- POWER BLINDS | The Word Exposed with Cardinal Tagle (October 20, 2024)
Today is the Twenty-ninth Sunday in Ordinary Time; in today’s gospel, Jesus tells James and John: “Can you drink the cup that I drink or be baptized with the baptism with which I am baptized”?
This is because the brothers have asked Jesus to give them the seats of authority and honor beside him, when he finally reigns. One at his right, and the other at his left. The Lord reveals: “For the Son of Man did not come to be served but to serve and to give his life as a ransom for many.”
Friends, this conversation of Jesus with James and John and the rest of the disciples is an invitation for us to reflect on why we are following Jesus and why we serve in different capacities. Do we still remember our purpose and aim? It was very clear to Jesus. He came to become the servant of all to the point of sacrificing himself. Will we be willing to serve and suffer as Jesus did? Or will we strive for power that blinds ambitious people?

It is the policy of christianism, in line with the gospel of the vineyard, that all men shall expose and proclaim the word of the lord in every gospel because there are elder son who never went
Today is the 29th Sunday in Ordinary Time.
The word that is bright as the sun is: the government of the world shall be democratic where the rulers are the servant of all
The banquet of the lord is held in the holy eucharist

The clause in Democratic constitution viz:"to secure for ourselves the blessings of democracy under the rule of law" is a fulfillment of the word in the gospel viz:"the rulers among you shall be the servant of all" because the rule of law emanates from the people,the masters

This gospel is about monarchy, oligarchy, anarchy and democracy.This gospel proclaimed the form of government that will establish a kingdom of God on earth as it is in heaven
How does Democracy fare against "Power Blinds"?
Creating words of different context as the word in the gospel makes the word was God perish on earth
The word of the word incarnate is the bread of life.Definitely "Power Blinds" cannot be a bread of life

The Kingdom of God is not a democracy. His laws are not debatable. The only choice we make is whether to do his will or not. There are no rights only gifts that He gives as He sees fit for the salvation of souls. Separation of state and religion assumes there is a sphere where God does not reign-State. Wrong. There is no sphere where we reign. We are simply stewards. We have lost sight of this. Give to Ceaser what is Ceaser’s and God what is God’s-everything including Ceaser.

The statement " Power Blinds"is declarative whereas the statement "the greatest among you will ne the servant of all"is injunctive or words of command.
Now that I am blocked nobody will expose the democratic words proclaimed in this gospel
The world will no longer remember what Jesus said here, what the world will long remember is that Jesus Christ's death is an expiation for the sins of the world
The mass is not a healing Maas nor a prayer mass.The holy mass holy eucharist is the banquet of the lord.
"Power Blinds" makes no sense in the gospel that prescribe democracy, where the rulers are the servant of all," as the form of government in the kingdom of God on earth as it is in heaven
