- Victoria Monet ins best known for her songwriting. She's written for groups like Fifth Harmony and Blackpink. However, she's probably most known for being one of Ariana Grande's long-time songwriters and collaborators. She's written for all six of her albums. Most recently, Victoria has received attention for Thank U Next and 7 Rings. However, she's written other Ariana hits like My Everything, Moonlight, Goodnight N Go, and 34+35. Victoria often write with Ariana, as well as their other collaborators Tommy Brown and Tayla Parks. Victoria has also had a long solo career. She's collaborated with artists like T.I. and MGK. Her most recent album, Jaguar produced songs like Moment and Experience, her collaboration with Khalid. This album perfectly showcased the retro sound and aesthetic Victoria seems to be making her brand. Victoria definitely deserves more attention for not only being a genius songwriter, she's also an insanely talented performer.

Heap one is not as good.
Goodnight n go was covered by Ariana as it was one of Mac Millers favourite songs and growing up Ariana also took a lot of inspiration from Imogen Heap so she got in contact and got permission (and I believe paid) to be able to cover the song. This is why after a few shows into her 2019 Sweetener World Tour she had removed it off the setlist and replaced it with "Get well soon" for the remainder of the first American legion of the tour due to her emotional attachment to Mac Miller and the song bringing back memories of him which in most performances resulted in her getting upset and having voice cracks or simply just crying.
She is so much more than a song writer. Have you heard her sing and watched her perform? It breaks my heart to see her so slept on.

She's this generations Keri Hilson. Writes songs for others that gain mainstream popularity but when she releases songs for herself they don't get the same hype. Maybe she'll blow up one day but I enjoy her music.

I always thought Victoria was born in 1993, which would make her 29 years old. However, I did research after watching this video, and you’re right, she was born in 1989. It just goes to show that there is ageism in the entertainment industry, which causes many women to lie about their age. It shouldn’t make a difference because the woman is talented as hell & beautiful 🤎✨

I was just thinking the exact same thing until I remembered she had a song with Eric Bellinger that I used to play called “Liquid Courage” when I was in 8th grade. That song title alone made me realize she had to be 21 or over when that song came out (in 2014) and her birthday isn’t shown under her name on google search .. so that DEFINITELY proves that ageism is so relevant in the industry for women still to this day .. women feeling they have to lie about their age to prevent dimming their light or image is so so heartbreaking 💔 . We literally ALL will grow old one day ..

I noticed the age change also. My bday is 5/3/1993 & seeing in 2018 on google her bday was 5/1/1993 so I called her my Twin😭🤷🏾♀. After she gave birth to her daughter, her bday year on google changed to 1989... At first shocked but understood right away. Age shouldn't matter when you're THAT talented!💫
I noticed that when Ariana started hanging out with Victoria that’s when she started to take on/mimic victoria’s talking voice/laugh.
Victoria really is THAT girl when it comes to writing/singing/dancing/producing. I wish she was given the credit and push that she truly deserves.

I work in the branding industry and people don't realize how important it is to have a strong brand. I think what has ultimately stopped Victoria from getting bigger is she doesn't have a strong brand that distinguishes her from other good R&B and pop artists. You can have the best music in the world but if you don't have a strong brand and artist image, people will just not pay attention to you.

That’s weird because I feel like she does have a brand. Since jaguar her color scheme was all brown and gold and her music has an old time ish feel to it.

I love this! Not enough people know about Victoria and she deserves all the flowers. Her sound is truly one of a kind and i wish nothing but continuous growth for her in the music industry. She is the truth!! Idk why more people haven’t discovered her talents
I knew she was a good singer from hearing on social media but wow. Literally all the songs she worked on for Ariana are my favorite songs, especially ghostin and honeymoon avenue. If I had known she was the master behind those songs I would’ve delved into her music more.

Lowkey, arianna is the visual representation of her artistry…along with others she’s collaborated with. As long as she’s always getting her credit…i say her place just to the left of center stage seems healthy, sustainable, and enjoyable….. being famous doesn’t seem as fun and carefree as her super long career that seems to be without public scandal……

If you look at Victoria's song association video she says she see's herself more on the artistic side of things than being at the forefront. I think being a writer is always going to be her main career and her music is more of a side project. When she did the thank you next interview with Ariana, and Ariana was talking about the additional stuff that comes with being a music artist sucks and just wanting to make music with her friends and sing, I think Victoria's see's all that and is comfortable not being in the forefront. Victoria has that luxury of being to be a part of all these cool projects, do her own stuff and then go back to a pretty normal life.
I love Victoria so much she is insanely talented and Jaguar is one of my favorite recent pop/r&b albums.

I wonder if Victoria’s career not as a songwriter but a frontline singer would flourish is she was more white or white passing. I found Victoria in 2016 with her third EP, Life after Love. New love made me an instant Stan. Her best days are still ahead of her and I’m excited to see how she continues to grow.

Fun fact: you can hear victorias vocals in the back of ghostin towards the end of the song. I believe Ariana said she couldn’t finish recording the song so Victoria (and I thinkkkk tayla) finished the backing vocals for her
Honeymoon Avenue is superlative! If Victoria transferred that doo-wop, tidal variety of sound into her lyrical empire, she could emerge as a more widely-beloved (and recognized!) artist.
