Small Stream Fly Fishing I Fly Refusal

  • While fishing a small stream we had a fish refuse our nymph (:57) Just like a dry fly, if a fish refuses a fly it means something didn't look natural. Could be the drift or the fly. I changed my nymph after the first refusal and gave the run a few minutes to rest. Always a good idea on any body of water. Small stream fly fishing at its finest.
    Rod: Orvis H2 8' 4" 3wt
    Reel: Orvis Battenkill LA II
    Line: SA 4wt Long Belly
    Flies: Royal Stimi/ Higa's SOS
