burned down in the image, and we know he was over that theater group and tired of dealing with them, so who better this time then to get rid of them...than a vengeful vampire full of rage at them killing his beloved and her companion.

    • @AnxietyRat
      @AnxietyRat 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +5

      Yeah, in the new version of the fight scene all of the yelled dialogue is actually in the older version... They just added in what's said in between what Claudia actually heard. Same for the scene where they're turning claudia. In the original scene you do actually hear Lestat say that "she is too young!" in French.... So that is also the more truthful telling, as Louis put it.

    I am not an Armand Apologist, I am not an Armand defender. I am an Armand understand and enjoyer. Every time people are like “Why would Armand do this” I feel like they haven’t really reckoned with the mindfuck that is his existence. I truly believe that is giving him way too much credit. I think it was incredible and deliberate that the writers took one of the most defining lines of Armand's inaction ("I could not prevent it") and weaved it through his entire psychological profile. It is where Armand has internalized learned helplessness. Even in the book Louis has to tell Armand that he doesn't even use a 10th of the power he has. He could have stopped it but Armand himself doesn't think he can so he doesn't do anything at all.
    Most people watching/ reading IWTV: There is no way that Armand truly believes he's powerless
    The Writers: What If he really did tho?
    “It’s not MY coven anymore, so I can’t stop them, but Louis is MY companion so I’M gonna push and save HIM. I can’t save Claudia, Santiago is HER coven leader now. I can’t prevent him from disciplining his followers.” He tells himself over and over and makes sure Louis knows it

    Louis and Claudia have some of the same recollections about Lestat and his treatment of them, so I don’t buy his version regarding the fight scene. I buy his version on the making of Claudia, because Louis agreed, but not Lestat’s version of Louis chasing him, showing up to every event trying to get together with him. Also, Lestat could have just let Claudia get on that train and been done with her once more, but he forced her presence in their relationship which directly led to his attempted murder. Lestat is a liar.
