When they called her name, I screamed like I knew her for real! I was so happy she both got the recognition she deserved and she got a moment on broadcast.
I'm just glad we're in the era where black women outside of Beyoncé & Rihanna are getting exposed to mainstream success. How Does it Feel & Goodbye are my FAVORITES
I still can’t believe that ‘On My Mama’ is not a top 20 or top 10 on the U.S. Hot 100. Regardless of that, I’m happy to see Victoria succeeding with Jaguar II. Hopefully, she makes ‘Alright’ as the next single, and makes a music video🐆
She has been overlooked for years! I was so happy she won numerous Grammy's this year😃 Sidenote: Smoke (Reprise) is hands down one of the best interludes I have ever heard!
I'm so happy you made a video about Jaguar II!! Ever since I discovered Victoria when the Jaguar EP came out I've loved her music (especially Coastin', that's one of my favorite songs of hers). One thing I'm glad you pointed out is how she used live instrumentation on the Jaguar tracks and how it really shows. Not only does it help evoke the 60s-70s theming, but it also makes the sound really rich and velvety. Idk if that makes sense lol. Here's to hoping her career only grows from here on out!!
Even though everyone is saying that it’s been long overdue to get her flowers (which I agree with), I think this was the perfect time for her to pop off, she’s basically been molding her craft for over a decade without the need to be in the front as well as being able to have a balance between her work and her private life. Look at her now, she’s a mother with a beautiful family with an immense resume with a polished sound winning Grammys with a sold out tour at 34 with so much left to do. God’s timing is good y’all
I loved that album and she deserves the Grammy awards. The era was really amazing and I’m glad she finally got the recognition she deserved. Would be willing to do an era video on Janet Jackson’s Velvet Rope era? I’m so inspired by her style during that time and her musical lyrics are so timeless to me.
My love for Cadillac is so real and so deep. The glee that fills my heart when I sing along to the “Lose all your money…” part…unmatched. I also love I’m the One. But the whole album is amazing. Not too many people can say they put out a no-skip, Grammy award winning debut album
This project is so cohesive and sonically amazing. I remember listening to it the first time and hearing the same Victoria Monet I fell in love with with the Jaguar EP. Immersive is such a good word to describe this perfection of an album
Victoria has found her stride and I am so happy for her. She is absolutely overflowing with creative talent, and she’s just breathtaking in every way ✨🪩
I love this album so much, its one my favourites of 2023 along with electric dusk by leom thomas. Can we have a video on him, he also worked for Ariana before finding his success
I think Victoria Monet is one of the few artists out right now who successfully using retro influences but still keeping a unique sound/artistry and I lover her music for that. I went to the tour for my birthday!!! Ass Like That is the song that introduced me to her as a solo artist. I like this album more and more with each listen. My favorite on the first pass was I'm The One, but lately I've really been liking Good Bye.
I love this album so muchhhhhh. It’s my favorite. I hope we get more from this Era. :) I saw her live on the Jaguar tour and she’s a star.🤩 I was literally starstruck
im rooting for her to come to mexico idk if its too early for that or what the parameters r for her to come but im waiting! my top 3 in the album are alright, im the one, and party girls. ive been listening a lot to dive from jaguar I tho
I discovered Victoria Monet from your videos, and have been a fan ever since, thank you for putting me on! . Both Jaguar and Jaguar II are perfection, no skips. I especially love Goodbye , Cadillac and Smoke Reprise . Her tour was everything she sounded just like the record and she brought out baby Hazel , and you could see John and her mom in the audience (it was so wholesome and so cute!) !!!!! I'm so happy for her grammy wins, she deserves the world!
I saw her in Charlotte. Well, it was so crowded that I couldn’t “see” much but I still had the time of my life!!! The energy in the building was amazing, everyone was so happy and we were all singing along. I am determined to see her again!
We are so lucky to be alive in the Victoria Monet era. She is truly the best performer and seeing her live shook me to my core. Here’s to her ongoing success 🥂🤎
The entire Jaguar era (both EP and album 2) was so genius. She paid homage to the legends but she really made it her own from the visuals, vibes, colors, themes etc. I’m happy she got her flowers and the Grammy she deserves it
I’m gonna forever thank her for “How Does It Make You Feel”. I remember running that back a few times while listening to the album the first time. Beautiful slice of R&B.
I love some Victoria Monét. I heard about her as a writer first for Ariana Grande and I couldn’t get into her music originally and I hated that because I’m like I love Ariana’s music, but why am I not Vibin with Victorias but I feel like once I found the song for me, I’ve been hooked ever since she is that girl I love her.
I was so excited to see that you were making this video! I got to see her on tour I have loved her music for a while but I was truly blown away by her show! I can’t wait to see what direction she goes in next.
ah was waiting for another video on Victoria!!!!! any content with Mama Monet is always welcome haha so so proud of her and so happy that she finally gets to shine like she deserves 😍🥳 unmatched talent, all- kill idol, she always serves that 'real artist" energy - she does THE MOST, from writting her own music to overseeing choreography, styling choices, set designs, mvs recording process....and she puts her whole heart and soul into all the projcets. Her songs always feel very carefully crafted from beginning to end which is so rare these couple of years when it comes to music stage in America especially i think. She truly cares for art and puts that passion before the trends and shallow glittery side of today's music - mostly pop and hip hop, cuz imo both genres have sold themselves to the mainstream power and the sound of the coins earned on empty catchiness, cursing and "aesthetics before the meaning" new vibe of artists. Having Vicoria blending r&b with hip hop and 2000-2010 pop influances with such attention to detail and true love for the genres is a blessing. Can't wait for else she has cooking for us!
I feel like Jaguar II is a play on Beyonces B Day album especially the single Kitty Kat. The ascetics and all. I love this album. It’s very relaxing without sounding like lounge music. I think “How Does It Feel” is my favorite track.

What's funny is I've know of her for yrs but had never heard her music. I just kept hearing the rnb lovers talk about her and I never have her a chance until that coasting song and I started paying attention. Now I'm all in. Rooting for everything Victoria. I love her image her style her mentality her everything. The musicality in her songs I love because I'm a motown girl and earth wind and fire is one of favorite groups as well as the temptations. So I could really vibe with her. I've been obsessed with that song Cadillac it has been on repeat. I wanna go to the roots picnic and see her
I cried in happiness reflecting on her recent but long deserved success 🥲 One of my biggest regrets was not staying another night in Houston to see her the day after I was at renaissance 😭 Next tour for sure!!
Flawless debut album, Hollywood is my favorite track. Those Grammys were deserved so is the rise of On My Mama (although it's still weird to me that it didn't crack top 30 yet).
I went to her first LA date for the tour and when I tell you EVERYONE stepped out for Victoria! I was up on the balcony with my best friend and we were close to Coco Jones, Amber Riley, and Terrell Grice. Kelly Rowland, Zendaya, Joyce Wrice, Nate from Insecure (forget that actor's name) and so many more people came to that same date and showed so much love and support. It was amazing to see such massive stars all love and support her and know just about every song she performed.
Okay, I know people don’t really mention this song, but I looovvveee, I’m The One. The storytelling and the string arrangement! Always unearths deep emotion from me
the tour ate but tbh... I barely saw victoria bc the venue wasnt really set up in a way that allowed me or many other people to see her and im pretty tall so even on my tippie toes I couldnt see so i had to watch the tour mostly through my phone.
Girl why you didn’t review “I’m The One”? That’s one of my fav songs on the album. I went to the tour. It was amazing. She even incorporated Kevin Hart in “Alright”.
I hate that the r&b girlies can't get top 10 hits like the 2000's girls. Besides SZA we have nobody. Even when Ciara was in her "flop" era she was still able to get a top 10 hit, like its so sad to me. Even summer walker didn't really book on top of the hot 100 even tho her album did well.
I thought this too originally but the thing about J2 is that it's a grower. You gotta play it throughout the year and you'll find yourself redisovering songs or hearing them differently.
I went to see her in concert with my best friend in October, she is a phenomenal artist I’ve been a fan of her’s since twenty seventeen and she’s from where I’m from Sacramento, it’s an honor watching her growth because I would love to be where she is one day, I’m so proud of her she deserves every award she’s receiving fr 🤎🤎🤎
i’m so happy she won the grammy she deserved it so much !!
When they called her name, I screamed like I knew her for real! I was so happy she both got the recognition she deserved and she got a moment on broadcast.
btw she’s confirmed to perform at the women in music awards so yes she will be attending! so excited
Yesss!!! This is great news lol
No skips. One smooth flow. Still listen to it at least 47 times a week. Lol. So good. ❤
I'm just glad we're in the era where black women outside of Beyoncé & Rihanna are getting exposed to mainstream success.
How Does it Feel & Goodbye are my FAVORITES
Especially when Rihanna is not talented and Beyoncé is a THIEF.

I definitely love 'Alright'@@AngeBiampandou
I LOVE Alright! Would love a video
social media has allowed moderate hits to feel much bigger than they are.
@@disneytoysr4fun975 Let's be honest here. How many hot 100 songs are better that On my Mama?
She has been overlooked for years! I was so happy she won numerous Grammy's this year😃

Same!
Alright needs to be the next single or i’m calling hazel!
Deadass! I feel like ‘Alright’ can perform well on the U.S. Hot 100 if the music video/promo is great!
@@JulianSteve ITS A BANGER
Yes, I love that song maybe and definitely needs to be the next single.

I loved that album and she deserves the Grammy awards. The era was really amazing and I’m glad she finally got the recognition she deserved.

Seconding for Janet!
I agree with the Janet video too!
Ughhh this was such a good era’s analyzed 🫶🏽and her tour really was an amazing experience!!! 10/10
She is such a nice person, I met her before her show!! She deserves all the success but she should have gotten this at least 7 years ago 😩
