There is pretty important nuance to Deimos pinging and it’s that while he can see scanned operators location in real time , pinged defender only gets the ping on Deimos once every second (like Lion)
Which is a significant advantage to Deimos

Really excited to play with this dude. It’s nice to have an operator that actually feels like he has some weight in the lore.
He's a badass.
Maybe I'm crazy but smoke grenades seem like they could be very useful with his ability. If the pings on him are delayed, then throwing a smoke in front of a player he has pinged can give him an advantage as far as closing space on that target to be able to kill them through the smoke.
EDIT: I was just in game now, he apparently doesn't have smokes, but the point still stands for pairing him with those who do.

Something I wasn’t aware for a while when watching gameplay that should be mentioned is that the death mark drone cannot be interacted with at all physically.

Fun fact: Deimos is the name of one of Ares's sons. The other one being phobos. They also mean panic and fear (Deimos and Phobos)

If she pings a defenders utility, they get discovered and she can see deimos' counters like vigil and mute jammers
i really like him hes got pretty eh primaries but a super powerful secondary which is basically a close range dmr while having a very strong ablity that rewards good map knowledge and callouts
One thing that went unmentioned is that tubarao has the same effects on the RC helicopter that mute does
Deimos along with the shield rework will make attacking so much fun this season

I still find it kinda cool how Ubisoft's game designers managed to give Deimos an ability which not only fits him rather well thematically, but also has quite a lot of utility in-game without being overtuned.
Much better than the 'breaching revolver' gadget people were initially speculating he would inevitably get around this time last year
I think the biggest thing abt Deimos is map knowledge tbh, like if you’re someone who doesn’t know maps very well and your trying to communicate to your team saying hey he’s upstairs, where at upstairs? Like if you said hey they’re in piano pushing white hallway on Kafe so your team can take advantage of that.

I think Deimos is a really cool operator but I'm worried that just like Jackal he's just always going to get banned in ranked, because nobody likes being tracked.

You know, I’d buy the fact that there’s controversy for a playable villain and terrorist in a Tom Clancy game if it wasn’t for the fact that Tom Clancy’s EndWar lets you play as the Russians back in 2008, but I suppose we didn’t know any better back then or not enough people played that game.
All the same, Deimos looks like he’ll shake things up in a fun way, good video as always, G.

_EndWar_ is a completely different situation. You can play as the Russians in _EndWar_ like how you can play as the axis powers or the USSR in _Hearts of Iron,_ or as the forces of Chaos in _Warhammer 40k._
_EndWar_ is a strategy game, depicting a hypothetical World War 3, fought between the USA, the EU (well, the EF), and Russia. Each individual power sees itself as the protagonist, and, regardless of how reprehensible the actions of a given power are, history is written by the victor.
Within _EndWar,_ no side is truly free of sin. The USA spearheaded the militarisation of space in order to re-establish itself as the #1 global military superpower, upsetting the balance of power following the end of strategic nuclear warfare. The EF also participated in the space arms race, eventually withdrawing from NATO, as relations between the USA and the EF continued to deteriorate. Russia eventually sparked a war between the USA and the EF, using the capabilities of those powers against each other, in an attempt to prevent either of those powers from establishing global superiority and subsequently uniting with the other one to take Russia's valuable oil reserves following the unprecedented global energy crisis.

Whilst Russia's foreign policy stuff in _EndWar_ is still ultimately incredibly underhanded, I'd say that 'being able to play as Russia in _EndWar'_ (or 'being able to play as _country X_ in _strategy game Y_ ) is still less notable than 'being able to play as this individual who is a terrorist in this tactical hero shooter in which you play as counter-terrorists'.
In strategy games, being able to play as the side which would be considered to be the antagonists to the average player is to be expected.
But, in games in which you play as individual tangible characters, and *all* of the playable characters are the 'good guys' (like in _Siege_ ), having a new playable character who is one of the 'bad guys' (like Deimos) is somewhat unexpected.
Voice is sounding good and the how-to is top tier. Good stuff as always

i’m coming back to siege after not playing for a while and i see that the early access for deimos is almost a month and i was baffled honestly i don’t know when it changed but i was just so used to the 7 days

They should've added a passive where if Deimos is on board, he will be revealed to the defenders since he is going to hunt them anyways(Lore wise).

Deimos' intel feels a lot like Iana's Gemini, in the sense of needing communication for better results. More guarantee and safety for hunting down individual tho.

Got my first black ice today, it was for his AK, guess ubi wants me to main deimos
Just stand on a mute jammer he wont find you, time to slow down on roaming and just hold angles in or around sites, dont use mute jammers on reinforcements or drone holes just use mozzie for drones kaid for walls and mute to hide
you forgot that the attackers seeing deimos's ping is delayed, while deimos gets constant pinging of the enemy. Also, standing on things like turbarao ice canisters will stop the tracking from happening to you
deimos' enemy has a slower refreshing ping while deimos has a live ping. Tub can ice the floor and deimos cant track him

I only got Deimos from the pass. Nothing on it is even leveling up even after I bought it. But I guess Deimos was the most important part of it so at least I got him…

I wonder if your teammate is being tracked by deimos, could hypothetically a Solis track him? potentially killing the deimos before he finds your teammate creating a dynamic between solis and deimos resulting in deimos NEEDING to deal with solis first every time? just a thought..

i have been a long time fan, since you did the original Operator How To. that old, humor filled style definitely hits me with nostalgia, but this new approach in content is simply great. streamlined information with great examples of what to do, with a little hint of that sense of humor that made me a fan in the first place. keep it up, G, loving this new look.

Awesome video G, glad to see you're more accurately able to express and identify yourself! That edit really put a new meaning on fire from heat homie that shit is gas! I think my favorite part about Deimos (and there's a lot of it I'm a fan of) is the fact we get to play as the villain! I think not enough games in general let us do that, and narratively speaking its such an interesting decision that I'm fully behind. Now if only I could remember all of the map callouts... its been too long xD
