Real truth! I started with cargo and enclosed trailer. Doing house clean outs and hauling. Definitely paying myself. Now moving up to two dump trailers. Keep hustling!

💯 my dad started mowing lawns as a side job with his small bucket of pickup truck and add hauling and dumping when he had more costumer along the years when he bought his first use dump trailer that’s when started to pay off
But for someone to quit their job and spend all your nest eggs to start a business without any backup plan it’s foolish And very dangerous

I worked for a roll off company for 4 years. 2 years into it, I saw these roll off trailers and decided to start trying to do this myself. I bought a used f250 and used a landscape trailer. It wasn't for a long time that I bought a pj rollster with 2 dumpsters. As of today, we have 18 pj rollsters and 5 20yard lonestars. Next month we will be purchasing a 10 wheel roll off truck and 30 yard dumpsters.
Mind you, this took YEARS to get here. You are 100 percent correct that it does NOT happen overnight.

I work full time. My interest is something in line with this,,but thinking about starting out small actually, with a single axle dump trailer, and go from there. I know the double axle can do more, but right now all I got is full sized chevy half ton. Curious to what you're thoughts are on single axle, I would think it has advantages at times?

It takes money to make money is not exactly a true or complete statement. When people have money that's what they do.
They invest a lot of it at once, don't get a return on their investments and go broke.
You have to be creative hustler. It takes hustle and creativity to make money, that's why guys with barely any money become successful because they are hustlers.
Instead of buying a $40,000 package buy the cheapest but most reliable thing you can find.
Buy a used 2500 truck. Keep your expenses low, get proof of concept first before committing fully.
This guy wanted to scale before he had a business. Get business going first then scale slowly.
I'm not in the trash pick up business, but this how I would get leads if nothing else works.
I would call realtors, and particularly ones who work with fix and flippers.
I would call wholesalers, people who sell houses to fix and flippers
And construction crews, stick lawn signs in front of home depot.
I would also pull a list of people who buy houses for cash, these are typically house flippers and call them.
    There's no way I wouldn't get business.

Bruh! Exactly!! Not to mention how APPRECIATIVE we are once we go from a cargo trailer busting our backs unloading trash by hand to an actual dump trailer!! Taking it in baby steps really makes us look back and say, you know what, the journey WAS worth it. Do I wish I would have started right away with a dump trailer? Sure, but I wouldn't have learned as much as I did doing it the hard way from the beginning had I skipped right to dump trailers! Appreciate the watch and comment my brother!

Personal Accountability is huge. If you don’t have it, you’ll be upset at all the wrong people for all the wrong reasons. It’s hard to put together a video - showing all the in’s and out’s, roadblocks, discouraging times, scary moments because life is a continuing process. It’s a constant fight. Every day is different. You can’t rely on someone else’s video experience (15m video) because there was a whole lot more than just 15m worth of blood sweat and tears to even be able to give an update video with new accomplishments over daily trials and long term goals.
People see what they want to see. I see tons of hard work from all these channels because I know I’m trying my best and boy it’s a grind to even be where I’m at in this adventure. Keep fighting and persevere everyone! God bless my friends! 😎

I've also seen another commit in the past where this guy's rolloff set up he ordered was fixing to arrive and he was actually asking questions about setting up his business and how to get work????? These are good examples of people not doing there home work, watching youtube vid's and thinking all they got to do is buy this equipment and they'll be a millionaire in a few month's. My prediction is in six to ten month's we will see alot of these rolloff setups FOR SALE.

Fast forward 6 months I got laid off at work, the wife said this is the perfect time to get start because she could keep us afloat with out falling behind on bills so we bought a package deal with 4 dumpsters. We officially start in the middle of February. We have friends family and friends of the friends that have already booked with us before we even start. I know some rents will fall through. 😂 so true, being a business owner is not for everyone. Just because you’re good at a job doesn’t mean you will be good at running a business. Now I will say some of the YT folks are just in it to sell a course or a book etc but don’t actually do the figures they are claiming. Too many folks run out and just buy equipment, this is crazy capital intensive and you will not make money the first few years, especially with 10 cans or less.

Network with them and start growing.

Great video Josh . I know I commented on another post in Dumpster Rentals 101 and the guy said he had watched a couple TH-cam videos and he wanted to get into the business and I told him to learn about your market,,cost state laws and regulations, and such learn all you can about your area don't just watch a couple videos and your going to make money.
The problem is that they only watch a couple videos and not all of them and they don't do any of their own research before jumping into the business and relying on others to do their homework.

  • @jesustrevino5287
    @jesustrevino5287 2 ปีที่แล้ว

You are completely correct! People need to do their due diligence and do research to make sure this business is a potential good business for them and their area. Also, you can't just post on facebook or other social media and expect people to just call you. About 75% of all my business is from stopping and asking clients if they need a dumpster. The other 25% usually comes from word of mouth and social media. It's definitely not as easy as people think it is. It can be easy if you put in the hard work I'm sure. Thanks for your videos! On as side note: If you don't mind me asking, how heavy can your dumpsters be with that new truck you just got? My dumpsters can take at most of 5 Tons.. anything over that is overweight.

I appreciate your vids man ! I started with an f-150 doing junk removal. Honestly because I had bought a new truck and I lost my job because of covid. I needed to make some money to make the payment haha. Was fortunate enough to get a better job but still did the junk removal on the side now I have a couple trucks and a dump trailer Its definitely been process. Now Im slowly phasing out of my 9-5 (luckily my employer has been supportive) to eventually just go into this full time and make it grow. It's been a journey for sure. Excited for what's next.

I think people see what they want to see and not take the time to research, analyze the market, research marketing. And crunch the numbers. Also create at least a simple business plan.

You could tell some people the moon is made of cheese and they would believe you! It's not easy to be a businesses owner! I started a lawn care business 10 years ago with 2 or 3 weekly customer and today we have over 100 so it doesn't happen overnight!

I’ve been in this Business for one year You really need to do your homework theres more than just renting out the dump trailer you need to knock on doors self promote and not depend on the apps to give you work you need to look for it (make a brand a name for yourself) is hard but is worth it

    I saw that post
I wish my dad bought my stuff
I used to have a single axle trailer and empty the trailer by hand too (roofing was the worst I spent 2 hrs to unload it )
Work hard and you will succeed
    Great video

Definitely a NOOB move lol. Just kidding. I can't see someone actually losing money in this business. WORST case scenario, sell the equipment for a profit right now. Simple as that.
