Got my R8 a few weeks ago, and I absolutely love it. It’s a perfect travel camera, and great B cam for other shoots. The canon cripple isn’t bad on this camera. For the money, it’s amazing.
Agreed, Canon did find a nice sweet spot with this camera when it comes to value Vs. performance. Thank you for taking the time to watch as well as leave your feedback. Both are appreciated.
I bought an R8 last weekend. I have only taken a few shots and find that it feels very lightweight and (sorry) cheap in my hands. This is compared to main camera the 90D. I really think i would be better to return this and buy the R6 MKii....or just go to a completely different line like fuji or sony??
Yeah, the Canon R6Mkii is a workhorse of a camera. I often recommend that particular model to Canon shooters looking to upgrade from an older DSLR model.
MANY TKANKS THOMAS :) R8 is VERY GOOD first/basic FF HYBRID SHOOTER in case of AF and PIC + VIDEO QUALITY, but it's a PITY, that has ONE SD SLOT ONLY and also hasn't HDMI RAW OUTPUT, i.e. not possible any backup :( Also weak battery for longer videos...
Let me reach out to my Canon rep to see if they have a link to factory test footage and grading LUT. I should have something for you in a day or so. Thank you for your request.
The R7 is a phenomenal Camera from Canon. That being said, I want to say thank you for taking the time to ask a question and watch the video. Both are appreciated. If I were to choose a between the R7 or the R8, I would choose the R7 six days a week in twice on Sunday. It truly is a powerhouse. I can say with confidence that you would not be disappointed.
R7 offers the most allround, but if you look for the best image quality in the smallest package (for travel for example), you better go with the R8. Problem with crop in the RF line is also that the line up of primes is made for FF, focal lenght wise.
That is a tough call, Jay. I would be inclined to choose the R6. Even though the R8 is newer, I still enjoy the specs of the R6, not to mention it has IBIS. Let me know which one you choose. Thanks for watching and adding to the discussion.
@@GetOutArizonaSame here, I'm leaning towards the R6 as well. As I occasionally do paid shoots, the dual card slots will be beneficial. Thanks for the video.

Great video ! Thank you so much; this was exact the info I needed before buying the R8.
Michel, I appreciate your feedback as well as taking the time to watch my review. I'll be posting a full menu tutorial in the next few days as well.
Great Video Thomas!
Thank you, my friend, for the feedback and for taking the time to watch. I sincerely appreciate both.

26:58, you know the R8 and R6ii share the same sensor, right? R8 is better is low light than R7.

@@GetOutArizona Thanks, I'll be waiting for your response 😃
Which one is more allround, the R7 or the R8. Does the R7 a good job in low light conditions?

I'm deciding between the R8 or a refurbished R6. Both at the same price @ $1499.
