Sega had so many future innovations but released all way too early. It's kind of like TRON. No one understood it when it came out but later it made so much sense.
Was not caused by PS2, was internal issues mainly with Sega Of America's CEO You showed the wrong CEO's face in the picture it was Peter Moore, who quickly left sega after pulling the plug to go work on the Xbox, he told them to get out of the hardware manufacturing to kill competition for a position microsoft had promised him on the premise that Dreamcast was out of the picture. He sabotaged the dreamcasts failure here in the US. Sega of japan had many attempts of reviving the dreamcast, this wasn't the only one, there was a patient they filed for He created all of these problems for the company and destroyed the advertising of it here in the states. Sega of japan tried making deals with microsoft as well after finding out of Peter Moores sabotaged which was much quicker than Peter knew. The individual who was in a chair seat who tried to make a deal with microsoft for their upcoming console play dreamcast games too passed away and the deal fell off the face of the earth with his death. His idea was that he could save the american market by going around Peter moore who pretty much all of the japanese chairs knew he was sabotaging Sega of America at the expense of the company. He wanted to save the american market by letting dreamcast games play on xboxs so the games from japan could still come over to the states. What you fail to realize is that Sega of America is a separate branch of the same company, so is Sega of Europe. Sega of Japan has only so much control over the American company. Most of this information is lost to time over the net so I can not provide sources as those sources are all gone, and instead now are filled with Peter Moore's propaganda he made statements to save his career. As he went from working on the original xbox to being the head at EA sports for a while during EA sports years of what is arguably the worst years for EA sports games where they simply just re-released older games with updates roasters. Do not trust those interviews with peter moore, he is a liar, he will say anything to paint himself as a good guy when he was a tyrant with a iron fist trying to destroy what we love. He only thought about himself and how he could get in with Microsoft, and eventually work his way up to EA Sports when he realized he was a tool for microsoft. Dreamcast still went on until 2005 in Europe 2008 in Japan, and in Brazil no game consoles die, genesis is still on life support there. Their pace effort was the most well developed, they had several patients to a dreamcast successor, sega of japan's main issue was the lack of sales in the US they only wanted to pull out if sales didn't increase and they continues on the slope they were on. This was the threat they made because Peter was sinking the company. Many of the devs he was being buddy buddy with he also was trying to recruit to leave their jobs and come work for Microsoft. Sega of japan didn't even pull the plug, Peter did, he pulled it "before the japs could" as he stated back then internally in front of "friends" who he also promised microsoft jobs, one of which was at home arcade solution, which could also be sold to arcades, which borrowed a lot of ideas from this but it was after this and it only got to the concept phases, and leaks of the hardware, unfortunately I can not find these any more. Sega did not leave the hardware business as they still make arcade machines and still do.
Sega, wow. Apart from literally competing with itself..missed the ball on this. I am guessing NDS encryption was on these pace boxes, which would have given a high level of assurance for the software security..the boxes are bound to an ongoing subscription, essentially would be paid off with the subscription over time, I can see why pace proposed this. Dreamcast never had a chance with sega.
It will be hard to regain the pace you had with the older channel (see what I did there?), but I will still look forward to both new videos and old I haven't watched. It doesn't matter how bad the trolling and stalking can be, if you take drastic actions (like shutting down your channel or yourself), they win. Don't let them win.
I had 3 strikes, so it wasn't like I was left with any choice. TH-cam gave me the choice of waiting 7 days to back-up my content or close the channel. I chose not to prolong it as I already had it all backed up.
Dreamcast was my favorite. Still have it.
You should to a video on the story of five failed handheld systems from the 2000s.

This definitely could have worked with the right support

Wasn't it demoed at an ECTS show too?
Do you think it would have had any graphics and CPU upgrades?
It didn't, it was the same hardware.
Were there any working prototype?
Yes, a prototype is shown in the video. Sadly nobody knows what happened to it.
@@TheLairdsLair it’s possibly still at Sega somewhere but no one knows what actually happened to it tho
Germany always wins. Cough world war one. Cough world war two.
