Just stumbled on your channel and was gobsmacked to learn that Farmfoods have St Louis style ribs! I've so struggled to get decent ribs, even on-line they've been expensive and have often turned up cut in half! Went out yesterday and bought a rack which I'll save until the weekend, amazed at the quality. I liked the way you cooked them using everything I can get locally...I also use that Big K charcoal on my Weber! Brilliant, many thanks. Have like and subscribed. Dave
@DaveandGinny972 thanks for watching 👀 🙏 😀 yeah they are definitely a bargain at that price. Tbf, they were about £7 a rack about 3 years ago from farm foods, but like everything else, they have gone up! I do get sent a lot over from friends in the USA but I do try and use local as much as possible. Let me know how you get on with them 😍
these ribs are the best by far. done so many now on my weber Smokey mountain and the results never disappoint. i always dig around for the 1.6 - 1,7kg weight ones. and ive always got two in the freezer ready to go. just a shame they have gone up to £12.99 now. awesome ribs yours by the way ;). hard to find many decent UK smokers/grillers to subscribe too but ive watched a couple of yours today and have subbed
@eukcoopdogg293 they are definitely still good at £12.99 and thanks for the kind words 😊 😀 I have been slacking on video's lately but will be uploading lot's more moving forward 👍 😀
Been using these ribs for a while and they are great!. They are the St Louis cut and have far more meat on than baby back ribs that most U.K. supermarkets and butchers sell.
Saw in one of the comment replies you're looking at a budget series soon. I finally have a garden I can put a BBQ in, but I don't hugely know where to start - would love to hear your beginner tips and tricks!
@tobiasalexander4491 all depends on what bbq you have etc etc but I would definitely start with a beer can chicken 🐔 or grilled chicken wing's etc 😋 nothing beats being outside grilling
Superb video big man, great to see a UK based channel using meats that anyone can pick up! Subscribed! Did you buy these frozen? Don't recall Farmfoods doing fresh meats!
These ribs are off the chart from Farm Foods... Best ribs you can buy from a supermarket by a long way... Your ribs turned out fantastic btw... Great cook...
treat yourself to some quality pork sometime. these animals never see the light of day , are fed poorly and gassed to death. if you're used to this low quality, then im sure you'd think its ''off the chart''.
@danielwilson1105 I Ave done many times. Iberico is a must but unfortunately I can't afford to eat like that all the time. Thanks for taking the time to comment as every comment helps the channel grow 😀
Subbed as a fellow English bbq savant. 👍🏻 Morrisons ribs used to be a bargain at £5/kg dropped to £3.50/kg on promotion. Last lot we got were £8.50 I think per kg and were absolutely gross, full of weird gristle tubes like hollow pasta. Completely put me off and they went in the bin, after a 4 hour kamado cook. What a tragedy.
@@BrothersoftheGrillMidlands mate. It was totally gross, I’ve got photos lol. I very nearly bought the Weber Summit about 4 years ago but chickened out as it was such a big wedge for an outdoor cooker. I’m still using a Char Griller Akorn which to be fair has been amazing. Not the Weber standard of fit and finish, and less real estate than the mighty Summit. It is however a great kamado with some tweaks. I made a metal heat shield rack out of mild steel bar stock, and can cover it with an old rusty cast iron pan (with the handle cut off). It works great and I’m doing low & slow all year round, roasting chickens, ribs (obviously) and some other stuff besides. I have a Weber GBS Master Touch 57cm for all the direct grills. Also use that for shorter term indirect cooks using just one charcoal basket and offsetting it. Perfect combo! If I could afford a Summit again (I’m ridiculously broke now) would I? Yes in a heart beat! It’s everything that makes the Weber kettles so brilliant, combined with the awesome efficiency and control of a kamado. Best wishes brother, I hope your channel flourishes and will keep watching! 👀 I’m going to have a bash at these Farm Foods ribs this weekend, God willing. P.s. I usually smoke with rub for 2 hours, spritz a little as she goes, and then foil wrap with a combo of BBQ sauce and the cheap nasty cider from the supermarket as my steam source. It’s probably even cheaper than apple juice lol. 😂 Best ribs I ever cooked were when in the last stages a neighbour who was having a garden party called me over to chat and I ended up forgetting the ribs, a few hours over cooked all their guests I served them to said they were the best they’d ever tasted. And yes, they were falling off the bone, drawn back about an inch each end. Stay Smokey! 🫡
Tasty. Does it matter if shinny shine pointing in or out ? I was told during cooking lessons (many years ago) shinny side in keeps heat longer .if pointed out is a slower cook .what's your thoughts ?
I don't have a gas bbq but if you stick to the same temperature you should be fine. Let me know how you get on. If you get stuck give me a shout on Facebook messenger and I will be happy to help 😊
Yeah just keep the ribs as far from the heat as possible. Maybe half the coals and go either side with the ribs in the middle. I have done that before.
Managed to get two racks, can't wait to try your method buddy. The ribs from Tesco are mush and there's never enough meat on the ones from the Chinese 😂 . All I need now is a barbecue 😂
@derekmillen42 I would go with a good old weber kettle and then see how you get on. If you then get the bug you can work up from there. Weber kettles are always on FB market place 😉

Actually bought these after watching Wilson’s bbq, never knew farm foods did these. Thought they were a decent buy but £12.99 now. Coming to this late. Does anyone know if Farm Foods still sell these ribs? We've just been to a BBQ festival and the consensus there is you shouldn't be able to pick up the rack without it falling apart and you absolutely shouldn't be using a knife to cut the ribs. Simply pull them apart by hand.
