I was expecting you to struggle drilling through the pin, but you made it look easy.
If you ever have to drill tool steel - try cobalt drill bits. They seem to go through anything 👍

You can get a winch cover. It will prolong the life of your winch and your winch rope. UV breaks down your rope very fast.
