    So I have to admit that when I first found out about this Maxi Trac Awning that was being sold by Napa Auto Parts for $99.99 plus tax, I was super skeptical about the quality and performance of this awning.
    I mean, how good can this awning be if its only $100?
    But that was the exact reason I decided to give it a shot. I figured that for $100, even if it only lasted a season of camping, it's well worth it.
    Boy was I surprised!! When I received the awning and unboxed it, everything seemed to be made with top notch materials!!
    Anyways, as of the airing of this video, I have used it a couple of times and it has been one of the best items I have added to my truck!! This awning could easily sell for $200-$300 and it would still be a great deal.
    FYI, I also found out that the ARB 2500x2500 Awning Room will install perfectly on this awning. I am looking into getting it and will make a video installing that onto this awning so stay tuned.
    Well, hope you guys enjoy the video and like, share, comment and subscribe if you wanna see more videos like this.
    Thanks again,
    OB Crew.

    Grabbed one today, got it for $99 because I asked if they could discount it (it’s now $129 and that’s a good price too). Thanks for the video, nice rig.

    That was no small feat doing it single handed. Glad I snagged two when they had them. One for the truck and one for the cargo trailer.

      Haha, thanks for checking out the video! I've learned an easier way to set up by myself. Angle the two vertical posts away from the truck and then hold the fabric up in the middle while you swing out the horizontal arms. Still takes practice. Lol.

    Do you think it worth adding a third or forth bracket? Thinking of doing this to deter theft. Most thieves steal at convenience. If they really want it, I rather they work for it. As for spare brackets, I’m about to buy a second awning for the brackets and the awning would be a backup in case the first one rips or gets damaged in some crazy wind.

      There are 8mm security bolts that have a special socket, that's what I did as a deterrent. PM me on Instagram and I'll send you the link.

      @@OverlandBeanies So much for ordering another one, looks like it's no longer available at NAPA's website. I'll reach out to you via IG. Thanks.

      @@SidneyKo keep checking every day lol.
      It'll pop up, then sell out within a day
      I just ordered one for my wife's 4runner.
      We took it out to the river and it is a very nice piece of equipment. Worked out really well, even though I couldn't stake it due to rocks.
      I just put heavy rocks on top of the stakes for the guy ropes

      @@txrunroutdoors I was able to get a spare. The website must have been updating at the time I looked. Now there is a product line of other stuff using the Maxi Trac name. I decided to get the Maxi Trac air compressor as a back up to my ARB twin compressor (mounted in engine bay). That Maxi Trac compressor is pretty good value for the performance. 15 to 35 psi in 35 seconds. There are some quirks about the compressor which I believe can be modified at a later date.
      I am going to be using my awning on the beach. Got a matching colored 6x8 mesh tarp with grommets on Amazon. Planning to hang the mesh tarp with standardized awning hooks and secure the sides with bungee ball to the vertical poles.

      @@SidneyKo they literally just called me to cancel my order due to backorder.
      Sucks. I thought they were calling me to tell me it came in lol.
      The arb awning room works with the maxitrac btw. I saw a video on it.
      I was curious about the air compressor. Be nice if it's a good alternative to the ARB and viair.

    So you have to have a roof rack to install this thing?

    • @OverlandBeanies
      @OverlandBeanies  ปีที่แล้ว

      It helps but I've see people install it to the factory roof crossbars.

    Do you have any problems with the awning on a windy day?

    • @OverlandBeanies
      @OverlandBeanies  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah, I definitely would not set up the awning in very windy weather. Even if you have it staked down really well, wind is unpredictable and stronger than you think.

      Did you have to do body chop or any trimming to make these fit please?
