I think the debate is a good thing. To me it shows the op is fairly balanced. I haven’t gotten much playtime on him yet but I can’t see how someone would view Deimos as weak when he has so much intel capabilities to clear site and/or roamers.
He has a high skill ceiling because he is a communication attacker that can’t give the information without communicating with the team
I get the point of him but in my opinion if your all ankering he doesnt have anything because his primary option is ass.
The only thing he brings is wall hacks wich can be counterd by mute.

I think it depends on your playing experience. If you get communicative teammates or have a stack, Deimos can go CRAZY with comms, even better than Dokkaebi. But if you're solo queuing and you just don't have a team that's listening or comming, ops like Dokk, Jackal, or maybe Lion are better because you relay your intel to them passively.
The deathmark does tell you what room the operator is in, it shows under their symbol on the left.

Pox spiting fire. we had this debate in our stack a couple nights ago and i 100% agree with you.
Deimos is the most balanced op they have released in quite some time. He isnt to op and he isnt too weak. He is a great solo op and is a great teammate op with counters if you are smart.
Sure he gets wall hacks but i have played matches where my teammate is being tracked and lead deimos to me to get him killed. You can counter him if you actually think, which is what siege was created for.
if people believe they need other ops for him to be successful, you havent even tried with him. Think out side the box and see what a beast he is.
I agree. I was once playing as Kapkan and there was like a small wall you could climb in to go through. Deimos was hunting me, and I see that wall and I see an opportunity and so I throw a C4 there and get to a nearby stairs and wait.
I see Deimos coming in, he is shooting at me, I am also shooting while acting like I have no escape. And then he goes through.
But it's already late, for he has forgotten the first rule of hunters. Always watch where one steps
I like to play deimos this way, I get into or near sight and pick off a couple people or hold an angle then once it's done to 3 ir four enemy's I push and scan anyone I need like say I'm in a gunfigh ill pop a drone and instantly win it then once I have controll over sight I start popping drones on anyone alive and play aggressive.
I've also found he's great in 2v2s I have a start with Oregon 2v2s with my friends what I'll do is I'll run around out side making entries on different places and droning them then I sneak into sight from a completely different place then they expect pick off one that dosent see ut coming and then book it back out of sight I then go to a different entrance I already made cause now there distracted cause there teammate is dead I get close to sight pop deimos drone and rush in for the kill
I saw you and Macie going back and forth on twitter , your both right in pro league and high rank Deimos is probably the best in lower ranks like plat or em Deimos for me is terrible because my solo queue teammates won’t play off the intel it gives
That is quite the opposite.He is better in any rank wherte you are constantly communicating or controlling the pace.This pace of the game doesn't discriminate by rank.You just need to start taking space and finding out whete everyone is?Which is easier said than done.If your not taking control of the pace of the game he is pretty C tier and gets outclassed pretty easily by lion,dokkabie etc and you will find yourself dieing with a lot of deimos drones not used.
@@chrisortiz432 you clearly play a 5 stack, Deimos only gives the pings to himself so in a game with no comms your only putting yourself at a disadvantage against a queued together team
Gonna have to disagree on this, I think individually he can still be very strong, and with communication he is amplified even more

I love Deimos. His gadget is amazing and his Vendetta pistol is very strong. But, as a controller player, his pistol is not as strong as it is for a KBM player, so I run his AK and use that whenever I don’t have the DeathMark active
It’s still really strong, there isn’t even recoil on console
@@lehoff3689 it’s not the recoil, overall we have no recoil compared to MNK. He only has six bullets, you can’t prefire, and you’re aiming with a joystick w no aim assist

Deimos isnt bad, hes balanced. I think people are so used to playing/being killed by broken ops that they forgot what it feels to have an operator thats just good and fun to play against.
After seeing PC test server gameplay I expected Deimos to be amazing, but then using him on solo/duo queue xbox plat/em ranked... he just doesnt work well unless you KNOW the map is cleared or you can communicate with teammates to use him to clear the map. On the flip side, the fact that you are constantly at risk of having your position revealed no matter where you've been or done is a good leash for any sort of either oppresive roam operator or dug-in position. Overall i think he is mid, with tradeoffs, which is a good place to be i think
The fact that the 3 sides “good” “bad” and “balanced” are all equal means that he is the perfect operator and ubi snapped on him
I feel like if you have amazing game sense and are good at the game, Deimos is extremely good. I have only encountered one or two good Deimos as opposed to the 20-30 I've encountered so far. all the lower level players are using him as blood hound, and getting smacked in the process, and the one or two good ones have literally carried their team to victory. good content as always, looking forward to more commentary ranked stuff

There have been multiple instances of the Deimos tracking me as solis, only to one, not shoot my through a wall, not prefire, or not use a nade.like I said majority of Deimos players I've seen treat him like a blood hound. They catch a whiff and run. They need to use a little more game sense to be more effective
1:52 Maybe the solution to this is to have the prep phase drone in the building. That way you’ll see the marks close enough to make a pinpoint call outs. For those who haven’t memorized the room names his gadget will tell you and it’ll show which floor level it would be, on the left side of the screen.

I agree, at first i would use one drone early to gind the roamer, but now i use it to bang who ever is above me, i havent tried above yet because against a good player i feel like ill get hit by a C4

Pretty well put, curious to see how the pros will utilize him in their games
he’s also amazing at applying pressure when you’re up on a team he definitely is a beast in the right hands and can force roamers to run back to site or abandon a flank his presence also makes vigil a awesome counter allowing him to be more relevant as well i think more than anything his revolver might be given more recoil but other than that i would say he’s balanced and a high mid tier op in the right hands
1 thing that I don't believe was mentioned is that his pistol does have a lot of fall off. This is why some people will struggle in the 1v1.
If you try to play the long range, the smg will most likely get a lucky headshots before you can down them
And if you try to play close range, you need to be used to a more snappy, run n gun kind of playstyle which is not for everybody.
I definitely agree with what you said about gun fights. I play him on console, and I usually pull the pistol out in most situations and it works fine
I pretty much only play Deimos but if you just use his ability and track the person just before they can see u u stop ur ability and then pullout the ak and get them
Deimos in my opinion is support in the sense that you pick off the enemy team to help your teamates win the round and to distract the enemies whilst your teamate diffuses, also you can literally nerf mira so badly with it
It was scary to fight Deimos but I did beat him. I just needed to practice communicating more. No other operators could force defenders to make call outs like Deimos does, vice versa, which make these kinds of interaction unique.
I think they did go balanceing him one of the rare moments ubi adds an operator who is fairly balanced the only thing i have a problem with demios is his gadget is limited to 3 so he is just a bit underwhelming they should make it least 5 or unlimited if it has a cool down or remove the cool down that would make him perfectly balanced for this hopefully neew meta

lets also not forget that he gets countered by Mute, Tubarao, and even Vigil. All while it absorbs one of his charges as well
A tip if you use pistols or DMRs a lot on controller: try and switch to using your bumper to fire instead of your triggers! It sounds weird, I know, but I've been doing it for about a month and a half now I think and it's really good for me. Faster fire rate for specifically pistols and DMRs, but it works for other types of guns too. I mention this because Deimos specfically relies on using a pistols so much

I think if you’re in a stack and play him mostly for Intel he can be very useful. I think it’s very powerful that you can immediately find a targeted players location and pinch him for a free kill
im not trying to argue hes a good op but im in gold and when i try to track someone and kill them through the floor they move around so much and ontop of that the enemy team has a vigil mute tbarao all three
i usually suck but with deimos ive been doing good his revolver is so fun to use
i do not doubt that the .44 vendetta is really good in most firefights
but with my luck, i'll be fighting someone and then get laserbeamed by an Azami across the map

In my opinion, as someone who hasn't played in a long time, he forces a defender into a 1v1 which makes a gap in the defenders set up or makes a roamer tunnel Deimos.
Even if Deimos loses, the defender is compromised and has to relocate or win more fights blind.

deimos is good it just harder for console players like me to play with his secondary and trying to find a good setting for him i say its better to stay farther away from your opponent with death mark because how much more easy it would be to use his gun farther away then close

I'd have to agree with Macie, except I think Deimos is just mid. He's far from strong, if you need to run another op or 2 ops with him then it doesn't constitute him being "strong" or "OP". With the info provided by him you can easily bait attackers into odd situations. Once the dust settles and people stop freaking out when theyre being tracked he'll settle into middle/bottom of the list
Except you don’t need to run another op to make him strong. He’s a really good solo que operator. I’ve been solo queuing with only Deimos and player with my duo partner as well. I understand where your coming from because he doesn’t add much utility if he dies(similar to Cav)but he’s much better and more consistent than Cav and can make much better plays

I quite like Deimos, I haven't played as him but he's a really fun op to have as an opponent and teammate. The hit of dopamine you get when you eviscerate him through a wall with tachanka's dp27 is unreal.
I think lion , dokkebai, and jackal (when he's not banned) are better choices.
@@SamIam-iv4bc all three of those operators require more teamwork to be effective. Deimos can also work with his team and be more effective when solo queuing.
Throwing it out there you say the ping isn't accurate but on left hand of screen it says what room your target is in . In case you haven't notice , but in my opinion deimos is op or broken but he is super fun to play as and against gives the game a new aspect for roamers to be aware of drones if they got spotted or not
His gadget depends on the skill level of you and the player you are dueling. Communion is insane since you get live info and Deimos honestly encourages mute and vigil to be picked if you want to avoid being tracked

It is a good idea but if someone realizes that you’re above or below them, they just take off running. So it’s not worth it imo, and I’m maining him lol. He’s better off using his gadget when there’s only a few (1-3) ops left alive.

The only dislike I have about him is (maybe a server issue) but the revolver hit reg is weird and there's been countless times I've used a scan and it either won't scan or it'll scan and stop and take a charge away
deimos is good but can be also frustrating to play against and keep it brother and i hope you reach 300k subs soon..
Not lucky enough to hit floorbangs when every other bullet is hitting beams and hitting limbs does a quarter damage and have to reload, they get on top of a desk or something. Also higher elo means they’ll send a roamer out to deal with me and then I’m really fucked
I love Deimos in every perspective. Playing as a literal hunter feels satisying, while getting hunted puts much pressure on you, especially when you are a roamer. But even though he feels fair to play against him, because you also see him and you can bring Mute to counter Deimos in general.
I feel like they’re gonna *destroy* his revolver, possibly worse than the 357 that or they’ll do something to his ping that will probably make him harder to use, like making the defender mark move intermittently like Deimos himself or vice versa, within the next season or two, he’s fun, and not that I have a problem with how he is now, but I just can’t see him staying this way.

I think hes also a very fun operator. That's important actually. The reason why is because when people are having fun playing an op your gonna do better. He has active walls with probably the best tap fire weapon in all of R6. That's huge. Also Defenders don't get the same ability at all. Demios gets legit walls. Defender gets basically Lion scan.
I see no reason to pick demos over Jackal, lion or Dokkaebi. Jackal not only does what Demos does but also does it better because he,
1) Doesnt out himself by giving the enemy a pretty much live location of his were-abouts.
2) Doesnt need to know an ops identity and therefore can counter roamers better
3) Has better weapons, both the PDW and C7-E outclass the Ak at every angle and he has a secondary shotgun, which can make rotates/vertical angles like demos’ revolver.
4) His gadget isn't selfish and actually gives intel to your team.
5) Jackal can use his primary when tracking, in a game like Siege where it only takes one shot to the head to die, I'd rather take the high rate of fire on the PDW than the high damage of the .44.
I'm sure I could go on but that's all i can think of right now.
It's annoying because Demos is so cool, I want to like him but I just cant when other ops do his job better than he can.
After watching, I’m trying to listen and understand your view point but when your hurling insults and a quarter of the player base, its kinda hard to take you seriously.
Sure Demos is a great operator, if you play the game non stop and its your job to be good at the game. Casual players dont have the time to up their skill level to this point of “point and click” its not as simple as that.
If your aim is that good, as a player youd be better with a high rof weapon (like the PDW) and dome every op on the map as aposed to double taping body shots.
With vertical play, again, not everyone knows these maps like the back of their hand, we dont know beam layouts, meaning half our shots go into the steel, startling the gamer and pushing them to move/ headshot you/ throw a C4.
Exactly, Lion can do everything Deimos can do but better. Lion can put holes in soft walls and breach hatches with his DMR similar to Deimos revolver.

Is Deimos broken? Nope, but is he weak? Not in any way, Hes a Hunter to me, sorta like Jackal. When I pick Deimos Im telling the Enemy Team "I will find you, and when I do, No one will save you"
The first time I played Deimos I got an ace. It was amazing
I think of Deimos and Jackal the same -- they're both `balanced` since they won't drastically affect your winrate, but they're incredibly frustrating to play against, especially for new players. These kind of ops are awful for the health of the game
What is the counterplay to Deimos for a Silver player?

Pro player tend to have a massive ego and think that your average soloq teammates will know how to work together and counter things like Deimos.
wdym if you are tracking outside you dont know what room they are in it literally tells you the exact room
I play on a stack that was already running mute on most of our setups. We also don't tend to hard roam. Deimos just doesn't seem to do much against coordinated defenses. Theres just so many better intel operators, hell, drones are a better gadget than death marks.
Honestly think Deimos is worse than recruit would be because I swear teams running deimos suicide all their drones onto site and end up having less intel overall.
He'll probably get better over time but so long as you're an orchestrated team, Deimos is a non-factor. Not entirely useless but doesn't really do anything unique or as disruptive as if you're trying to hide offsite alone.

here is the problem you get in a 1v1 with a revolver vs a fcking shotgun
Imo: I think he's good, but very map/comp dependent.
His gadget is really nice for picking out solo targets, and also helps for catching roamers so it's harder to be flanked.
However, I definitely don't think he's actually better than other tracking Ops like Lyon or Jackal; Jackal literally gets a precise, constant ping which can allow him to either lay traps to bait it out, or feed Intel to other teammates. And Lyon, while fairly weaker than Jackal by comparison, still has a strong anti-roamer gadget, as well as a solid push tool.
Deimos only being able to target one Op, on top of it also limiting him to his magnum could be bad if that remaining Op has a strong weapon (BOSG, M14 and most of the auto-shotties) or even if it's someone like Clash where she could kinda just BS the 1v1.
I think he's fairly balanced, but not S-Tier. If I had to give a fair rank, he's a strong A to A+.
I'm gonna be honest as someone that adapts fast to new operators this season has been hell.
Like when azami came out I was making one ways on the first day, when thorn came out I was putting it in shelfs and in the bars on the floor and ceiling.
But this new op it's the first one that I can't find my place with it.
I love every operator except for deimos, I'm sorry.

I peronally always play from above or below its really fun and i think its a pretty good operator overall.

When the season first released I was in a 1v1 with 3 kills as Jäger I knew Deimos was left but he tracked me and I was searching and I heard him whistling I absolutely shat myself and let out the most high pitched squeak ever after that he headshotted me through 2 walls terrifying he is but cool
Good but not brokenly op is pretty much my impression. He makes the game bloodthirsty in a nice way, and it's not like everyone has to build their whole game plan around his ability like how it has been with some operators.
Every daimos that has tracked me ends up losing their dual. Shit feels sooo good bro lol talk about an ego boost. When that ping pops up and you know it's life or death 1v1 and you win that dual it's peak "COME AT ME BRO!!/THEY DONT KNOW ME SON!!" energy
we need to make a movement to make the devs never change deimos ever. I'm worried they will needlessly nerf it. It's a cool ability with major trade offs and easy counters. We should have a movement that pressures the devs to never change it.

You know other ops like lion exist right? Add 3 more team mates, jackal, doki, grim, and you're playing a gd nightmare. It isn't fun. The ability doesn't take skill to use. It is, click a button, here's the enemy.

Is deimos pinged to the entire enemy team, or just his target knows where he is when death mark is activated.

Honestly I’m in the middle of it I think Deimos is on the spectrum of hes mid to high tier but I could also see him get a tiny buff but only issue I don’t see how they buff him without making him broken
i’ve played deimos 4 times and got 8+ kills every game
in my opinion, deimos is actually fair. This is because mute is a complete hard counter as well as vigil could stop himself from being scanned. also, its not onesided because they also have wallhacks on you, and it really just comes down to your aim
Me personally I feel hes super balanced he can be strong but he can also be bad
I feel like there's no way Deimos is the "worst op" right now or even close. He's such a fun op and a step in the right direction. We need another op like this since Jackal gets banned so often. I play at a low level in ranked, but it's insane watching him camp below sites with breakable floors and activating the tracker then drop people in 2 shots from below before they can do anything. It's one of the funnest ops we've seen in a while
I find him very fun to play with, and even sometimes going against, he’s like an icebreaker, especially if things are stale and nobody’s moving around😂
The biggest issue for me is im a console player so I get folded by smgs lol

His operator caters to competitive and experienced play. Deimos isn’t someone anyone can just use effectively. You need to know how to use the map to your advantage and how to shoot well. In other words you have to be skilled at siege in order to know how to play Deimos. If not you’re just going to get yourself killed and that will end up burdening the team.
Id say he’s 6.5/10 because he’s very situational. For instance, the more people you have on your team the more useful he becomes. Otherwise if you’re in a 3v1 Deimos becomes a second Blackbeard.

I do not think the 44.Vendetta is a beast for one reason: If you don't have great aim and if you can't headshot most of the times, in 99% of gunfights you will have to hit the enemy 3-4 times. The reason being is that the 44.Vendetta does 78 damage to the body up until 10-15m. Most of the gunfights are further than 15m so most of the time you will have to 3 shot them (not to mention the wallbangs). Nontheless Deimos is very good.

Deimos is in my opinion pretty well damn made operator. You can get something out of it when you play solo, you can get even more if you communicate with your team and you can get the max out of it when picked with also correct team picks... His revolver is pratty damn good, but it has low ammo capacity and it benefits only those, who are really great in aim, which is also GOOD and as it should be. He can be countered with some picks, mainly with Mute or Vigil and without droning or without game sense, you will just hunt one person and die on other... to sum it up, he is pretty well good, but for fucking sake, how I hate people saying, that he needs nerf and even more it tilts me, when people say that his revolver needs it... Like, revolver is basically his main weapon and in your ability, you cannot have anything else so obviously it must be good and with ROOK, Wamai and many other defenders having ACOG, I still think it is perfectly fine op, at least for me, I don't even feel oppresed somehow by playing against it, I also already won many 1v1 with them, so yea. For now, great patch so far, let's see what will come later.
As many people have already pointed out, the fact that Deimos' strength is being debated is in my humble opinion a sign that we balanced him well. He's meant to be a challenging operator that takes communication, strategy, and aggression to use effectively. In the right hands, he's someone who can dictate the pace of a match. However, we also fully expected that some people wouldn't mesh with that, or might not figure him out immediately. He's not necessarily for everyone, but that's okay.
In that respect, I think you've actually managed to hit the nail on the head of the ideal for how to play Deimos.

I personally think his gadget it very very good BUT when you activate it your personally putting yourself in a 1v1 with a single action gun and 9 times out of 10 the enemy is going to have a smg
And yes while the pistol is very good there’s just no advantage you have while using the pistol

Been playing since open beta. Deimos is really bad but that’s just my opinion. Was playing at high Plat (when it meant something) and em high emerald/low diamond now. An attacker that literally tells you where he is is weak no matter how you cut it to me.
With a coordinated team, he’s a monster
I know deimos is good but somehow i lost almost all gunfights when i played him ( no not completely trash aim just average) but when others paly him i get destroyed into atoms.
I do think naturally the revolver is better on PC, if you can aim on console then it's not so bad but someone who struggles aiming will have a bad time
