Oh very nice the black Jaguar X-Type - sadly I had to give mine away after two and a half months but it was just becoming to costly for me to also replace the catalysator after I already spent too much money in other stuff that I didn't expect to be an issue. But still one of the best looking cars in my opinion. And the sound of the cat is of course also amazing. This one sounds a bit different to mine.
Nice close up to the MG RV8 - really a lovely car
Nice bunch of Land Rovers. But the white 6:04 is something I've never seen before.
Once someone did also open the bonnet of a Spitfire for me. He only had the 1300 ccm engine in it but 1600 ccm also doesn't sound too sporty. But when driving a roadster with open rooftop you actually also don't care and when sitting this low the speed also feels much higher. But really cool is that you can get easily to everywhere under the bonnet.
The Triumph TR7 in this rallye-design ... I was first thinking it is an Fiat X/19 Abarth. Never seen a motorsport version of an TR7. I didn't know they had a V8.
Oh wow the Metro in the Rothmans livery is looking amazing. Really a nice looking replica with the Toyota engine.
The Audi Coupe is really wonderful in this Audi motorsport livery. At the first spot I was thinking it is an Audi Quattro but it's the Coupe (noticing it easily at the wheel arches and only 4 hubnuts on the rims). But such a small change changes the look of the car totally. I bet when I'm doing the same livery on my car then people would also think it is an Audi 80 Quattro, hehe. For sure a nice job on the Audi.
I also like the Opel Manta B GT/E - really great looking coupes. I can remember that the Vauxhall Cavalier Coupe was looking very similar. Someone told me it is not the same car as the Opel Manta. But I don't know what the actual differences are except for the trim and the grill.
Such a nice collection of rallye cars!
The Rover 75 estate is looking familiar to me 🙂
    Really a nice show Glyn!

Wasn't keen on the blacked out windows on the x type. Did you note the Bedford Van (Astra vehicle) RAC breakdown vehicle on start up. Think it was a diesel Ha, Ha, At the same time the x type started up the Bedford started and there was a Subaru also running.
White Land Rovers are not something you usually see suspect colour choice of the owner on a repaint.
I almost bought a Spitfire as my first car.
The TR7 was raced by the factory. Tony Pond drove them and i remember that when they came to a water splash invariably these broke down on entering the water. The racing ones were V8's. They made a V8 version of the TR7 for the North American market it was called the TR8. They made about 250 fixed heads and 2750 convertibles. Approximately 20 official RHD cars built. Test vehicles.
      The 6R4 replica looked good.
Audi 80 race car replica sounds interesting he, he.
The Manta was a really nice example. The Cavalier coupe looked pretty similar to the original Manta to me but without studying it further i couldn't say.
The 75 Estate, yes it looked familiar to me also, looked very nice and apparently it had a V8 Ford Mustang engine. He,he. At most of the shows i've been to this year i seem to have parked next to something that attracts more attention. In this case it was a modern Morgan 3 wheeler.

@@TipTopMotors. The X-Type is a little bit too black to me - personally I like more the chrome stuff (although I had an X-Type Sport).
The RAC beside is looking to me like an Ford Escort Express. It left a stinky cloud of old Diesel particles, haha.
When parking beside a very attractive car then I am also always unsure if the people stand and talk about my car or the one beside of mine. But the cool thing is that owners of these very attractive cars usually have also great words for your own car that they also like. So it also happened once to me that someone appeared with a wonderful MGB Roadster, what a beauty. And the guys did also give a lot of compliments to my Audi.

@@TipTopMotors. No worries, I also get it sometimes wrong about the cars, hehe. Especially about the colours ... so often I am seeing a yellow car and call it blue, haha.

Beautiful Audi Coupé B2 at the start - these are also already starting to disappear over here. When I am thinking back 10 years ago then I was seeing a Coupé or Quattro on almost every classic car meeting. This changed a lot during the last few years.
I like these MG RV8 - like a facelift of the MGB Roadster but with the V8 it is not a cheap car to buy.
With the new Lamborghinis I never know what model it is, haha. They look all the same to me, now.
    Very cool Allegro Van.
I always liked these Ford Escort Cabriolets. These seem also still to haven't pushed too much on the prices unlike VW Golf Cabriolet.
Cool Ford Sierra - still with the amber indicators but already the second generation (or series?). I liked the old ones much more - they looked in my opinion even more modern than these ones with the Granada/Scorpio alike front design.
The Cortina Pickup is also super rare over here. Yet I've seen only one with a Sierra front but it was an import because we never had them officially here. They had a special name, I'm thinking P100 or something like this.
Just noticing at the VW Golf at 3:14 that it seems to have the grill of the early VW Rabbit Mk2 when it still had the sealed square beams for the US market. The owner did put a lot of stuff elsewhere to have this clean and spacious engine bay. In Germany we also have some people doing such big work on their Golfs. It is sometimes quite difficult to still find an original. But yet the market is still having some granny Golfs because it was the Mk2 is best Golf of all time in terms of reliability and rust protection.
When seeing the Triumph Stag then I'm sure that Mike & Maia will also mention about it ;-)

The Rv8 are my favourite MGB. Love everything about them. Prices here are not too bad from £15,000-£17000 should get a good one and excellent up to £21,000 possibly less. Don't get me wrong that's not cheap.
I agree about the Lambo, like the colour and lights pattern. I've seen this a few times now and the first time was at Ripley castle and while looking at it discovered i worked with the owners partner. Strangely enough at a more recent show yet to air i was looking at another couple of cars again only to discover it was someone i worked with and again you discover more of a common interest you didn't know existed.
The Allegro isn't a van its an estate. They have put backing panels in the rear window glass to promote their business. They never made a van.
Escorts cabriolets, i agree best of both worlds XR3 but with a convertible and prices offer very good value compared to hard top.
I thought the Sierra would appeal to you based on your comments about your uncle Dieter?
The cortina pick up was the p100. Built in South Africa and later Portugal. Did you note the 3 litre engine size on the front wing. When the P100 was new we had a local council who banned anyone and entertainers from appearing in their town who had worked or had links to South Africa(typical council ideology they impose their wishes on you ) It later came to light that they had then bought a quantity of P100 vehicles for their fleet. Of course someone highlighted this to the public so they had egg on their faces, oh how i laughed. Serves them right and just sums up everything.
The VW Golf your right spacious engine compartment and very nicely done. I took a bit more interest in this as i thought it may appeal to you. I didn't know about the grille.
I thought the same about the Stag that Mike and Maia might mention it. I didn't take it for them i took it because i love Stags. Brown is not normally a colour i would choose for a car but this car suited the Maple colour very well and looked lovely.

@@TipTopMotors. I know what you mean about the RV8 with the price. Prices here are around the same. Still a lot of money but of course for a V8 roadster like this it is a good price.
I am still waiting to find someone on classic car shows with whome I worked with, too. Yet it seems like I'm the only crazy petrol head, hehe.
Ah, I understand about the Allegro.
Yep, I like the Ford Sierra very much - especially the first generation - the front end looked sleaker and the tail light design on the sides was also more beautiful - but that's just my personal flavour about the Sierras. The saloons of the second generation was very cool especially when these had the black tail lights.
The Ford P100 is really looking amazing. The 3.0 is for sure a good sounding machine on this pickup.
The first time I've seen a Triumph Stag was around 2015 when I was at the first classic car tour. I found it very interesting because I did only know about the Spitfire back then. Noticed a few similarities - well, being a roadster and similar (but not same) tail light design. I find them also very interesting.

Your old fashioned(you did say to call you) but so am I. These are cars i am familiar with. Despite being a Big BL fan the Allegro Estate just never looked right to me it was the shape of the back window but they are a rare sight now and good to see them. The Mk1 Granada were lovely exec cars and the coupe extra special. Thanks for watching and commenting.👍

Interesting collection - you're right, Sierras are thin on the ground these days. 3.0 P100 - probably South African - the dry climate does do them favours 😃Can't recall having seen a brown Stag before. You'd have thought that if someone had gone to all that build effort on the Metro, they would have removed the 'Toyota' on top of the engine 🤣 Impressive build none the less.

    • @TipTopMotors.
      @TipTopMotors.  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

That's what i said to Sven about the P100. Later also built in Portugal.
Wouldn't normally go for a Brown car but it looked nice in Maple. They also did it in sienna i think and towards the end of production in Russet brown. Russet brown ones tend to be cheaper as they don't appeal to everyone but i think they look ok and when nicely polished look nice.
I agree with the Metro why go to so much trouble building a replica to then display a Toyota engine.

@@OldCarsNewVan On very basic cars, and when the paintwork looked flat it wasn't a colour that looked that well , but when nicely polished and lifted with coach lines as on the Stag with a Tan interior it could look nice. When my Dad was after a car i remember going to look at a Maxi with him, it was Russet brown, immaculate and had sold. I think he was quite disappointed.

I always had a soft spot for MG V8. Retro but... aggressive.

As a kid i always used to fancy having a Damask Red MGB GT V8 and although MGB are ok they don't really excite me too much. However i have always liked the RV8. Love everything about them, the flared arches, the bumpers, the rear lights and then you have a lovely interior and that V8 engine. Thanks for watching.

Some rarities again there Glyn, Allegro estate & Bedford CF pick up. Don't think the 6R4 was a real one, real one had 4 stud wheels not 5, and should of had the V64V motor in the back not a Toyota motor...looked well non the less! Mk2 Escort looked a nice thing 😍 as did the Chevette in the old Andrews colours, regular sponsor of Russel Brooks back in the day! Good one mate 👍

      @TipTopMotors.  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

Cant say i knew that about 4 stud wheels of the 6r4 but when i saw it my instinct was it wasn't real then i saw the Toyota engine. It looked the part none the less and i remember when there was a brand new one for sale 44 miles on the clock for £20,000. Now circa £325,000. Cheers for the info.👍
