I agree to keep the window and just put glass on the inner panes. Look forward to seeing what you decide to do with the ceiling. i'd be tempted to pull it down and check what's under/above it, clean it out, repair and then plaster board it? 🙂

We can get above it in the roof space. There are wooden beams and a type of dried mud type material in between. Interesting. 😁
