I think that the gambling aspect of this game is what has made everyone so ratty. People are obsessed with winning for rewards rather than playing their ideal style of football regardless of results. That’s why you’ll see mechanic abuse.

The gameplay has gotten has gotten more and more defensive since fifa 18. I feel like that was the last playable fifa in my opinion. Each year it's more and more ai defending drop back counter. No type of attacking fluidity since the ai marks every player or one bad touch from a tackle from behind by the AI. This fifa feels the most glitched to me as well. The amount of bicycle kicks and rainbow flicks to overhead kicks from outside the box going in is disgraceful 😂

I didnt play fifa 18 but I remember fifa 17 and there wasn't really a meta at all you just played how you wanted there was actual skill in the game. I came back to fifa 19 and had to play against varane at rb and el tornado crosses to tots Havertz and toty Ronaldo. There's always been a meta to abuse since that fifa that just ruins any game cuz no matter how good you are if someone can perfectly time first time over the top through balls to mbappe your losing 95 percent of the time.

I played so well yesterday I moved the ball around, created chances and I still lost to 2-0 from counter attacks goal. If I don’t play football I don’t find joy in the game too often I come across corner kick bicycle kick goals and rainbow flick merchants and it’s irritating cuz im just trying to play fluid passing football.

I watched this video over three days and this guy has the most passion of any TH-camr ever, it’s amazing how Inception can rant for almost two hours and you still feel it’s better than most Hollywood movies cause you share the same emotions while playing this game.

I started playing FIFA last year, but I have over 1000 hours in both 22 and 23, and I already want to end myself every time I play fut champs. If you have been doing this for over 10 years, that can't be good for your mental health. However, I have huge respect for you because you are still making great content.
Its been 8 months since i’ve stopped playing FUT and i just casually saw this vid on my feed and laughed because after so long they made no improvement to the game lmao
since i stepped back from fifa to find a rewarding challenge and joy and fun in games again and turned to the soulslike and roguelike genre my overall gaming experience is so much better. but had to leave a comment because from time to time i like to see what´s going on. appreciate your passion even more if it´s all just "work" and you wouldn´t play it in your free time. still helping out others and testing and reviewing. hats off to you sir. hope you´re fine and thanks for all the help back in the days.

THE most annoying shit ever is when pass the ball to your striker, and u see the gk is rushing, im pressing shoot right before the gk is coming, my strikers takes 2-3 touches and looses the ball.

Bro you just touched the essencial point, unconsistent gameplay! Theres no one that can LEARN this game because of this, therefore theres almost no skill gap. This is most due to everything that is dynamic in this game you can never expedt anything from any player, attacking or defending because they will always react in so many ways possible. Impossible to have fun competing on this game. Watch the pros playing, most boring gameplay ever. TOO SLOW, TOO UNCONSISTENT, TOO SCRIPTED!!!
Everyone who recorda their own gameplay knows that this game almost everytime either makes it more easy or more difficult for you to play!! Players trying to run, and they just cant, player switching to a furthest player, green times going to the post or not even on target even with perfect execution.
Miss the times where FIFA was skill based, where you would win or lose a match based on your performance! Theres not a single mechanic well made and consistent trough 90 mins of the game

Cannot disagree with u in anything related with the state of the game, i fully agree, BUT, i am going to comment on the squad battles. Yes, i am one of those weirdos that play squad battles regularly because i am nearing 40s, like playing fifa every now and then, and i cannot cope with the stuff u mention on this video nor the actual messages, celebrations, idiotic behaviour on games and so on that u find when playing online this game. Also, regarding the inconsistent gameplay i will also say they replicate the pressure tactics and slow gameplay on legendary and ultimate modes, i suggest you try out those ones at least a couple of times, it might serve as proof that inconsistent gameplay is actually embedded in the game logic. I am happy that you spoke out like this about the game anyway, keep it up!

As someone who has been playing the game since FIFA 98 I can 100% understand and agree with your opinion. I wish that this video reaches some dev of EA and they listen to the criticism and draw their conclusions from it. It can't be that year after year the game is getting worse and worse. The beginning of FIFA 23 was better than the years before. And what has become of it? An absolute crappy game. Thank you for saying what many of us think. You are a true legend!
i bought the game at black friday with 35% discount. Just enough to let them know i'm fed up with this and just fast enough in the game to get by with all the early acces players that i was in other fifa's too. Didnt bought points this fifa. That's the only way EA is going to do something about it. they are in for the money. So don't pay them.

the step over acceleration mechanic merchants who do it when they have all the space in the world are the ones who drive me the most insane. They are programmed like robots to always use this mechanic, usually before instantly turning backwards and switching it to the left/right back for no purpose at all

I have to agree 100% with this. Playing Fifa for more than 10 years and every year I am more and more disappointed and this year, I am not joking, I had to delete the game for 6 months since I started taking tranquilizers after a few games. It is insulting my intelligence.

@InceptionFC thank you for this, nothing may come from this, but I am glad to hear I am not the only one feeling this way while playing this game. What I will say, when one casually plays FIFA on kickoff with a group of friends it is some of the most fun you can have, but I am likely not going to be putting 100's of hours into a Ultimate Team in the future again.

The hold RT/R2 sprint merchants are the ones that infuriate me the most, there's literally no skill involved it's just a crap mechanic that renders my AI defenders helpless, and when I try to manually defend it, the reaction is so slow that the defenders struggle to keep up. Then I try and do build up play with well thought out passes, only for a park the bus defense to stop it because it's near impossible to score with build up play, and once they intercept the ball it's back to the RT/R2 sprint counter attack. Which then makes me have to play the same ratty way to stay in games, which is not how I want to play.
I manually defend bro, because my AI defenders just stand there and watch shots being taken
None of these gameplay issues will be fixed because it's the same engine with the same servers and the same incompetence in charge of making the game.

Regarding the settings getting reset: although that shit still pisses me off, i found something that works for me aside from the "save profile" thing. What i do is always have my controller connect to the PS5 via usb cable. It is really annoying to have, but since I started doing this a few months ago it never reset again. I discovered this on accident.

I always play 1 match of squad battles when i start up FIFA. Even offline i promise you can tell when the gameplay is crap. Soon as it's not at least tolerable, i put away the game for that day. It's sad to admit that because I've had so much fun with FIFA over the years and now it usually stresses me more than it gives me fun.
I miss when getting a 5 star skiller on FIFA was a wow moment. Nani, Rafael sobis, elkeson etc.... Getting a four star skiller also felt good. Now there's no value in it, it's just expected. Hate this.

Lmao the frustrations shown here is so relatable. I ended up losing today 4-3 after being up 3-1. Conceded a goal in stoppage time and lost even when I was playing 1000x better. Didn't make any sense to me.
Just played against the same opponent in Fut Champs 4 games in a row…I won 2 of them 3-0 rage quits, and he beat me 3-0 twice rage quits 🤣 One game my gameplay was so fast and responsive, the next game I’m playing in mud. It’s so obvious by EA. It’s not just the servers 💯

Great video, gotta love the passion to improve this game because we all want a better experience. I think a step up would be to make a structured video with lots of gameplay clips to exemplify every single point, but I understand how that would be very high effort. I would love for more high profile fifa youtubers to take an approach like that instead of a rant though. Not that the rant format is bad, its still highly entertaining, but I feel like the format I mentioned would be more useful and undeniable to incite improvements in the game to the developers

Timed finishing for normal shots is for people with no skill. The rest what Inception said, is true. But I prefer to manual goalkeep against the R trigger merchants that walk to the back line and pass back to tap in.

I am from Romania, we have very good internet speed, 1Gbps for ~ 8$, but we do not have EA Fifa servers in our country. A good gameplay is only after 22pm, when my players are instantly responding when i press on the controller. The rest of the time it does feel laggy at passing, shooting, defending.

The only thing I’ll complain about pc is the optimization it’s almost like it has potential to have the most consistent gameplay but like it randomly just crashes or frame drops when your pc is very capable of running the game
