Hi, I saw that you follow knots on the wire that connects the kayak's rudder to the motor? What knots do you use to keep the thread tension without slipping during maneuvers?
The connection is more about the screws tightening down on the cord. On the steering triangle, I don’t know the name of the knot, but it’s a simple set of coils and the tag end tucked in.
VDog Time Yes. You do it the same way you rig the Outback, but you need to drill holes in the square cover. Backyard Boats was the first Dealer I saw do this rigging, and it was on a Pro Angler.
is the rotating disc above still turning? even if rudder pulled up? If the rudder pulled up, can you still have the same steering rotation on the torqeedo? Thanks..
Could you do a video of how you tied the steering lines into hobie steering control? at least a little more detail. I just received my torqeedo 403ac today can’t wait to install on my 2019 outback
rob g The Rugged Inline Mount is available now. The new Torqeedo mount will be available in April 2019, BUT the old motor pylon mounted on the Hobie Power Pole adapter plate might not get the propeller deep enough. That’s why the new Torqeedo Ultralight 403A or AC features a 10 cm longer pipe. Have I mentioned the Rugged In Line Mount for the Pro Angler?
@@TheLittleStuff The rugged in line mount looks great! The one mounted on your rig looks much longer than the one for sale on the Innovative sportsmans website. For a proangler 14 do you recommend mounting the rugged inline mount to the hobie power pole mounting bracket for ventilation free use? Awesome video!
Hi Jeff, I'm in the middle of an installation or the 403AC on a 2016 Hobie PA14. Having a problem finding a location I like for the controller. Looks like you mounted to the seat leg. What did you use?
Jeff, my 403ac quit several times yesterday with a 22 error code. I recalculated it several times but after running about 5 minutes it shut down with the same code. I had to recalculate it 6 or 7 times. What do you think is the problem?
GabooNx I need time to actually fish. All I do is Torqeedo work and family time anymore. Sorry to disappoint. I’ll take some vacation time this spring and fish.
EEEEAAANK ! WRONG ! Your estimations on run time / battery life ! Course my results .5 battery life left , after crossing a small lake & back (5-7 min tops) , was on a Jackson Coosa , but maybe the newer models are better ? Heres to hoping the loud (fish spooking ) whirring of the motor , has been improved as well.
Ronnie Patterson There’s a range of top end speeds that different kayak models can attain with this motor. I’ve seen top end speeds as low as 4.8 mph and as high as 5.7 mph. Hull design, length, hull weight, seat position and therefore angler weight distribution and corresponding trim make a big difference in top end speed and efficiency at any mph. Your Coosa might have been heavily weighted at the stern, something that decreases efficiency. The easiest way to improve range is to use the 915 Watt hour battery that comes with the Ultralight 403AC or the 403C. It nearly triples the range compared to the 403A or 403, which offers a 320 Watt hour battery. The 2019 Hobie Outback at a top end speed of 5.5 mph represents one of the most efficient hull designs I have tested. Much of that is due to the seat being more forward compared to other kayaks. This lets the boat ride flat instead of “bow up, stern down”. It makes it fast and efficient.
Well the guy's at BassYakks installed it , top notch , with pedals etc , seemed balanced etc , had the battery that came with it, & for that price , It just wasnt what I thought id be . I forget what place I called , but a guy made one last thing , as he was packin up to take a job in Germany , at Torqeedo (just for me btw / lol) , was a special cable , where you could integrate the systems battery , WITH A REG BATTERY , it ROCKED , & I see why hes in Germany , lol ! Anyways if I still had the footage , of me on that Coosa when a unannounced Bama storm popped up , youd use it in promo vids ! 5ft waves whitecapping , & that lightning fast Torqueedo , had that heavy Coosa , barely touching water , till I got to the dock !!! That motor has its perks , but my buddy , & yours , Chad Hoover got rid of the too heavy for me vessel , within 5 min of my first visit to HOOK-1 ! lol Now , im in a custom Blue Angels Slayer 10 he helped design , & its perfect for my short ass , now tell him to send me another Torqueedo for this one , painted Hornet Blue , F-18 (for free) , with the bigger battry for it , ON THE DOUBLE JEFF , SIR ! Thanks bro !

Can you still integrate the Torqueedo 403AC into the Steering Drum of the Hobie PA 14 so that the motor and rudder steers at the same time?

Have you ever done an install a torqeedo on a revolution 16’? I’m looking to put one on mine but haven’t found anyone who has done it yet.
sublime4432 I have not. My suggestion would be to find one of the older “ball mount” versions: 403 or 403C.
THANK YOU!!!! Great video.
Adam Burhani I had fun filming it. Travis at Backyard Boats was very helpful. I recommend them for anyone who wants to motor up a Hobie!
Wondering how you turn the steering handle if the rudder isn’t deployed.
With that same set up hooking the Torqeedo triangle to the steering drum work on the pro angler 14? Thank you

Always Nguyening Fishing Here’s one on the Pro Angler. Travis showed what it was on the Outback. th-cam.com/video/98sLZCDGT2A/w-d-xo.html
That new mount is a work of art!! When will it be available for purchase as I am still using the old ball mount on my pro angler.

i wonder if that's more cost effective that the 360
Do you recommend this size for the hobie outback of the new 1103?
Please do this type of video with the new mount on a Bonafide SS127. Please!?
Juan Porras That video is coming soon. John Hipsher of YakAttack and I will tag team that.

Doug Shoup It’s a Ram Claw and small Ram ball with diamond base on the throttle.
Does the torqueedo go in reverse?
Yes it does.

Not sure. Call service at 815-444-8806, ext 1 and see what they recommend
Fishing videos please!

great motor till i seen the price point
Price for this motor is unreasonable. Not worth it
