The driver's seat on my LC goes forward automatically. You have to reset the seat by manually sliding the seat all the way forward, then all the way back. The beeping on the seat will go away also. As for the constant beeping in reverse; you can have that changed to only one beep at the dealership.
Wow! what a great review. Every other Lexus LC review I've seen has just raved about how brilliant the car is. This is the only review I've seen that also highlights the small negative issues with the car.
Finally! Somebody understands the fact that it’s not supposed to be a performance car with either engine. Large Coupe is what LC stands for, it’s a LS ( Large Sedan) 2 door.
It’s not fast, it won’t carve canyons, but it’s cool door handles make it the most INCREDIBLE car you’ve driven all year? K. Clearly Carfection has nothing to fear by this channel.
The beeps from the seat are so the driver can set their preference and when the driver slides it forward, they'll count the beeps so that way when sliding it back they can count back the beeps to their initial driving position so they won't have to reset position.
Some of the features he dislikes alike seat noise and reverse beeping is something that other countries have USA is the only one that doesn't. That backup beeping I wish all cars had that that would reduce idiots from backing up into other cars by accident.
You can get the 470 HP V8 for the same price tho, which may not be the highest performing vehicle but you still get that awesome V8, Carbon Fiber and an LSD and nothing at this price range has the interior quality that this thing has.
My gosh, imagine the LC in a 6-speed manual? Not only would it retain its value better, but would be a total ball to drive. My friend has a 1993 Lexus SC300 with a stick. He'll never sell it.
Nice, but for the money, I'll take the 5.0 litre V8 any day of the week. I want the growl & the extra horses. If I were that concerned about fuel, I'd buy a Prius. They should really make a "rear seat delete" option for more efficient storage.
The reverse gear beep is for safety. You can still open up whatever menu you like on the infotainment, and thus overriding the backup camera. Like perhaps opening up Spotify! Having the beep reminds you that you are in reverse. It has saved my ass twice so far in 2 years of ownershio
1:00 Actually, LC stands for Lexus Challenge, not luxury coupe as most ppl seem to think. This is when Akido Toyoda challenged the lexus team to build a car that's not boring ;) So the code name was LC. 8:02 No you don't need to force it to stop. Just need to let the seat touch your knees and/or feet, then it will gently go forward a couple of inches :D As for rear seat headroom, anyone under 5 feet 6 inches tall fits fine.
Incredible car. For 100k this car can’t be beat. Incredible levels of quality. Surpassing BMW Audi and Benz quality this is RR level and BENTLEY quality AND supercar styling just for 100k. Incredible. The 600HP plus F model that’s coming will be a serious performance car and will put this car in serious company. This car needs to be in the spot light more.
Salty Balls 8 series ? LOL. That BMW does not stack up to this car. You clearly have not been in this Lexus. That BMW 8 interior is dead belong compared to this Lexus. This Lexus interior would feel at home in a Ferrari. This Lexus has exposed carbon but with the 8 series does not S class does not. The car reviewer in this video would have brought up the 8 series and S class if that was the case. He clearly said it’s the best car he has ever been in. This Lexus LC constantly compared to Bentley and Rolls Royce AND Aston Martin. Cars over 200k. The 8 series is never compared to any of those. This car comes off as real life concept car. The S class and 8 series does not.
@@Toyota4Life The S-class has been the class benchmark for decades. It has not only been tested against cars like the Continental GT but also won pretty much every test so far. At the top of that the S-class is now in it's six production year and it is still a riot for its competition. I found one test whore the Lexus was tested against an Aston. Still lost.
Most of what makes the LC 500 what it is can't really be removed without ruining it. It's not the kind of car you can "tone down". Most Lexus vehicles are toned up Toyotas with better parts, insulation and luxury materials. With the LC, sure you have plenty of soft-touch materials, but pretty much everything else is performance-focused and scratch-made. That's where 85% of the price is coming from. Not to mention, the Supra needs to be a sports car. This is a GT car. Two different classes of vehicle. You really can't turn one into the other without massively reworking it, which, in itself, would drive prices up and make the Supra even more prohibitively expensive; something Toyota doesn't want. I agree. The Supra should not be built with BMW parts. I don't like that Toyota are compromising their legendary reliability by using what is essentially a rebadged BMW for a name as iconic as the Supra, but at the end of the day, I won't be driving it, and it's no skin off my nose if they disappoint the buyers and Toyota's executives. Hopefully their next attempt is better.
@@RPGTKingpin It seems that next will be the Mazda`s straight-6. Toyota has some joint venture with them to develop the I6. That might be a very interesting engine. I haven`t found any official info regarding what Toyota is planning to do with the engine, but it is somehow safe to assume it will be used in next-gen Supra.
This should of been the Toyota Supra....I really wish they did the supra on this platform instead, and just removed all the luxury weight and put a manual in it.... Maybe this would not been as traditional with the supra using a inline 6 instead.. but this car just looks to me to be a better buy even with the huge price tag.
LC stands for Lexus Challenge, not Luxury Coupe. Other than that, good review. I own the 2018 V8 model. InfraRed with Toasted Caramel. It's a fantastic car and the reviewer is correct. It is under-priced. It should cost twice what it does. If you factor in Lexus reliability, maybe three times? I looked at at least 15-20 "supercars" for over two years and not one of them excited me. There was always at least one or two things that sucked and the reliability of Ferrari, Aston Martin, Lambo, Maserati, McLaren etc. is pathetic. The LC 500 is just the perfect car....except for the back seat. It really isn't meant for more than two people. Everything else on the car is awesome. Keep in mind that it is not, nor was it meant to be a race car or track car. It's simply one helluva nice car to drive. It has great handling. It has way more than enough power. It's comfortable and everything works great. The only thing I'm going to change when it's time are the front brake pads. They work great but they are so dusty and dirty. I'm doing research now on which ones to get!! Again, very good review.

I don't buy a vehicle for back seats. I used to have a crew cab pickup, then traded in. They had a 8 year newer club cab with more goodies much less miles and a smaller back seat. When people complain, I say "I'm sorry, I never noticed. I'm usually driving."
That shifter is straight from the 2nd gen Prius. Exactly the same pattern. And the beeping is some Japanese law. Physically the shifter does not move to park. So its not possible to determine that you are in reverse. Apart from the camera and the shifter light on the screen. But the 2nd gen and all other Priuses have it. My friends manual Celica had it and some other Japanese cars have it.

I've been watching hours of videos on the LC500H which i do love. This one is without any contest the best one. Thanks! Cheers from France ;0)
Finally! Somebody understands the fact that it’s not supposed to be a performance car with either engine. Large Coupe is what LC stands for, it’s a LS ( Large Sedan) 2 door.
An exotic touring car that's reliable 😮
It's not Exotic, it's a Toyota. You are misusing the phrase.
That car is so amazing it makes me want to cry that it exists.
How about the sound system? Mark levinson? How many speakers? I wish you demonstrated it.
108k with 354hp and he wonders how they can afford the nice material...... they traded performance for build quality and design. that's how Tommy
The exact thing was running through my head
You can get the 470 HP V8 for the same price tho, which may not be the highest performing vehicle but you still get that awesome V8, Carbon Fiber and an LSD and nothing at this price range has the interior quality that this thing has.
@@donovantompkins9952 that "v8" is slower than a Nissan 370z nice interior or not it looks fast but isn't and that's a problem for me at 108k
@Jack Z 5.7!??!?!?!?!?!?!??! that's blasphemy
@Jack Z motortrend says 4.7-5.1 depending on the year. I'll take that and pocket the remaining 60k
This is truly a: Relentless Pursuit Of Perfection:)
The LC is just.... so.... god... damn.... BEAUTIFUL 🤤
It's not going be sitting at repair shops and getting towed all the time.
What happens to those door handles when the car is encased in ice?
I dont think anyone who owns this would park it outside.
My gosh, imagine the LC in a 6-speed manual? Not only would it retain its value better, but would be a total ball to drive. My friend has a 1993 Lexus SC300 with a stick. He'll never sell it.
Couldn't find paved road for filming and testing?
Nice, but for the money, I'll take the 5.0 litre V8 any day of the week. I want the growl & the extra horses. If I were that concerned about fuel, I'd buy a Prius. They should really make a "rear seat delete" option for more efficient storage.
Rear seat delete=what the supra should have been basically
The reverse gear beep is for safety. You can still open up whatever menu you like on the infotainment, and thus overriding the backup camera. Like perhaps opening up Spotify! Having the beep reminds you that you are in reverse. It has saved my ass twice so far in 2 years of ownershio
Great review Tommy..its such a well made car...no cheap stuff in there
@5:11 isn't that carbon fiber on the door as well?? If so, you didn't mention that.
What does the corresponding LS stand for then?
Incredible car.
For 100k this car can’t be beat. Incredible levels of quality. Surpassing BMW Audi and Benz quality this is RR level and BENTLEY quality AND supercar styling just for 100k. Incredible. The 600HP plus F model that’s coming will be a serious performance car and will put this car in serious company. This car needs to be in the spot light more.
You have probably never sit in an S-Coupe or 8-Series to come up with a statement like this. The quality of both interios is just flawless.
The infotainment is a hold over and not impressive, like he says, that should've been updated to the quality of a Tesla.
@Jack Z i don't know personally, but it sounds like ppl are impressed by the infotainment aspect of it.
Still lost.
This could have been toned down into the supra instead of using BMW car
Toyota made the right choice. You don’t like it don’t buy it - no problem
Thank you for the cluless comment Brahhadeesh
@@victorkenarsy3024 Nah they didn't. They shouldn't try to revive supra in the first place. They did anyway, awfully
This should of been the Toyota Supra....I really wish they did the supra on this platform instead, and just removed all the luxury weight and put a manual in it.... Maybe this would not been as traditional with the supra using a inline 6 instead.. but this car just looks to me to be a better buy even with the huge price tag.
"If I could have a ring made out of this volume knob..." That sure is the first time ever those words are constructed into that sentence.
Man Lexus makes fantastic cars.
Wow Tommy you have come a long way since your first days on the show this was a very well done review. I also like how you guys have relocated where you put the people involved in making this episode up in the top corner.
Great review. Just want to say, anyone buying the LC500 wouldn't think twice about rear leg room. If Lexus just left t out, no one would whine about it. One of my dream car for sure. -;p
Beautiful car😀. 5.0 for me though 👍
But I will buy the hybrid version anyway.
Should have deleted the rear seat and offered more storage?
probably something to do with mpg or emissions.
i’d rather have an emergency seat
tinhinnh Emergency seat behind passenger and more storage behind driver seat!!
You can get creative with storage, you can’t do that with a small group of people (4 ppl) with only two front seats
For insurance discounts, they probably easy to remove
Gorgeous car
I can’t afford it
Great job Tommy!
Honestly that was the funniest review of a vehicle I have ever seen.. that being said great effort 👍
Love my 500h and will willingly defend the track pad system. Furthermore I'm sat on the other side to you (UK car) and drive the pad with my left hand with no problems whatsoever. Beautifully constructed car that simply oozes quality from every pore. I think this one is likely to be a keeper 😛
Keep up the great reviews!
Alcantara is much cheaper than any Semi-Aniline or Aniline leather. It isn't wool like in the Crown...it's just a fabric suede.
The best luxury Coupe ever 🔥🔥🔥
So I’m glad I went with the loaded Q50 Hybrid Sport with the same reliability and a reasonable backseat for 1/4 of the price with 30k miles :)
The back seats are there for you to save alot of money on insurance, it is not usable.
That’s the car I would get the build quality is excellent I sat in one at an auto show simply amazing
Beautiful interior and reliability
Good performance
Under average looks
Ryan? The temp?
Gotta say, this man has impeccable taste.
Jodi from AutoGuide said it’s the worst car she’d ever driven...Could never figure AutoGuide out.
Smooth Operator
Jodi’s a woman so there’s no need to listen to her.
I don't buy a vehicle for back seats. I used to have a crew cab pickup, then traded in. They had a 8 year newer club cab with more goodies much less miles and a smaller back seat. When people complain, I say "I'm sorry, I never noticed. I'm usually driving."
My favorite car! When the cabriolet comes out, that will become my favorite.
yeah and looking the way you do, Im sure your mate will let you ride in his, until he gets tired of you
Rick James he’ll never get sick of me
That shifter is straight from the 2nd gen Prius.
I used to love fancy, fast and expensive cars. . . And then I grew up.
I guess you never heard of that mid-life crisis?
i have this powertrain only 10 years older with 300hp in a RX and i love that V6 sound soooomuch !! Never ever i would buy a LExus with a loud crying 4cyl. Hybrid !! So sad they dont offer this powerplant in their sedan ES ! The GD450h was the last with it and did well on Autobahn !! But in the LC500Hybrid they better had put in the V8Hybrid !!!
6:28...here that isolation ? ....that´s what i like in my Lexus
Lexus makes very good products.
Granted the parent company is Toyota just like Tata an Indian car company is the parent company for land rover and Range Rover; VW is the parent company for Bentley, Porsche and VW and Audi; BMW is the parent company for Rolls Royce.
All these cars sometimes share components and platforms from their parent company but that doesn’t make them Toyotas, VWs, Tatar’s and unreliable BMWs.
I don’t see you guys come on here and say that these luxury cars are just VWs, Cheap BMWs and Tata cars.
I guess some of you are just ignorant as they come.
A majority of you have never owned nor will ever own these cars to feel, and see how they drive be it Lexus, Rolls Royce, Porsche, BMW, etc.
What is the price in Us
I’ve seen this in Metallic Red and it’s an incredible car. The Lexis infotainment system is possibly the least intuitive I’ve ever seen.
Doug Demuro is quaking, someone tall, lankier, and younger is coming for him. I've always thought that lol idk
James Cilia 🙄
Not to mention that it’ll last you decades with little issues. Japanese brands are heavily underrated.
That amber window tint is everything 😍
Will the rear seats keep moving back if someone’s sitting back there. 😬
no
Yes
let me guess Tommy also wonders how dodge affords to give us near 900hp for under 100,000...... I'll help you Tommy they gave use power instead of build quality. the opposite of this car
Beau Daniel please. Fake news bs that way👉🏻
I’ll take my trouble free 4 year old Hellcat vs. this slow, overpriced Corolla, any day.
SRT Sorbs exactly man, nothing special about this car, and would much rather have a mopar than this......thing
@@Welcometofacsistube what's fake news?
@@C8sorbs wow, okay you got me at overpriced corolla😂😂😂. It isn't by the way and u see those dodge Mopar cars are aimed at one thing Speed. That's not the aim of the LC500 or the lc500h. Its just a quick (not fast) comfortable gt. But That's your opinion and I respect it but, you are some what not seeing the point of this vehicle. Cheers
The Rolls Royce reference is nieve. Bentley Continental GT would smoke every part of this car. But it won't have the Lexus reliabilty.
Jason Buis Hence the Rolls Royce reference as it’s a soft cruiser and not much of a performer.
@@aurelioduarte-encinas8211 Well the Bentley models come in a smooth touring or very sporty suspension.
Rolls Royce and Bentley are two different brands...?
A fine review Tommy!
The Supra of our time. And it's really really nice inside.
If that is the most incredible car you have ever driven then I pity you ;)
You should review the 8 series with a white interior as well. I think the quality is as good if not better and the looks of chosen in a good colour are fantastic
Oh dear god no. Have you been inside both cars? The LC500 makes the 8 series interior look like the inside of a bin liner. Different league. The 8 series is not special at all
Beautiful car made for a beautiful couple and their beautiful twin kids . Hats off.
