Talked about this on one of your earlier vids but would love to see u talk about your favorite youtubers, not just who they are but why you watch them and the role that they play in your life as a beauty consumer, how their beauty philosophies differ from yours, the vibes that they get etc

Hannah coming in clutch with content I never knew I needed: good underwear recommendations AND sewing fun facts. But all jokes aside, I'll have to look into knickey underwear for much needed replacements and then keep Arq in the back of my mind for when I have a bigger budget!

Can I just say that I love the very indifferent way that you speak about size other than just information It is so wonderful and encouraging because you're like it's just a size you get the size you need to cover your body and then you move on are they comfortable this is the shape this is the length and I just love that

Loved this video!! I just made my first purchase from ARQ about 2 months ago. I'm plus sized (3X) and so finding an ethical and sustainable brand like them has been amazing. I first heard about them from TH-camr Alli Cherry! I own the same leopard print top from them that you're wearing here which is so exciting to see because you've basically become my style icon. I love that a brand like ARQ has made it possible for someone who's my size to wear some of the same clothes you do!

I’m 51 and after 2 kids, a hysterectomy and gaining 50+ lbs from menopause, I decided I’d try men’s boxer briefs instead. Best decision ever.
Also, I bought some period panties from Knix because as noted above, things are falling apart and that means sometimes after I use the bathroom then stand up, I have a tiny bit of urine that sneaks out. Just a few drops but over the course of the day, it’s problematic. I tried pads and hate them. But the period panties are amazing and the most comfortable underwear I’ve ever worn. They are expensive but so worth it, and the added benefit of less waste from using pads for periods or minor bladder issues. I love them so much, I bought some for my girls and my mother to try too. Highly recommend if anyone is curious about trying them
Next time I’m in market for undies, I’ll keep these companies in mind.

I find it really important how indent-y a garment is, but its a problem when many brands only has models with no flesh to indent, so you cannot see how tight parts of the garment is compared to the rest of the garment. I appreciate that you talk about details like that. Love when you talk about clothing!

I'm in the UK and the undies solution is always Marks and Spencer/M&S. They're fairly ethical for a mass market brand, good value and can't be beaten for comfort. Everyone buys their undies there. It looks like you can buy them online in the US now so maybe worth a shot in the future.

I love Somas vanishing edge panties! I particularly love the tummy control vanishing edge for how they look under clothes; truly seamless, gives a smooth look without feeling uncomfortable like Spanx and you forget you're wearing them. There's a grippy lightweight plastic on the inside edge that grips to your butt, that doesn't budge.

Yes! I just rediscovered Soma and love both the ones with the higher tummy control and some of the more traditional bikinis that have the sticky stuff. My butt always eats my underwear and they're the first ones I've had in forever that are comfortable and stay in place!

Just reordered from Proclaim and TomboyX! If ever need more undies, I might try some of these recommendations. And when you said the Skims were a "boy short with loosely hemmed edges" and you started getting to the cons of the product, I immediately knew that they'd be riding up. (fellow former sewn products professional here). I have actually been avoiding all boy shorts for several years now, because of their tendency to ride up. It's a delicate balance between "enough fabric to stay in place", and "too much fabric to stay in place". We need a study on this or something 🤣

I feel so seen by this video! Also having a long torso and decently sized derrière, the search for a good granny panty never ends. I’ve found the best compromise with Pact high rise hipsters. While they occasionally ride up, they mostly stay in place, are relatively seamless, and a good price for organic cotton. I consider them a better alternative to cheap fast fashion undies. Probably much lighter weight than something like Arq though. The boy shorts are definitely low rise but don’t ride up, and while the leg opening has a thick seam, I keep them for lower rise pants. And I live in Pact’s pocket leggings. Love your thoughtful and thorough content, I’ve been curious about Arq for awhile and might have to take the plunge! Also curious if you’ve considered Pansy undies, I love their bras and while I haven’t tried their undies, they look like they might fit what you’re looking for.

I would like to see you review Dita Von Teese's line. She have a full brief and a high cut brief. Along the line of Jockey would be Bali. I like their brand. Then also old, old, olde (old with an e) school lines like Hanes or Fruit of the Loom. They definitely make full coverage. LOL

I feel similarly passionately about finding quality, comfortable full coverage underwear. I also have a very long torso. During the Nordstrom sale I bought a pair of Chantelle high rise briefs and OMG. THEY’RE AMAZING. They are “one size” but they have xs-xl and plus size “one size” options. I was deeply dubious about them because of the one size claim, but they fit beautifully and are so comfortable and work really well for my long torso-ed, bottom heavy body. For context, I am a medium/8/29 in almost all pants. After loving the pair from the sale I bought a five pack :)

I'm here for all the underwear content! As someone slightly bigger in size and without the torso elongation the Knickey mid-rise styles are my favorite (and the thong) after you recommend them last year. I like their styles more than the parade pairs I've tried. Girlfriend Collective makes great sustainable underwear, but I'm not sure if their high rise brief would be high enough for you.

  • @katherineenglish1932

I've heard good things about MadeTrade, specifically their Orly Bamboo ones and the Blue Bloem. I wonder if you'd like or hate the huha high rise briefs, they seem similar to the skims with the potential bunching but not exactly the same. Have you tried organicbasics before? They have some listed as 'superhighrise'. Pact's highrise hipsters seem similar to Arq but they wouldn't be as tall- maybe an alternative option for the pants that aren't as high wasted. I'd be curious about looking into the ethics of companies/sustainability in both the materials/processes but also with the longevity of the garments. I'm not too handy with sewing- would there be any option to alter the pairs to fit better? Or is it not worth the trouble?

I wonder if they would be the same on me. I'm only 5 feet.... but 165 lbs.... so low rise anything is NO GO. But high rise is too high since like you I have short waist and practically no torso

I have the Jockey panties in the high cut brief, and they fit so much better than their regular cut brief, plus the high cut does not ride up. The modal fabric is cool, comfortable and has many color options.

You should try Thunderpants! They have the tighter leg of the Jockey, but are sturdy like Arq. They do not ride up at all.

For all the Canadian ladies who want Arq undies, you can buy them in Canada at a shop called BEATEN it's online and saves on customs and duties. Thats where i bought mine and i was able to get all the styles that have been out of stock on ARQ for weeks now. They are authentic ARQ garments, i believe they work with them to make them more available to us Canadians. Plus BEATEN have a pick up option. Cheers

I bought Knickey for myself and my daughter based on your previous review, and they have been very comfortable, both of us are happy with them. I am keen to try out the ARQ, it's difficult because we would only be able to order online and we don't live in the states, so i know i won't be returning them if they aren't any good. But I will try them out eventually, good to have the sizing information, thank you!

I am in love with the Ruched Ruffle Shorties from Free People. They come in a lot of cute colors. I wear them as underwear. The only problem is they don’t always look smooth, so they are better under oversized clothes (of which Free People has a lot of cute ones, too)

I am a fan of boyshorts underwear but I am still searching for a brand that is comfortable. The brands that I have bought lately always ride up in the rear and I feel strangled. Puma, Calvin Klein & Tommy Hilfiger used to be comfortable but now are sized for a toddler with no coverage in the back.

I find longer length boy shorts (bike shorts) to be really comfortable. I had to switch from regular briefs because my skin got very sensitized where the elastic touched my stomach & at the left leg opening. It became almost an open wound that wouldn't heal & required steroidal intervention. The boy shorts come up higher & don't cut anywhere. They also cut down on inner thigh chafe under a dress.

WOW WOW WOW someone else who loves and hates the exact same things in underwear as me and has also thought about it at least as much as I have?? AMAZING.
I know this is an older video, but in case you're still looking for more things to try: my current very, very favorite are Oddobody high-waisted (the description is "mid rise" but I'm also pretty long waisted and they come up exactly to my belly button). You can definitely size down if you don't want them baggy/loose, but the fabric is so incredibly lightweight that they don't really make lumps.
A good less expensive option is Andie (the swimsuit brand) -- I actually currently have 3 (!) different high waisted, full-coverage options from them that just arrived and I can't wait to try.

Love this review! I'm in the same boat: long torso, bigger hips/butt, and so much "full coverage" underwear is just...not. I recently bought a few pairs of Arq underwear and I *love* them, but I also have to wear some lower-profile underwear under tighter-fitting pants.

I know I'm late to the party, but I just had this come up in recommendations. My favorite underwear and bralettes at the moment is MeUndies. They're modal, so maybe don't check your fabric preference, but they definitely have full coverage, high-waisted undies that have served me really well. I'm a big fan of the fun prints, and I've found that they last fairly well (although I baby them a little, cold wash, hang dry, wash in a bag).

I’ve tried tomboyx undies, and their period line is full coverage, thick, comfortable, and at least for moderate to light flow is fantastic! It is life changing not to be dramatic.
Edit: it’s medium coverage? Seeing the first underwear review I’d say medium coverage?

  • @thedylangirl

Soma Vanishing 360 (not Vanishing Edge which make me itch from the silicone) are my favorite. They don’t even show in my Lulus. No riding up. High waisted. I get the Retro Thong and the Modern Brief in medium. :)

Very helpful, thankyou!!! I HATE underwear that rides up or stretches out by the end of the day and have been gradually moving to full coverage. Thank you, thank you, thank you SO much for the size references! This is SO incredibly helpful. I'm slightly smaller in inches but also have a longer torso and a longer inseam, so I find I have many of the same issues you talk about with bottom fits! (Depending on the company I'm anywhere from a 2 to a 6, floating between small and medium)
