She was raised Mormon, the Mormon church is known to ignore SA of children and protect the perpetrator. I was raised in this cult and my parents chose to sweep it under the rug as their church leaders taught them to.

Apparently, she grew up Mormon. Like in so many religions, the focus is on protecting the powerful men in charge and the profitable church itself. Not on protecting women and children who have no power.

Mormons were pressured to have boat loads of kids to build up their cult. I'm from a mainstream Mormon family and one of 10 kids. My mom was basically just a breeder for the Mormon cult.
