    I went to Allatoona and loaded up on fish yesterday. Crappie Catfish one big hybrid stripe bass Largemouth bass. Allatoona Lake is in Northwest Georgia. Warm n windy yesterday. Atleast winds werent blowing your stuff away like me yesterday. Looked interesting on the bobby garland.

    • @ClearWaterCrappie
      @ClearWaterCrappie  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Chad Crawford how is allatoona for crappie? I have a buddy that lives over there!

    • @chadcrawford1502
      @chadcrawford1502 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Clear Water Crappie I grew up in that area of Georgia.Lake Allatoona has little to no structure just some stumps if your lucky. Lake allatoona has annual 20 to 25 ft water fluctuations winter level is like 820 and summer pool is 840 Allatoona is very iffy. When I loaded up on fish I was fishing an area inaccessible to a boat at this time it was all Bone Dry except for allatoona creek I was fishing near acworth area. In the summer this area is accessible by boat. I mainly bank fish. I can tell you Lake allatoona is IFFY. It’s a hard lake to fish being up n down all the time.

      Clear Water Crappie best crappie time allatoona is late March to mid April depending on temperatures with the weather but there is decent crappie. When I was in a boat I would go up in stamp creek and slow troll minnows on a cork like 5 ft deep in spring me years ago with family would drift with crappie poles baited up on minnows and would catch big crappie slow.

    When you minnow fish, do you use a jig or a light wire hook. If your presentation varies between the two, how do you decide which to use. Thanks for the great videos and the excellent instruction.

    • @ClearWaterCrappie
      @ClearWaterCrappie  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Ronnie Hall When i use a minnow it’s a light wire hook. I will use a jig head under a float during the spawn with a minnow on it to make it “swim” better. Other than that though it’s just a light wire hook to let the minnow swim freely. Thank you for watching!

    Hi first time watching your video, lots of information. I do nothing but bank fishing cuz I dont have a boat. It's very hard for me to find crappie. I live in charleston south Carolina . Any Suggestions for bank fishing.

    • @ClearWaterCrappie
      @ClearWaterCrappie  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Marlene Hall I wish I lived in Charleston! If you are fishing for crappie and fishing from the bank I would somehow get some brush out in the water where you fish from. Since you cant go to them I would somehow get some brush in front of where you bank fish from. Other than spring it will be tuff to catch them on the banks!

    Enjoyed video. Great channel! I liked the question already asked: how do you decide which technique to use on a given day? Seems difficult not to predetermine which technique to use at least as it relates to taking some longer rods if you are going to troll, but of course the longer rods can get in the way if not trolling. My vote for next video is trolling - either long lining or spider rigging.

    • @ClearWaterCrappie
      @ClearWaterCrappie  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Wesley Hughes looks like I’m going to be on Lake Russell next weekend spider rigging. And just being on the water 3 times a week and looking and searching for them you can eventually feel out what would be your best option. The dock shooting is slowing down with prespawn setting up so it’s time to longline and spider rig! I gave my best answer on the previous question like that go check it out and see if it helps! Thank you for watching!

      Really like your videos, so do my friends. Looks like your on the way to being one of those awesome TH-cam channels with tons likes and subscribers. Do you ever place brushpiles? If so maybe a video on good types of locations to look for them or to place them. I’ve been placing some over the past year trying to learn what types of areas hold good fish. Thanks for the video.

    How do you know when to tight line vs shooting docks vs long lining?

    • @ClearWaterCrappie
      @ClearWaterCrappie  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Steven lebeau it’s all about what time of the year it is and water temperature. Honestly you can catch crappie on docks I would say 9 or 10 months of the year. You can catch them right now longlining and dock shooting and spider rigging (tightlining). Come
      May and June longlining just won’t work because of how deep they will be or they will be related to brush then. If they are on brush you can still spider rig for them. I love artificial so I have one rod in my hand most of the year. It’s all about what you are comfortable with and what time of the year it is. Thank you for watching!
