Roger: Thank you for another year of fascinating and instructive videos. Surely, the Olympus/OM Systems photographers appreciate your videos. All the best, PJI
Certainly an outstanding year of photography and wish to thank you for sharing them. All were superb though my favourites were the kestrel and the barn owl with the castle sunset coming in third. Have a safe & happy Christmas
Thanks for commenting, and glad you like the video. I was extreemly lucky this year. 2025 will have a lot to look up to . All the best for Christmas and the New Year.
Great video Roger and some lovely shots. I think I have to go for the Damselfly because that would be hard to recreate again I think. Love Turtle doves, here Oriental turtle doves are very common and have such beautiful plumage in flight which you illustrated beautifully in that shot you took 👍
Thanks for commenting Richard. I did originally have the Damsefly as my best shot, but decided in the end on the slow motion Turtle Doves. In the UK , Turtle Doves are quite rare. All the best for 2025.
Thanks for commenting Steve. I was pleased with how the year went. FIngers croosed to hope 2025 can be equally sucessful. All the best to you and family. (Congrats of being a grandad) All the best for 2025.
Roger, an absolutely beautiful set of images! Congratulations on such a good year. I'd be proud of all of those! I have not seen some of these landscape photos you took; they are lovely. Really enjoy seeing your videos.
Thats really nice of you to say that. I was pleased with the landscape shots. I did think about making a video on the Skye/Torridon trip but because I was in a group, its difficult to do an `to camera` clips. Glad you enjoyed the video.
Thank you for the new inspiration for 2025. I also shoot with the wonderful Olympus cameras, an OM-D E-M1 and an E-M1 MkIII, and a growing collection of M.Zukio lenses.
Thanks for the very kind comment. I did intitially have the Barn Owl in as third place, but in the end decided on the Kestrel. Glad you enjoyed it, and all the best for 2025
Lovely review of the year Roger, was that Livewire making an appearance? Never expected that on one of your videos! All the best for the festive period 🍻
Thanks Ken. It was Dirty DC, not Live Wire. I hope to photograph Live Wire sometime in the future. I am really enjoying group photograhy, and it a bit different to birds and landscapes. Thanks for the kind comment , and best wishes for 2025.
Thanks Phil. I did attempt to try other areas of photography this year. I have even done protest marches and shots done at a nightclub, but didnt include them because the video would have been too long. Maybe another video in the New Year. Once again thanks for the kind comment. All the best for 2025.
Thanks Phil. It has been a very productive year. I also have shots taken at protest rallies , as well as in a London nightclub, but the video would have been too long. All the best to you and family for Christmas and the New Year.
@@rogerhance5883 All the best Roger, Yes you have done a lot of photo shoots this year so well done and great for your talks to camera clubs etc, i wish you and your family a great Christmas and new year.
A brilliant heartwarming video Roger - you certainly posted a great range of superb shots really excellent work. Have a great christmas and keep the videos coming in 2025.
Fabulous selection of video and stills from the past year Roger. I do love slo-mo. The turtle doves are a real treat to see and the rain really is mesmerising, particularly when the rain drops bounce off the birds. The demoiselle shot is absolutely brilliant and for me just edges the top spot because of the difficulty to achieve all aspects pin sharp. Love that Embleton bay sunrise and the short eared owl looking straight at you. Thanks again for making these videos and sharing your knowledge, I wish you and your family a Merry Christmas 🎄 and all the best for 2025.
Cheers John. Your very kind comments are very much appreciated. I did have the Demoiselle as my top shot originally, but in the end decided on the Turle Doves. WEll spoted were the rain drop bouce of the bird. I love that bit. Best wishes to you for Christmas and for 2025
Fantastic images Roger. Hard to pick a favourite, though I loved the shots at Glencoe, not just because they were great shots but also becaus eyou found a different perspective to what people shoot there.
Thanks Bev. I was pleased with the Glen Coe shot. When we all got there, we all lined up to take the usual shot near the waterfall. It was O.K, but I have done it before, and I didnt think I would improve on my previous shot, so I wandered away fro the group and looked for a different composition. I though this one worked well. Thanks for thind comment, and all the best for 2025.
The OM1 and the OM1mkII will shoot at 120fps and 240fps. Its not 4K , its FHD. The only problem with the slow motion settings on the OM cameras is that they do not continually focus.
@rogerhance5883 thanks for confirming. Whilst looking for an answer I have found that people are shooting 5.7k 120hz with the OM-1 II using it's 120fps raw burts to make 3.75 second long clips.
Wonderful pics Roger, tfs
Thanks for the very kind comment. Its very much appreciated. Best wishes for 2025.

King Fisher shot at 9:28 is my favorite.
Thanks for commenting. To be honest, I originall had that shot in the first three. I did change my mind quite a few times ! All the best for 2025.
Brilliant pictures Roger. I'm inclined to agree with your choices. Although if there was a 4th place, one of the Barn owls would be nice.
Thanks for the very kind comment. I did intitially have the Barn Owl in as third place, but in the end decided on the Kestrel. Glad you enjoyed it, and all the best for 2025

How did you shoot that Kestrel at 120p on an O-M1 II, I thought it maxed out at 60fps?
The OM1 and the OM1mkII will shoot at 120fps and 240fps. Its not 4K , its FHD. The only problem with the slow motion settings on the OM cameras is that they do not continually focus.

Thanks for commenting Janice, and glad you agreed with me abut the Turtle Dove clip. All the best for 2025.
