    Nice video, it helps. btw, I believe the automatic light adjustment shown in the video is something called auto headlight leveling, which turns headlights up and down based on your load. It is a basic function on most cars. AFS on the other hand is a more advanced feature for higher trims, which turns headlights left and right in conjunction with your steering input to light up corners. Manually adjusting headlights will not get intervened by auto leveling, which is only controlled by the sensor on lower control arm.

      My car does indeed have AFS as the headlights move left to right above a certain speed when I turn the steering the wheel. I have it titled AFS since more than 80% of the people searching for it will search by that term since that is how Mazda has it marketed on the GT trim levels. Also, the way I adjusted my headlights is how Mazda says to adjust them per the FSM. The arm that controls this is in the rear on the driver side from the subframe to the LCA. Corksport makes an adjustable replacement, but why pay $50 for that when you can adjust it for free using the Mazda method outlined in the FSM?

    Thanks dude! Worker for my Mazda 3 2020 Mexican edition. Those cabrones saved on every detail and made the lights adjustment manual. I really suffered in the nights since I like to sit real low.

    You can use a screw driver too. There are holes above the adjustment screws that you slip the screw driver through.

      I used a screw driver the 1st time and its so much faster for me to use the ratchet wrench on the driver side and 8mm socket on the passenger side!

      For the passenger side it’s counter clock wise with the 8mm socket. I just did it. Few nights ago I did clockwise and didn’t notice a difference initially till tonight and I went waaaay low 😅. Had to go counter clockwise for a while to get it higher to match the driver side

    I have a 2019 Mazda3 Premium Hatchback with fully LED AFS headlights. Will manually adjusting them mess anything up at all, or am I good to go?

    • @DariusBuildz

      I am not sure if this procedure applies to yours 2019 as that’s considered to be the “4th” gen and I am not sure what changes they made.

    HELP PLEASE! I try to turn the plastic screw with my 8 mm socket it fits well, for some reason when I try to turn the thing it wont and the light didn't move at all. I see that the screw has a cutting line in the head so yo can slide something like a flat head screwdriver but it seems easier to go with the ratchet or closed wrench.
    My lights are really really down, it reach like 5 meters in front of the car, I need to move it up to avoid an accident.

    • @DariusBuildz
      @DariusBuildz  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      If the car is running, it will fight you to adjust. The car has to be in ACC mode.

    I need to do this, I bought a 2018 Signature used about a month ago and had the roughest ride up the Saw Mill Parkway north of NYC. The lows are aimed way too low. However neither my ratcheting 8mm socket nor a close end ratchet wrench (both look exactly like you show in the video) can fit! How did you get them in either side? Frustrated!

    • @DariusBuildz
      @DariusBuildz  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The 2018 headlight may be different, but it’s not much room back there at all. When I adjusted my friends and he has a 2016 with the led headlights, I had to detach his windshield wiper reservoir on the passenger side to get to the adjustment and he had a CAI, so I had to remove his filter to get to the driver side adjustment. I hope that helps.

    Any options to adjust headlight horizontal?

    • @DariusBuildz
      @DariusBuildz  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      As far as what I know, there is no horizontal adjustment for the AFS. There may be for the Sport and Touring Models.

  • @tjrick
    @tjrick 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    I did it. My headlight now aim highe. However, when I turn the car and the headlights on, the AFS test points inward the outward. Has this always been the case? I thought the test was down to up.

    • @tjrick

      I didn't use Corksport sensor.

    • @DariusBuildz
      @DariusBuildz  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm glad it helped to aim your headlights! AFS can be a trick! When I turn my car on, it goes up / down, then in/out to calibrate.

    • @tjrick
      @tjrick 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@DariusBuildz they do? Mine only did it once after recalibration. They don't do a test aim anymore. I wonder if I messed it something up.

    • @DariusBuildz
      @DariusBuildz  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@tjrick well, I am continuously airing up and down, so mine may have to calibrate every time for me since my ride height changes constantly.

    How ,any feet from garage door.

    • @DariusBuildz
      @DariusBuildz  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      To do it properly, you should be on flat ground, 20-25 feet from a flat wall. The cut off should be 2 inches below the center line of the light emitting from the headlight. I did not do it to that specification, but I have adjusted head lights for 18 years now and I can get it pretty close.
