I’m not sure if the song was changed slightly at all, or if it was left intact and this is just a weird audio mixing thing.
Oh no they definetly touched it up. The backing vocals were pronounced and the drums were much farther ahead in the mix than the original. I'm glad I wasnt the only one that picked up on it. Though I do wonder if they're just keeping it this way or if it's just a place holder

Glad I'm not the only one getting the same vibes... Seriously though, how many failed 3D Sonic games do they need to publish before they stop trying to make a 2D platformer that's all about raw speed work in a 3D environment with drastically slower gameplay? Most of Sonic's draw is supposed to be that he runs multiple times faster than the speed of sound, but these 3D games often fail to convey a sense of speed that makes it clear that Sonic & Shadow can outrace top of the line fighter jets rather than topping out at comparable speeds to a high-end luxary car.

Actually, The "What I'm made Of" music track is an unlockable track in Sonic Generations but it's the original one we hear from Sonic Heroes. But, just like how Perfect Chaos's theme had its remix for generations I won't be surprised if there are 2 versions of it in the same game.
So happy to see Kingdom Valley return. I was surprised it wasn't included in the base game of Generations back in 2011. I was under the impression that it was one of the more popular stages from 06.
@TheBlueTyphoon17 Oh, I'm not saying it isn't. I just figured Kingdom Valley would give the game more variety since Generations would already have 3 other city stages, including Speed Highway, Rooftop Run, and City Escape. To it's credit though, Crisis City easily stands out the most due to it being on fire, so I'm not upset they included it.
This is going to be the best Sonic game 2024! Seeing Metal Overlord again put a smile on my face and talks as well and 'What I made of...' played again is the peak! 🥹 Over through decades both Shadow and Sonic has been evolved a lot. 😎👍

@@LunyLucytechnically Sonic never beat Infinite by himself. During their fight in the Mystic Jungle, he tripped up Infinite, but was still defeated nonetheless

Good Vibes Gaming shows some really cool shortcuts you can do in this level. For instance, at around 0:11 you can use Chaos control on that flying Black Arms enemy and then use Doom Blast to find a really cool shortcut.
Hopefully this kills all the comments about it looking “like Forces”. This is some of the best level design I’ve seen in a 3D Sonic game in a LONG time!
Sonic Forces Chemical Plant in the background of Metal Overlord's battle:
@@TheHammerGuy94I think they just recoloured the assets to look like the boss stage in last story of heroes
It's literally Forces level design philosophy though. A new coat of paint doesn't change that. They couldn't even manage to do the wall-running segment from 06 despite Generations already having something like that in 2011.
@@singithi8556There is a wall running segment not shown in this gameplay in the same spot as '06's version of the stage

Honestly, I don’t mind that there is 2-D in Metal’s boss fight. As long as the battle is engaging that’s all that matters to me.
Plus, he just defects some of your attacks, so it is really cool that he does not just fold right away.
this one looks like the Egg Dragoon boss from sonic forces.
if the projectile ping pong wasn't a dead givaway.
This might also trigger people: but the boss fight happens in Sonic Forces' Chemical Plant.
@@TheHammerGuy94 The boss fight doesn’t take place in the forces chemical plant. It does look like it, but that’s not the area. This probably takes place in the same area where sonic fought metal overlord, but just down on the sea.
The entire bossfight was a surfing minigame, but that's alright. If it's fun to play, I won't complain about it.

@@DarkFrozenDepths Well no. This is after 06. Shadow wouldn't even have those powers yet.
@@johnathonturner2279 yeah, i didn't see the black doom returns trailer until after this one.

Metal Overlord got a new voice? Wonder who's voicing him
It might be Roger Craig Smith bc he's the current voice of Sonic instead of Ryan Drummond who originally voiced him in Sonic Heroes

Harder is a stretch, as much as I love the design of Overlord and whatnot, this is more of a glorified ping pong match. I will say though, that if they do what the OG Generations did and add a hard mode to bosses, that might make it more thrilling.
@@bluenited9524 fair enough the reason why I said harder is cause sonic bosses really has been very easy recently.

Does anyone else think the vocals that double with Johnny sound more pronounced at 5:18 than in the original song? I’m not sure if the sound effects are somehow brining out the low-end more or not, but it sounds like the vocals that are an octave lower than Johnny are easier to hear.
@@DarkCloudVA2 Ooh, I didn’t pick up on the drums. That’s a great catch!

Because Sonic Heroes, Sonic & the Secret Rings, Sonic '06, Shadow, Sonic Unleashed, Sonic Lost World, Sonic Frontiers, & Sonic Forces were all panned for failing to reach the bar set by Sonic Adventure 2, much less reaching the same level of quality that the original trilogy on the Genesis had.

A token you can find in the levels for unlockable extras such as music, concept art and pages of Gerald Robotnik's journal.
I'm guessing it's similar to the red star rings n such. 🤔
Maybe shadows red rings or a collectable
It also looks like a gear from the Doom Powers trailer
If you pause it just right, looks like a musical note collectible for the game that you can unlock.

Actually, The "What I'm made Of" music track is an unlockable track in Sonic Generations
but it's the original one we hear from Sonic Heroes.
But, just like how Perfect Chaos's theme had its remix for generations
I won't be surprised if there are 2 versions of it in the same game.
Metal Overlord is looking cool here, nice to hear him speak like in Heroes.
So happy to see Kingdom Valley return. I was surprised it wasn't included in the base game of Generations back in 2011. I was under the impression that it was one of the more popular stages from 06.
yeah but crisis city stands out more even by sonic standards.
there aren't many times sonic is in an actual burning city.
I mean Crisis City is a pretty popular level in its own right too
They said before that when they were doing private voting at the time of making Generations Crisis City was the most voted from 06.
It annoys me how Chemical Plant has become THE Sonic 2 stage, when it was clearly always Casino Night.
I can tell the developers were doing serious cooking with shadow level and story
Shadow : im the true ultimate life form

They may add Infinite and Mephiles as rivals or just bosses
Apparently in a IGN interview with Iizuka, he stated that Sonic is gonna make an appearance in the Shadow campaign, so we might actually get a sonic rival battle. Silver, however, I’m not too sure about
Mephiles would probably be the boss for KV, but as for the rival fight? I'm not sure.
@CaptainF123 I mean, if we think about this. If they were to add Mephiles as a rival fight, they’d probably go with his second base form, but as a boss? I feel like they’d bring back Solaris
