      Cupholders. Lack thereof. Just ONE for a touring car. Trunk space sucks and "back seats" if you can call them that really suck.
      Interior real estate just sucks.
      Wife and I looked at it and our 2010 Lexus IS350 convertible has more room, has a shorter wheel base than this LC.
      Just about the same trunk space with the top down! So what incentive did we have to buy the LC? None. Especially the cup holder issue. Not acceptable in a $100k car. To be fair so does her IS 350 BUT at least one can fit real adults in the back seat and the trunk is enormous for a vert with the top up.

    • @SlowWhip
      @SlowWhip 5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Rxonmymind Why do people complain about trunk space? It's a 2 coupe so what do you expect? It's a weekend car not an SUV. It's not a family car, that's why SUV and Trucks exist.

      It's about value to cost.
      When my wife's Lexus IS 350 convertible at better real estate lending LC with the top down and you can fit for adults in the back something doesn't pencil out.
      I consider my wife's convertible a weekend car and a cruiser also.
      With the top up I can fit as much luggage in the back of my wife's convertible as I can my Lexus RX 350. Not stacked obviously but enough luggage for three people. That car is smaller than the LC.

    The beeping driver's seat must be something region-specific. I have checked out a European LC500h and both seats move forward in the same way as the passenger seat in your tester, and without beeping. Also. The seats detect your legs and move slightly forward to prevent crushing anything in the rear seats.

    The beeps from the seat are so the driver can set their preference and when the driver slides it forward, they'll count the beeps so that way when sliding it back they can count back the beeps to their initial driving position so they won't have to reset position.

      Most of what makes the LC 500 what it is can't really be removed without ruining it. It's not the kind of car you can "tone down". Most Lexus vehicles are toned up Toyotas with better parts, insulation and luxury materials. With the LC, sure you have plenty of soft-touch materials, but pretty much everything else is performance-focused and scratch-made. That's where 85% of the price is coming from.
      Not to mention, the Supra needs to be a sports car. This is a GT car. Two different classes of vehicle. You really can't turn one into the other without massively reworking it, which, in itself, would drive prices up and make the Supra even more prohibitively expensive; something Toyota doesn't want.
      I agree. The Supra should not be built with BMW parts. I don't like that Toyota are compromising their legendary reliability by using what is essentially a rebadged BMW for a name as iconic as the Supra, but at the end of the day, I won't be driving it, and it's no skin off my nose if they disappoint the buyers and Toyota's executives. Hopefully their next attempt is better.

    • @valdius85
      @valdius85 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@RPGTKingpin It seems that next will be the Mazda`s straight-6. Toyota has some joint venture with them to develop the I6. That might be a very interesting engine. LC stands for Lexus Challenge, not Luxury Coupe. Other than that, good review. I own the 2018 V8 model. InfraRed with Toasted Caramel. It's a fantastic car and the reviewer is correct. It is under-priced. It should cost twice what it does. If you factor in Lexus reliability, maybe three times? I looked at at least 15-20 "supercars" for over two years and not one of them excited me. There was always at least one or two things that sucked and the reliability of Ferrari, Aston Martin, Lambo, Maserati, McLaren etc. is pathetic. The LC 500 is just the perfect car....except for the back seat. It really isn't meant for more than two people. Everything else on the car is awesome. Keep in mind that it is not, nor was it meant to be a race car or track car. It's simply one helluva nice car to drive. It has great handling. It has way more than enough power. It's comfortable and everything works great. The only thing I'm going to change when it's time are the front brake pads. They work great but they are so dusty and dirty. I'm doing research now on which ones to get!! Again, very good review.

    It’s like this car has a little identity crisis- not sure what it wants to be. It’s not competing against the likes of a M6, RS7, but also not competing against the 750, A8, or S Class.

    All these cars sometimes share components and platforms from their parent company but that doesn’t make them Toyotas, VWs, Tatar’s and unreliable BMWs.
