In this episode, I speak with Carlos from Deculturation to
cover the topic of Chicanismo, Indigenismo, & the history of Mexican & Chicano history.
Glad I found you guys. Thank you for this content!
Chicano movement is dead. No one uses that term anymore. Now those same people say Latino another made up term that the French made up. Chicano is a just a made up word some people used to explain their confusion about their background. That confusion can be blamed on their parents and not anyone else. I'm Mexican American and never was a Chicano. I am not confused about my background. All my ancestors were a part of Mexico or the southwest including its history, language, customs, and traditions. There is no Chicano country, language, or traditions.
I feel the same way talking to maoists who hold that the Chicano nation or more ridiculously “Aztlan” must be come independent for their liberation. As a son of two Mexican immigrants to the U.S., I don’t particularly pine for Aztlan and have never met another person like me who does
True! It's all based on a lie! Also the word "Chicano" is Nahualt word for Mexica lol
What if there's a problem here of mistaking the superstructure for the base, which we know how outlasts the latter. No matter the similarities, changes in the base produce new solutions to revolutionary change. Thinking multinational proletarian revolution isn't viable on ANY historically stolen land in the so called Americas could lead to capitulation, no?
Okay. So mexican americans, that argue they have native blood, are like the Cherokee princess, and its becaus of the time where the spanish made mexicans help colonize the said land, that was the natives.. thaaaats what this video is saying. And ive just ben falling into mexico's naritive (partial eugenics)
It's pretendians wanting benefits and to steal land because they know their settlers having no business occupying this place.
You guys structured this talk just right. If you woulda said any of the stuff frome the middle, in the beginning.
I would have clicked off
2:45:36 yeah im there a little now but. I know im American. At least
51:25 im a little confused only because. Is it good or bad to identify native, when mexican.
The knowledge being cycled is circling " its more complicated than race, cause nationality"
And then i get hit with the whole country is using the Cherokee princess narrative.
Directly after saying that the spanish made a cast system for the mixxed indigenous... Im gonna just keep watching. But im confused about what the naritive is supposed to be.
I got my answer ten seconds later. Thank you
56:40 holy chit.
