It's insane to realise probably like 90% of players play this game only because of addiction to packs. The way EA has chosen to put in first place social engineering techniques to make people addicted and milk as much money as possible while putting gameplay on last place on the list is disgusting.
Honestly; so many spend hundreds on packs to get the best players, but when they get them, there's no incentive to play the actual game
It's been like that for years. People don't play FIFA for the sport, and the majority that do don't really KNOW OR LOVE FOOTBALL.

Fifa 23 finishing was so consistent that i used to call goals before even scoring, whenever it was a 1v1 with the goalkeeper. Did it with my eyes closed, now i can't even do it with my eyes open.

What I can’t wrap my head around, is that on the earlier FIFA’s ps3/Xbox 360 the gameplay online was fine and consistent it would be only laggy if you would match up with somebody really far away. But nowadays you are lucky if you have normal responsive gameplay.
What can’t you wrap? It’s a literal casino, it’s meant to be laggy and unresponsive and bullshit. This isn’t a real game, it’s a kids casino! By design. Rigged, bullshit, circus, packs, fifa points…
I have a feeling that 2 relatively new features: running styles and playstyles were in the game for years and now they are just visible for us.

Totally agree with right stock switching issue. Especially during corners I can pick anyone except the defender I want. In game I press the stick four or five times sometimes to get the player I want. When you are defending it's game over.
When it switches from ur CB to your CAM instead of your CM over and over and over again 😢
Try ball relative player switching I don’t personally use it but I’ve heard it makes switching more consistent when defending.

this is what make a difference with a pro player, as long you are the best switching on picking the correct player on the need it time, the rest comes easy.
The right stick switching on fifa 23 is so much faster and responsive

What I hate most is that tackle animations are executed faster than passing animations. Every now and then I lose the ball even though I pass as soon as an opponent is nearby, but the defenders have infinite range with their auto tackles

Agree mate completely, Zidane one of the best players of all time with furst touch + you want him to do a simple first time pass, but no the defender touched his left shoulder with there elbow causing your pad to vibrate & Zidane wobble all over the place & lose the ball it's stupid.

The way you feel about creating content in EA FC is basically my feeling whenever I start any match. I am currently quite often just leaving the games no matter what score there is when I start seeing what is happening in the gameplay and quite frankly just don't want to deal with the BS anymore. There is no "fighting" the better opponent, there are 2 types of matches - the one you will absolutely win, and the ones you will inevitably lose. No fun in either.
I'd play a higher line on defense more often but the offside AI for defenders is so atrocious. There is *always* some random defender *on the other side of the field* with incredible stats doing his own thing instead of standing on a line and letting the attack run offside. I swear 70% of the goals I concede come down to this issue.

Most of the time, I feel like I'm playing against the game more than against someone else...very exhausting.
Its because the competitive community pressures EA to cater toward them, madden has the same problem. EA thinks having a larger competitive scene is what will grow the game which is why we’re stick in an endless loop.
I don't really watch FUT creators but this was in my recommended. I thought I was just speaking to a wall when it comes to my complaints about the game, but seeing this video and comments...I'm not alone. I feel like this game doesn't like defense and its too easy to score...mostly bc of what you've said. Even the corner take. I had a game that ended in a 5-5 draw, 3 of his goals was Haaland automatic from the corner. Defense just couldn't respond to it and my 90 keeper just reacts to it like he's 5'5 and new to sports.
Out of curiosity I looked up best formations, every single formation from 3 channels with the most views...has direct passing in every single tactic for each formation.
This game is a slot machine, every match is a gamble.
It might take me a week but I'm gonna watch this whole video man. Great rant. Fuck EA.

Couldn't agree more with this rant. I played 6 games of fut champions today and I almost lost my mind. I manually defend and don't park the bus. Got scored 5 identical goals in one game. I knew what he'd do and still could not stop it. The only thing worse than the game play is the toxic players that abuse all the broken mechanics and then act like Rats. I wish there was a better game for this beautiful sport.

EA & 2k are scamming us every year. Nba players want EA to do a NBA game, and FC players want 2k to make a football game, without realising how the 2 companies are doing these games only for profit... we get an unfinished games, pay to play mechanics, etc

The game is addicting. The money isnt going into improving the gameplay, its going into R&D to find new ways to manipulate psychology to keep people addicted. They are mirroring programs you can find in casinos. Give it a few more years and there will either be age restrictions for ultimate team or there are going to be laws drafted to regulate what's allowed in a game that allows minors to play. This will go for all games that have leaned so heavily into microtransactions, and the transactions aren't even "micro" anymore. I saw a pack for $40 yesterday. It's the wild west right now, and EA is lobbying to keep it that way. The laws will catch up, but I think some legendary games were destroyed while we wait.
I have one honest question pls ... IN real football , players make only few or no skill moves in the entire game .. is my statement right ?
If it is , then why does EA's football so heavily relies on skill moves... I am a guy whose first fifa was fifa 98 RTWC and SO I am used to p;laying with keyboard and to this date still do.. but I have to switch to a controller just to not get pummeled in this game..

The only people who compain about fifa are ultimate team players !! If the stuck to career mode and made it the main focus. OG players of fifa wouldnt complain. The fact they sold out career mode and now the people playing this game are ultimate team players who probably didnt even play football or watch it in real life.
About player switching. Sometimes its just pure handicap, if you record you can replay and see it. Even if you have the “next player indicator ON” it will switch to another player that just cant reach the ball. Its intencional sometimes and i can prove it with videos of mine. Sometimes you press once and they switch 2 times in a split of a second so the opponent gets a clear chance

The one thing I hate the most in this game is when u are leading 4-0 in the 76 minutes and they start pressing u and ur players start acting and moving 1:20:39 slow, and u end up playing 4-4 is crazy. You can be better than ur opponent but because of pressing they can be better than u in minutes.

I don't know if anyone else is experiencing this since the patch but my players are turning like they only have 40 agility, my players aren't locking onto the ball, I am leaking goals left, right and centre and the gameplay is just overall weird.

Bro I been saying this for damn near a decade, if they would’ve fine tuned Fifa 15 and added some extra logical animations, that’s the best Fifa Game to date. Ik it has its own bs but it feels so much more real than this robotic abusing bs genuinely a fun game to play.

Completely agree and I’m the same way. I force myself not to play like a robot and force myself through the middle and to make different plays each time, still get around 14 wins each weekend without playing like chatGPT. But it is really tiring just facing the same damn robot players almost every single game because I know some are like us and don’t conform to this robotic cutback simulator. Some of us actually want to play proper football😅 great video once again.

When they advertised playstyles, i knew the game is going in the wrong direction. It's more like using a card having superpowers than having the actual skill in the game. I don't understand the concept of making the game more and more RNG. They introduced playstyles, and they started nerfing one by one. What's the point of adding them in the first place.
Thanks for validating my choice to delete this after 2 months. As a casual, first year trying to play something other then MUT, I was so frustrated and disgusted I do something I rarely do and deleted it and immediately started having fun again playing different games

I stopped playing FIFA a good few years back when i just became too frustrated with the game. Im 31 and had played fifa games since like 2000...
In the beginning ultimate team was VERY fun, but as time went on, it just became too frustrating to play. There are WAY too many things that are out of your control in fifa games that it makes them infuriating to play even just online.

I play 3-4-1-2, and I switched to that formation to try and counter the current meta buts it’s impossible attacking down the middle. The moment you try attacking the middle, 4 players are bomb rushing you or AI is covering every passing lane.
I have been playing fifa from past 20 years and I feel the same pain of my childhood game being turned into a poker machine.
It’s turned the Ultimate Team mode into a complete machine learning game where results are no longer a fair for all outcome. The game decides your gameplay, your packs, your rewards and almost everything in a way that you spend more and more time playing it, be it on the console playing, spending time on trading or SBC.
For example, in your final Rivals promotion game, your players will turn into bronze so that you spend hours getting a promotion.
The game knows you spend time in trading and sbc so it will kill your packs. Out of my last 20 Ultimate packs, 19 have been restricted to 84 max. It’s impossible without machine learning game manipulation.
The gameplay is so manipulated that it has killed my passion for the game I have loved for past 20 years 😢

Playstyles have always been in the game “traits & specialities” and players having their own animations etc. playstyles just a cop out as a new feature to sell packs. If you deep it does someone with rapid + actually run faster than someone without? I don’t think so. Gold VVD outpaces every player on the game. He has ruined this fifa for me because you physically can’t use any other cb this year

I remember when I used to be able to have an 85 rated squad and still have a fighting chance against 89+s with icons because I was actually good at the game. The dopamine I would get for destroying a dude who bought their team while I spent no money was unreal. Now if I have a 88 rated squad, I would get my cheeks clapped EVERY FUCKING TIME because everyone has mbappe except for me and EA gives players with higher rated teams reflections and makes my 98 pace players act like they’re playing in mud. Fifa is literally the ex girlfriend that you had good times with but you keep coming back even though you know they’re only trouble because you had those good memories with them.
I don't get stomped, but I hear you. For me its like everybody has Haaland and the game doesn't allow him to be stopped. I have a lot of 1 goal wins or draws bc if Haaland gets the ball its a goal.
