I'm a Filipina who have travelled to India several times from North to South. I'm in love with it's culture, nature, food and people. Both Filipinos and Indians are very nice and friendly.. 😊

In the Philippines, hygiene in the body, food and at home is a big thing and it's also because how parents were so strict to their children regarding hygiene to avoid sickness. When I went to India, they are less hygienic but that is how they have been raised and lived ever since. So I have nothing against it and I have embraced their culture too. Just need to adapt and respect each other. Bumbay is mostly our tagalog term for Indians. To some traditional Filipinos, they refer Indians to the Native Indians/tribes. So yes, it's common we call Indians Bumbay here but we don't say it directly to them.

You should see videos of Shillong in India and Baguio in Philippines. The cities are quite similar and the people also are similar. Filipinos are like certain North East Indian tribes like Khasis, Bodos and Tripuris.

If you want to experience the real Filipino life, go to the rural province. Interact with the locals there. That's also the advise other foreign tourists would give. Land in Manila, then immediately pick a province to travel into.
I'm glad you had a great experience in my country, India. Fact remains, there ain't a nation on the globe which is as diverse as India, be it Climate, People, Culture, Food, Rituals and what not. It's like a VIBGYOR of the Rainbow 🌈. Apart from the love and warmth, what we have in abundance is our sheer number. 😉 But as the saying goes Home is not a mere accumulation of bricks, it's the people living in it who breathe life in it. The same goes for India. Just compare it to the ever dwindling population of many EU nations, they are giving citizenship just to sustain their workforce. Anyways, without digressing from the main point, I must say I loved your series on India. Hope you all 3 had a nice stint out here. Give my blessing to the baby. Fact remains, there ain't a nation on the globe which is as diverse as India, be it Climate, People, Culture, Food, Rituals and what not.
It's like a VIBGYOR of the Rainbow 🌈.
Apart from the love and warmth, what we have in abundance is our sheer number. 😉
But as the saying goes Home is not a mere accumulation of bricks, it's the people living in it who breathe life in it.
The same goes for India. Just compare it to the ever dwindling population of many EU nations, they are giving citizenship just to sustain their workforce.
