- Unbelievable as it might seem to a horse lover like yourself, every day this winter will bring more cases of abuse, neglect or downright cruelty to horses like Polly. We HAVE to be ready to respond to them. And with your help, we can be.

This is my dream job! Helping horses in need.
The title: Sweep, The Little Shetland Pony. You should write up Polly's and Sweep's story in a children's book. It would educate children about horses and their needs; what to do if they see a horse in need and it would raise funds for WHW.
I want to be a volunteer at a horse rescue centre, the work they do is just amazing

So often, on these comment threads, some say they want to adopt many horses, never realizing that they might well end up like the hoarders these animals are rescued from. To volunteer, instead, to give up your own free time to help a good cause is the decision of an intelligent, rational, caring person.
And, those who can't volunteer can donate. I sometimes wonder just how many of the "I love horses." people, here, leave this page and go on to donate some amount, however small, to WHW or some other group?
If "keyboard warriors" are all over YT...so are "keyboard angels".

What a beautiful horse she's become!!! I'm so glad she's doing well. It's always good to have another horse be a "therapist" to another horse. It works wonders when they have one of their own kind to be with. God bless these people for all they do.

Awwww it is so sweet when a horse has a friend they can do anything and they don't have to be alone if you see a horse In need stop what ever you are doing and go help that horse cuz you might just be able to save a horse's life and that can lead go incredible thing and I would love to help horse in need and a really big thx to sweep because sweep just know what the Polly needed a friend and every one needs a friend to help them when things are not going right
That little Sweep is just a love bug...and a great therapist.
This is simular to my horses story! I rescued her from an abusive home, the old owners tied her up by the hooves and left her.

The next steps will be to train Polly and see what she do. After that, find her a loving home.
I have a horse just like Sweep(i think thats what her name was). Her name is Snowflake, she has a white coat, shes a Shetland pony, shes the same size as sweep, and i got her from an adoption center. she was about to be put down, but i got her before she was put down. Shes still alive today after 10(maybe longer) years and she is happy with her cow friends. I love her so much. I'd be lost without her. : )

Horses ARE herd...The most important thing to them is the social setting of the herd and it only takes two (or more).
My crew here are completely dependent on each other. They are a family and they know it.

I love this story
I take on young horses, and have had a few human shy horses over the years... And my mini shetland, ali, does the exact same as your sweep... Without her I would not be able to get near some of these horses... Shetlands are over looked for what they are unable to do, when what they can do is worth so much more... My ali was abandoned at 5months old to suffer in the flood plains where her mother had died due to lack of food... its a full circle... Wishing the best for Polly's future!

people that dont care for there responabilities dhould be given community service in education within the horse charity to put right what they are doing wrong, I hate these people that do this but hateing them is not going to stop them, put there crime right in there face.
