I just recently finished mine and I'm in love, it's the prettiest thing I've ever crocheted. This tutorial was so incredible and easy to follow and the pattern is so well thought out!! I only had to weave in the ends for the straps and everything else was neatly hidden away. I want to make one in every colour!!! Thank you for such a great video
yess i just really want to wear things as soon as possible after making it 🤭 bless I’m so happy to read your comment, warms my heart 🫶

Woooow that’s awesome❤
I made this with super fine yarn and 3mm hook
I started with 78 dcs
Is the look really different? I have some left over jarn for a 4 mm hook, do you think that works?
I've been waiting for months! Thank you so much! ❤
thank you soo much for waiting, i appreciate it deeply 💖 my video making process takes me quite some time since I'm doing all the work but I'm so grateful to have a patient and supportive audience like you 🙈

You have no idea how grateful I am for this tutorial. It is explained so well and looks great too. I was just wondering if it is possible to do increases and decreases in this pattern? I wanna try using this for making a skirt so it would be useful
beautiful
thank you! ❤️
Parabéns pela aula perfeita!
Thank you so much for this pattern
❤️
you are amazing teacher. thanks for sharing your beautiful vest. 😗👏👏👏👏
I'm glad you like it 🫶🦥
made a swatch for this today! so excited, i relly like it so far omg
im also curious how will it look made from colorful yarn, the type that has some simple gradient in it, will it have a reverse gradient effect? i think i wanna do a swatch with yarn like this just to see how it turn out
I think it can look pretty if color b is gradient and color a is solid but i think the best is to try it out of course 💌
thank you for this free pattern, it looks so nice, can't wait to make mine following your video. Where do you get yarn?
you're welcome
i placed this in my to do projects but wanted to prioritize it but i have so mny WIPs hahahaha
Thanks
thank you so so much for the generous donation! 🫶🥺
hi, how many plys are the yarn you used? thank you and i can’t wait to try making it on my own too ^^
Wallace and gromit shirt!
Thank you so much for this, this got me back into crochet after a long break - your explanations and design are just amazing!!! 🥹🫶🏻 Just a quick question about how to finish the back panel before joining (around 35:22) Do you end the back panel similar to how you end the last row of the neckline i.e by working in a new green yarn at the end of a row 4, and doing 2sc, 4dc into the green, 3sc etc?
Hi! Yes, you’re correct, both panels have the same way of working the last row like you wrote, and that’s how they’ll have the same height ❣️
❤
Hi! I am an absolute beginner and would love to try starting with your project!
As far as I see here, I believe that I will be able to follow your video, step after step.
I am nervous about the material and especially the yarn.. I am located in Melbourne (Newport VIC, Australia): do you know where I could find what I need? Overwhelmed by the results when googling..
please do it again, but it's easier 😅
Thank you for this pattern!
I am getting stuck with the first row lol I stuggle finding the v’s and is there an order with each position of the v? (Each line getting closer to the link on the hook)
Ah hope I explained that well enough for you to help me :)
The v's are kind of on the bottom of the stitch, first time you make it in the 3rd chain of 3ch, and then from there you can see the next v is near the skip knot 🙈 i feel like the first ones are much harder to find but if you rewatch the video you can tell where they are, especially one I've made a few already it's easier to see (i hope) 🥲 but if that's too hard you can make a foundation chain and then double crochet into the chain stitches 🥹
For personal reference, how to start each row :)
Row 4: finish last stitch with cream color, turn work, stack of 3 sc while carrying the green thread (flip it to back, then to front, then to back) -> dc, ch 3, sc, ch 3
Row 5: ch 1, turn work -> sc, ch 7
Row 6: finish last stitch with green color, ch1 while carrying the white thread (go under it when yarning over for the ch1), turn work -> sc, tc
Row 7: ch 1, turn work -> sc
For color b, is it possible to just do dc and tc for row 2 and skip row 3? Or is it sc and dc and then a row of sc to avoid weaving in a bunch of ends when switching colors?
yeah i don't think you should skip row 3 because you won't be able to weave in ends as you go
Tak!
Thank you so much! 💗
heyy is there any way we can make this a v neck ?
Not sure if it’s just my beginner skills or if the pattern is not large size friendly 😅 neckline/shoulders are super wide.. which makes sense because it’s just a square but as I beginner I didn’t really think that through.. super cool fabric to make but potentially not the most size inclusive pattern
Hi! I'm sorry for the frustration and i hope some of my recommendations can help you because i did make it for my best friend that is a large size (chest width 120 cm) and it fitted her nicely, so here are some of my insights - shoulders can be wider than you expected because of a few possible reasons: 1) the width of your panel should be half of your chest width, not more, because it's an open side tie vest, so it won't be small on you and still look slightly oversized even if it's half of your chest circumference
2) while working your border, when you get to the shoulder seam, you can make a decrease (hdc2tog or make 2 times hdc2tog) so it can hug your shoulders
Regarding the neckline, I'd say 3 hexagons+2 halves of hexagons on both sides like i did on my front panel in the video should be enough for an adults head size
Also this is not a must thing but if you intend on making a big vest I'd recommend using 6 mm so that the finished garment will be lighter and less dense, and the stitch still didn't loose it's structure and texture
Lmk if it helped you and feel free to ask if something was confusing!
@@daylahanh aww thank you so much for the help. I was so scared that it wasn’t going to be big enough for me so I did size up which I guess is my first mistake so my bad on that. I think it will still turn out okay. Only the sides left to finish but using a larger hook size could have been helpful too. I have learned SO much from this project and maybe I’ll come back to it when I’m more advanced to make a better version 🫡
@@daylahanhDo you remember how much yarn you used for your best friend's vest? I also have a chest width of 120cm and I'm going to buy yarn tomorrow 😊
gorgeous!🤩 what numbers of coloures u used?
#52 and #05 🥰
💥💥💥💥💥
I only have 200g of each color, so you think I can work something out? 😢
i crocheted 42 in the foundation row- where do i put my stitch markers when making the neckline??
Do you mean you made 43? Because the stitch pattern is multiple of 7+1, so 42 is not possible, so if you have 43 stitches then you have 6 hexagons width (5 full hexagons and 2 halves on the sides) so you'll leave in the center the number of hexagons that is enough for your head, for mine i did 3, yours maybe different but if must be an odd number, then the rest is shoulders you can apply the same logic that i did in the video, if you decide to do 3 hexagons for neckline then on the shoulders there will be only 6 stitches for each shoulder. But I don't know the width of your panel so i can't recommend precisely
Chị ơi cho em hỏi len chị dùng sợi bao nhiêu mm vậy ạ?
À em đã kím ra rùi, chart rất hay chị ơi em cám ơn chị đã ra video tutorial nha!!!!! ❤❤❤
❣️❣️
Hello this tutorial is beautiful ❤ thank you. I just noticed maybe the grams for the green and the white yarns should be swapped? (Maybe it should be green yarn 300 grams and white 200g) I followed the tutorial and my green yarn ran out faster than white one 👀 i have to stop and get more green yarns 😅😅
The green one is a little bit less than cream only because of the fact that i used cream for borders, neckline, and long straps, but green runs out faster in the stitch pattern, if i remember it correctly ☺️
@@daylahanh oh that explains:) thanks!
what if I have a size 5 crochet hook and a completely different kind of yarn 😭 the only alternatives I have are either wool, acrylic or cotton (best option but it's kinda expensive💔)
you can use any yarn that you want but if you want to use 5 mm hook then you should get a weight #4 yarn, regarding material I'd say it depends where you live, your preference and when you're going to plan wearing it, if where you live it's cold mostly, then wool will be best, and if your country is warm most of the time - cotton blend or acrylic can be more suitable for you, but 100% cotton is going to be heavy for this design, so maybe keep that in mind in your decision making
@@daylahanhoh thank you so much
Mẫu áo xinh quá bạn ơi, cho mình hỏi bạn dùng len Yarnart Jean plus đúng ko ạ
cám ơn nha, đúng rồi bạn 💌
Hii, why are my double crochets at the begginning curving? The line is not straight
Stretching it out can help and when pulling up a loop, make it loosely every time
what type of ply thread do you use?
It's 8 ply (medium weight 4 yarn)
@day la hanh , hello, I am a beginner in crochet I really loved this vest I was wondering, after you've done 57 stitches and you start doing one single crochet and skip 4, how did you get 6 stitches at the end I only get 5 stitches, I tried multiple times and I count my stitches carefully still I end up having 57. ( in 7:39 min) , is anyone facing the same problem?
hi, you should have 57 stitches, starting from 2 sc into the first 2 stitches, skip 4, 3 sc, skip 4, 3 sc... and in the end you should have 6 stitches, where you'll make 4 skips and 2 sc. 57 stitches = 32 skips (which is 8*4)+7*3 sc+ 4 sc (in the beginning and in the end 2 sc each side)= 32 skips + 25 sc = 57 stitches
Thank you 🥹❤️❤️
If its not to weird to ask how tall are? I don't have a meisuring tape only a ruler 😅
I’m 164 cm (5”4)
ruler kind of works too i guess 😄
Aah so a bit taller than me then good to know 👍 thank you for answering so quickly! You're so sweet
3x8=24 total off single stiches 4x7=28 skip stiches - 5 at the end ------total of 57 stiches
Total single crochets is 25, not 24, and skipped stitches are 32, i replied the full math on your previous comment, hopefully it's more understandable
Thank you so much 🥹❤️
So can I use 77? Because its divisible by 7?
The stitch pattern is multiple 7+1, so you can make 77+1 stitches, so 78 stitches in total :)
It's really hard to try the first steps... Can someone help me? Or give me tips?
hi, you can look up on youtube dedicated video on how to make foundation chainless double crochets, i hope that will help 🫶
